Hi Ladies 🙂 can I join this thread? Got my BFP on Monday and was a bit of a shock as I really thought it wasn’t our month! I still can’t believe it and keep looking at my FRER test 🤣 due 24th September. 5 weeks tomorrow. Have had mild cramps, nausea and sore boobs the past few days so at least the symptoms are encouraging. It feels like a lifetime to wait and worry until 12 weeks though 😫 x x

petitlapin1 · 20/01/2022 20:43

@Murphyy I'm 7+3 and hubbie just tested positive with a hacking cough and sneezing. No way we can reasonably isolate from each other so it feels a bit inevitable that me and DS will get it too, especially with the slightly suppressed immune system in pregnancy.
I've had it twice so far and each time paracetamol, fluids and more rest than you think has helped. Will keep my fingers crossed for a swift recovery for you.

BntTowers · 20/01/2022 20:44

Anyone who does exercise classes when would you tell your instructors. I've read that some suggest that as soon as you know you should say, but I don't think I'm ready to tell her yet. I've not been going to this Zumba class too long so I'm just taking it a bit easier.

madeleine85 · 20/01/2022 21:08

@Isonthecase honestly im sure google has seen weirder searches :) I think with my DD I googled mucus plugs when mine came out, andbirth videos about one week before when I knew it was happening soon. Terrifying yet necessary. Should clear browsing history lol.

@petitlapin1 so sorry that he has covid, though hoping that you've had it twice already so this time you escape!

@BntTowers I think it depends on how you're feeling to be honest/what classes. Last time I was about 12 weeks, told a yoga instructor and she turned me away from class. It wasn't a hot class, there was nothing out the ordinary. The studio emailed and apologised to me later, but it was really frustrating at the time. I told a pump instructor the last time when in the first trimester as I was there to help a sore back, but didn't know if i'd manage/last the whole class, and it felt better that he knew if I just walked out that it wasn't him, and he was great. As long as it isn't a heated class, at this stage I don't think you are under any obligation to tell them, and some instructors take it really strangely when you do in my experience. To each their own... This time around I am finding it good to stop and take a lot of breaks between tracks and lots of water, for that purpose I am loving the les mills online classes as I can do it at my own pace. Good luck!

@BntTowers I did combat on Tuesday. I told the instructor who said it was fine and he would give lower impact options.

Hi everyone, I’m just over 6 weeks & feeling very fed up at the moment Confused

I am still having very bad cramping pain which is only relieved with a bowel movement. Yesterday I went 4 times & every night between 12-1am the pain is waking me. I start sweating and have aching all down my legs then 15 minutes or so later it passes and i feel fine until it happens again.

I called midwife number & the receptionist said call GP. Couldn’t get through to GP at all. In the end I called NHS 111. They gave me an out of hours local midwife number and said if they don’t help then they advise I go to A&E. The local midwife said she’d never heard anything like it, take paracetamol or co-codemol. I chose not to go to A&E as I feel it’s very risky with Covid right now & I am so so tired after spending so much time in the toilet at night.

As I said, feeling very fed up and frustrated right now. I know cramping is normal but this can feel very extreme at times & I normally have a high pain threshold. I am also relieved I have had no bleeding or spotting. I am just hoping it passes soon or I don’t know how I’ll cope Xmas Smile

Hope you are all well though Flowers

BntTowers · 20/01/2022 21:34

@blueSky57 hopefully it will pass soon. I always get bad leg cramps before my period, and maybe with everything that's going on it's just extra strains like that. There's a lot going on at the moment, I remember feeling horrendous with cramps last time and so far it hasn't been that bad this time. Keep calling them of it continues.

I think I'm just going to wait until 10/12 weeks to tell the Zumba instructor, I've found some YouTube pregnancy Zumba videos so will start them too. I'm also trying to do a little 10 minute yoga video most days.

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/01/2022 21:41

@BlueSky57 they sound like the cramps you get in early pregnancy. I get them to a point where it's so uncomfortable but pass after about 15 mins. They feel like bad period cramps. My midwife's and gps have said it's the baby settling in and the uterus stretching. Try not to worry too much about it unless it gets worse

BlueSky57 · 20/01/2022 21:45

Thank you @BntTowers. There must be a link between hormones and leg aches then. Come to think of it I also have ‘toilet issues’ during my period too… Confused

Also I’ve just read back and lots of you mention having excess CM. I am not experiencing any discharge/CM at all & haven’t since I got my BFP. Is this also normal? Hmm

BlueSky57 · 20/01/2022 21:48

Thanks @Hopingforarainbow27! Glad I am not alone. During the day I seem to get normal type period pain which is uncomfortable but I can still do my job through it. In the evening and when they wake me up at night they are horrific though. To the point I feel like I may pass out during the 15 minutes of pain & then they just disappear & I don’t feel pregnant at all Confused

In some ways I feel like I can’t complain because I have no other symptoms whatsoever. No sore boobs, no cravings or nausea… it’s such a weird time!!

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/01/2022 23:08

@BlueSky57 yeah that's how mine have been and my friends have described the same from their pregnancies also. I had to get up in the middle of the night the other day and just sit in the bathroom until it passed. I've found they are worse when I need the toilet.

I know exactly what you mean about them being awful but also a good reminder that you're pregnant. I have cramps but also really sore boobs but I get sore boobs from like 2dpo so I think mine are really sensitive to hormonal changes. I feel like they could burst atm but I'd be sad if the feeing went because it's a reminder 🙈😂

Shabz22 · 20/01/2022 23:17

The panicking and knicker checking has started here. I think for the first few days I was still on a high from my surprise at seeing a positive test. Now I'm worried constantly about something going wrong. Everytime I go to the toilet and need to wipe my heart starts pacing and I'm scared to look. I really want to book a scan but not until around 8 or 9 weeks so we have more chance of seeing something, but it's so far away 😩

Also my cervix is really low, is that OK? I thought it retracted further up when you're pregnant?

BntTowers · 21/01/2022 03:38

@bluesky57 I'm sure there is, I've been having a few dodgy bowel movements the past few days too. I feel awful right now, but toddler has woken up and needs a cuddle so I'm trapped under her which is making me feel worse physically (not complaining too much though as this is her first wake up of the night).

Carebear99 · 21/01/2022 05:26

Hi ladies, I would like up join this thread too. I'm 39 and this isa shock pregnancy. I'm 6w2d today according to 2 early scans.

madeleine85 · 21/01/2022 05:42

@Shabz22 I think everyone is different. This is my second, but with the first I don’t think I even knew what a cervix was let alone where it should be. This time it’s lower than I would expect from reading online, but the doctor called it a “healthy pregnant cervix”. I wouldn’t focus too much on where it is tbh. I know we get obsessive though 😂

Is anyone else finding they're sleeping really poorly? I keep waking up in the early hours and struggling to get back to sleep. I'm not a great sleeper anyway but this is definitely worse than normal.

rcal1988 · 21/01/2022 06:19

@110APiccadilly this is happening to me too. For the last week I have woken at 3am and found it difficult to get back to sleep! I am normally a great sleeper. I’m tired but I wonder if it’s just my brain going in to overdrive thinking about the pregnancy. Hoping I can relax more over the weekend as I won’t have to get up for work

110APiccadilly · 21/01/2022 06:29

At least it's not just me (not that I want other people to have to deal with it too!) I'm not sure what it is with me, I don't think it's worry. Doubly annoying as DD is an amazing sleeper - goes 7 to 7 most nights (she takes after DH, thank goodness) and I feel I'm not making the most of that!

Flibbyjibby · 21/01/2022 06:56

Uugghh so woken up today (6+1) with bad nausea. The thought of eating anything makes me feel sick but I need to make my packed lunch for work…

Luckily I have some anti sickness medication from GP due to HG last pregnancy so I’ve taken one of those to hopefully stop me vomiting at work! (I’m a teacher so massively anxious that I will be sick whilst at the front of the class teaching a lesson)

On the plus side I do need to lose a few pounds as I’m just over 30 BMI at the moment. I know it’s awful to think like this but got to find some positives!

Pinkflamingofly · 21/01/2022 07:40

Still no sickness 🤞🏻 for me but it's still early days. We told our children the big news last night, they were so excited (apart from my 1 year old who's too young to understand obviously).

I'm also waking up super early, happened in previous pregnancies. In my case, I think it's because I'm still super excited about finding out..once I get used to it, I'm sure I'll be sleeping normally again. I'm also going to bed early because I feel knackered in the evening

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 21/01/2022 07:51

If you've got younger children how are you managing with them clambering all over you. My DS 22 months is amazing but he loves to climb all over me!

110APiccadilly · 21/01/2022 08:35

DD is 14 months, at the moment I just let her clamber! She's pretty small and new baby is well protected at the moment I'd assume. As I get further along I'll have to reassess that I suppose but it's not worrying me at the moment.

mol2mum · 21/01/2022 08:46

@Whatelsecouldibecalled same here but with a 3 stone 8lb dog who has to be sat on top of me at all times!!😂
Belle2210 · 21/01/2022 08:56

@BlueSky57

This sounds like the kind of thing I had on and off the first few weeks. Woke me up the night before I got my BFP and was convinced my TOTM was coming. Ive always got more constipated/crampy when my period arrived. My theory is that everything's a bit larger in there (more so with pregnancy) so bowel movements working through causes the pain and trapped wind. Are you taking pregnancy vitamins? I've found having just a folic acid tablet one night then preg vit the next (taken before bed) has made such a difference. Think the iron was making bowel issues worse and so more pain.

Just wanted to say for everyone that's having a hard time with anxiety, I've been the same on and off but what helps me is to think that no matter how much I worry, test or have scans non of it will change the outcome of the pregnancy and I have to be OK with that because its out of my hands. The time I spend worrying/stressing about it is just tainting each day I am pregnant and isn't doing me or the baby any favours. If this is a successful pregnancy I don't want to think back of all the time I've wasted worrying about things when I should've been enjoying every second (minus the nausea😷) and if it's not successful I again would rather have enjoyed the days carrying bean than regret them💕. Not sure if that will help anyone else.... Wishing I was a bit more poetic 😂.

BlueSky57 · 21/01/2022 09:16

Good morning all

I had another awful night so have contacted my doctor this morning. I had 3 episodes of painful cramps & diarrhoea last night. I have noticed the pain is more on the right side too so have got myself into a bit of a state. I requested a phone call from the doctor but within minutes she rang me and asked me to come in at 11.30. She wants to feel my stomach as she said it doesn’t seem normal the amount of diarrhoea linked with the pain. She also asked me to bring a urine sample which I am currently struggling to provide as I think I am dehydrated. Trying to stomach some squash but cant eat as I’m afraid I’ll have diarrhoea again.

I am nervous about going to the doctor but I am pleased she is taking me seriously after having no joy with midwives the last few days. I am concerned that taking my folic acid and vitamin d is pointless right now as it is surely just passing through me within hours?
