Zero symptoms here either girls, I had none with my 2 year old daughter either so I'm hoping it continues!

BlueSky57 · 19/01/2022 15:43

I did not have a good night last night. For the second time this week I was woken up by horrific stomach pains/cramps and needed to poo really badly at 1am. It was my 3rd time going in 24 hours & the pain lasted nearly 15 minutes this time. It was so bad I thought I’d pass out at one point so I’m giving the midwife a call soon to ask if it’s normal and if there’s anything I can do to help.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the pregnacare multivitamin is not agreeing with me. Planning on taking folic & vitamin D only for a few days to see if it helps

annlee3817 · 19/01/2022 15:52

@Glitterygreen I actually asked my physio about this, and he said that it's not like you're going from never having exercised to suddenly trying to run regularly or suddenly going to the gym, just listen to your body and see how you go. I'll be taking it slow anyway because of the injury, before that I was training for another marathon, so was running fairly regularly, but had been fairly slack in the months prior to that.

Glitterygreen · 19/01/2022 16:41

Thanks @annlee3817, I think I will crack on and just see how it goes.

When I've been looking a bit further into it it seems the guidance to stick to what you've already been doing seems to be more to do with your own ability/balance/knowledge of what you can do safely than with the movement of the exercise actually doing any damage itself. So think I'll try and get back into some steady runs and swimming :)

Billymay · 19/01/2022 17:06

Does anyone else get really shaky if their blood sugar is low… I had this with my previous girl pregnancy and it’s just happened to me… honestly thought I was going to pass out. I need to eat more but I don’t fancy anything xxx

Pinkflamingofly · 19/01/2022 17:11

@Billymay I emailed my hospital today for the midwife self referral, we dont have to phone the doctors anymore when I live. I've been taking supplements for months, but switched to the pregnancy yesterday when I found out

Gemmasl35 · 19/01/2022 18:44

@Belle2210 hi just saw your post about maybe having twins as your dads a twin my dad is a twin to but when reading up on this it's only passed down through females so if your mum was a twin or had twins it would increase your chances but dad being a twin doesn't increase your chances anymore that anyone else but I myself also have an odd feeling there's more than one in there this is my fourth pregnancy and it Definitely feels different from the rest I have a scan on Monday so will see then x

Flibbyjibby · 19/01/2022 19:04

So got my 12week scan date through! It’s all starting to become a bit more real now. Just hoping that everything goes well as only 6 weeks 🤞

TotoAnnihiliation · 19/01/2022 19:16

I've noticed that I'm swearing quite a bit more. By the end of the day - I stink! This is a bit delicate, is anyone else experiencing the same?

madeleine85 · 19/01/2022 19:27

@TotoAnnihiliation swearing or sweating lol

Hopingforarainbow27 · 19/01/2022 19:28

Hi everyone. I'm 5 weeks I think and I keep getting a dull ache, nearly like my period could come. Is this normal? I never had it with the other two pregnancies

TotoAnnihiliation · 19/01/2022 19:31

@madeleine85 ha ha! A bit of both! I was referring to sweating! I feel so pongy!

girafferafferaffe · 19/01/2022 20:38

Yeah I feel like I stink as well. I'm oily too and I hate it.

Moonshine160 · 19/01/2022 20:45

Hi everyone, can I join? I recognise some names from the conception board Grin

I’m just over 4 weeks pregnant I think. Period was due yesterday and fortunately no sign of it showing up. I have had some cramps and yellowish discharge though. I’m also SO bloated!

Other than strong sense of smell I haven’t really got any symptoms yet. I’m glad I feel normal but it also makes me worry in case something could be wrong. I’m going to book a private early scan around 7-8 weeks for some reassurance.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

MrsFLongbottom · 19/01/2022 21:04

@Glitterygreen I remember feeling like that in my first pregnancy- and life does change but you adapt and find ways to make time for yourself and your partner. My little boy is 2 and we're all in a nice routine now but I expect that will all go to pot if all goes well with this pregnancy! It's making me feel a bit panicked about how well manage 2, how we'll afford everything and how I'll ever get any sleep again- but we did it once!

Whoknew22 · 19/01/2022 21:21

@MrsFLongbottom totally with you. Have a 2 year old too. He’s amazing but not the best sleeper so that majorly concerns me. Nursery fees and how the hell were going to afford 2 but you always get by don’t we? All you need is love, health and happiness

petitlapin1 · 19/01/2022 21:28

@TotoAnnihiliation I'm going to need to change my deodorant if I continue to smell so bad through the whole pregnancy as I have the last week or so. Hoping it's just my heightened sense of smell 🤞😳

If my bloods on Friday are ok and I get a scan next week then I'm treating myself to a maternity bra. Thought I was having central chest pain tonight then realised I was being crushed by my (already industrial) bra! 😂 Any recommendations?

TotoAnnihiliation · 19/01/2022 21:33

I also need a new bra, I'm worried about jinxing myself by buying a maternity bra this early on though!

petitlapin1 · 19/01/2022 21:42

@TotoAnnihiliation Yes, I feel the same. Last time I didn't buy one in case it jinxed it, and it ended in MC. So this time I'm just going to do it (after a scan) and cross my fingers. Even if this one doesn't end well, future-me might be glad I bought one now.

And really I don't have a choice as I am busting out of my others! 🙈 Although finding a very large one is looking a bit tricky without spending the maternity leave savings!

madeleine85 · 19/01/2022 21:48

@TotoAnnihiliation I caved 2 weeks ago. My boobs are as big as they were by the end of pregnancy with my DD already. I'd just run the risk and buy it, even if it doesn't stick, you have a PMS bra waiting/washing day bra if ever needed. Amazon had some good cheapies.

@MrsFLongbottom and @Whoknew22 I am the same, DD just turned 2. Dreading the double cost of childcare and actively willing our eldest to be in school already. It also feels like daycare is so hit and miss right now with covid and closures that we pretty much only have care part time, despite paying full time. I'm also a little worried this is a boy as everything we have is for girls. Fun times!

@Moonshine160 welcome!! So good to see you over here :) How are you feeling?

Thank you @madeleine85
I feel ok really! Had a moment earlier where I felt a bit sicky when I hadn’t eaten in a while and I have a really strong sense of smell but other than that I feel fairly normal! I obviously want to feel normal but also worried that feeling like this means there’s something wrong :( How are you feeling? X

annlee3817 · 19/01/2022 21:56

I gave in and got a couple of new bras, just standard non wired ones rather than maternity ones. Figleaves is usually good for sales, I used to get some lovely nursing bras from there.

My DD lays in until 9 at the weekends because she stays up a little later, and it's bliss for us, so think early starts will be a bit of a shock to the system 😖 she was a terrible sleeper as a baby though, so feel like this is deserved lol

Thank you for the common sense talk. I'm going to buy the bras rather than squirming round in discomfort. I'm holding out for a whole new maternity wardrobe at 12 weeks for everything else.

I'm so bloated today, I look about 5 months rather than 5 weeks. Must be hormonal!

madeleine85 · 19/01/2022 22:42

@Moonshine160 i', glad you are doing well! I'm 7-8 weeks now, which feels good. I had HG last time which by some miracle doesn't seem to be happening this time around. I feel queasy and cannot look at chicken for some reason, but I am not actually being sick. I can also still eat vegetables which is a huge win for my diet. Still tired, and a bit out of sorts, but much more functional than I was with DD, so i'll not be surprised if it is a boy as it just feels so different. Someone is giving me a pregnancy doppler today I think so i'm looking forward to being able to hear a heartbeat assuming all is well/the bean is big enough either now, or in a few weeks. Theres a startup here which does blood sex testing, so sent that in yesterday. I know there is a massive margin of error/living with a man means that it can pick up male DNA if it is on your skin, but i'm cautiously optimistic that I was careful and should know the sex in a week or so. Still getting the doctor to confirm it though! Feels really exciting now. Risk of MC is still high, but just good to know there was a heartbeat last week, so that takes some stress off. Hoping those with scans coming up get that reassurance very soon x

Hi everyone. Is there a facebook group I can join for September mummies? I can't keep up with mumsnet x
