Unsure about anywhere else, but in Scotland, our midwives gives us essentially a textbook on all things baby called 'ready, steady, baby'. It covers everything from conception to after the birth & goes through GIRFEC as well.
I'm well versed on child development, GIRFEC & all things play related but taking care of a baby, that's solely my responsibility is a major anxiety for me right now, despite my many years working with Children & all the qualifications that goes with it 🙈😂 Have an online antenatal class in the morning that'll go through baby care - like bathing, cord care, feeding etc... Hoping that'll help ease my anxiety 😬😂
@ShellUK09 My midwife recommended taking my prenatal vitamins all through. In Scotland, we get ours for free from the doctor. They're called 'healthy start vitamins' and they contain Vit C, D & Folic Acid. I also take another dose of folic acid on top of those as prior to me conceiving, I was diagnosed with folate anemia - I've to take that all through my pregnancy but no idea if I just stop once baby is here. I'll need to discuss that with my midwife 😬😂
Vitamin D is definitely important, especially at this time of year, so would recommend taking that for sure but if your diet is well balanced, you should be okay for everything else :)
Completely off topic to what's being discussed recently... Anyone else being kept awake by those baby flutters?! 😩 She's proper using me as a punching bag & the sensation genuinely makes me want to heave 😂😂
