Is anyone unvaccinated and pregnant?

No that would be hugely irresponsible.
You are more likely to give birth pre term or have a still birth if you contract Covid in the third trimester.

Intensive care units have noticed a lot of unvaccinated ill patients are pregnant women

HacerSonarSusPasos · 23/12/2021 14:06

Why do you want to know? Just to cement your belief that you are doing the right thing? You aren't! And just because others are making the same irresponsible choice, it doesnt make it any more sensible.

Shmithecat2 · 23/12/2021 14:12

Do you think if you keep starting different threads that might hear what you want to hear rather than what you've already been told? 🙄

HacerSonarSusPasos · 23/12/2021 14:12

Also, you weren’t happy with the advice you got on yesterday's thread? What will this new one accomplish?

Go get vaccinated if you value your health and that of you baby.

sunsshineshowerss · 23/12/2021 14:13

No definitely not. I'm pregnant and just had my covid booster happily.

I certainly don't know more than scientists and health professionals, so I'd rather try and do what's right instead of risk myself and my baby on the back of non factual info off of people off the internet with zero medical certification.

BabyC21 · 23/12/2021 14:13

No

Plus potentially flu and whooping cough risks at this time of year if she hasn't had those either.
Starcaller · 23/12/2021 14:15

Nope, 14 weeks and just got my booster, thank goodness!

OakRowan · 23/12/2021 14:16

No, 20 weeks, had my booster yesterday. Better than dying and leaving my existing without a mother or losing my baby, leaving DH a widow.

Scirocco · 23/12/2021 14:18

Some people are still choosing to be unvaccinated, but all the available evidence indicates that vaccination is safe and effective at reducing your risks of a) catching COVID, and b) experiencing complications if you do catch it.

Almost all of the pregnant patients requiring ICU care are unvaccinated.

Personally, I've had both standard doses plus a booster, as the clinical evidence indicates that's the safest option for reducing the risks for me and for my baby.

Are there any specific questions you have in your mind about vaccination?

RainbowDrops91 · 23/12/2021 14:23

Hey, I'm unvaccinated during pregnancy for specific health reasons, was there anything you wanted to ask in particular? Lots of posters on this forum are very pro vax and don't understand there's a group of unvaccinated for a reason. Please try ignore them, it's totally your choice. They made their choice, good for them Smile
vodkaredbullgirl · 23/12/2021 14:23
Hmm
Trinacham · 23/12/2021 14:24

Yep. And have had covid. Mildest virus I've ever had. My symptoms were a runny nose and sneezing.

HacerSonarSusPasos · 23/12/2021 14:29

FindingsIn this multinational cohort study of 2130 pregnant women in 18 countries, women with COVID-19 diagnosis were at increased risk of a composite maternal morbidity and mortality index. Newborns of women with COVID-19 diagnosis had significantly higher severe neonatal morbidity index and severe perinatal morbidity and mortality index compared with newborns of women without COVID-19 diagnosis.

@RainbowDrops91 what specific health reasons?

sleepyhoglet · 23/12/2021 14:30

I have a friend who is 18 weeks pregnant and has no intention of being vaccinated. She also plans a home birth. I can't understand it. She has a public facing job but luckily plans to go on mat leave as soon as she can

Alisha32 · 23/12/2021 14:31

@RainbowDrops91 honestly a lot of rude people on this thread just because I have made another thread they are getting triggered I can ask questions if I want and making me feel like I am a bad mother for not getting vaccinated I have concerns regardless either way

But if you caught covid and your baby was born prematurely or stillborn you would be a bad mother. No way around it!

Scirocco · 23/12/2021 14:34

@Alisha32 what are your questions? I'm sure people would be happy to answer.

The best thing to do is read up about it as much as you can - articles (sometimes not reliable), data, covid with pregnancy etc. and make your mind up from there. Nurses and doctors will tell you all the side effects of covid but not exactly everything about the vaccine side effects so that's why it's best to gather as much data as you can yourself and then come up with a decision. Best thing you can do right now is mask up, sanitise and try isolate when you can to keep you and baby safe. Wishing you well X

Are you asking out of genuine care or because you want to attempt insulting me? I genuinely am not sure which direction you're coming from, sorry!

Scirocco · 23/12/2021 14:44

@RainbowDrops91, healthcare professionals will tell you the evidence for and against interventions. It's a requirement for someone's informed consent. The reason there isn't much in the way of "here's a bad thing about the vaccines" is that the evidence shows really good safety for the vaccines in most populations.

There are some people for whom vaccination may not be an option, and those people should be able to access advice and support from their own specialists about how to keep themselves safe.

HacerSonarSusPasos · 23/12/2021 14:46
@HacerSonarSusPasos and what if you had your baby vaccinated and your BABY WAS BORN STILLBORN
I linked you a scientific peer reviewed article about the increased risk of still birth in covid patients.

Please share with me equivalent studies which show the same risk associated with the vaccination.
