Is anyone unvaccinated and pregnant?

@Alisha32 oh that’s a shame. I wouldn’t dare post my views on here as I will get absolutely slated like I did in the previous post and the post will probably get removed. As I said in the previous post I am a pharmacist who studies vaccines (not that I was believed) and I have chosen not to be vaccinated. You only need to dig deeper to see other articles that aren’t on mainstream media.

bantuknots73 · 23/12/2021 19:34

I'm 20 weeks pregnant and not vaccinated, so you're not alone in being unvaccinated

I completely agree with you. Dig deeper, don’t read mainstream media. I come from a family of doctors and scientists, my aunt who has dedicated her life to science, phd in pathology, has advised against the vaccine. I have also done copious research myself.

@Alychloe
Any chance you could PM me those articles? - I understand why you wouldn't want to share them here.

For full disclosure, I am fully vaccinated and very happy with my decision but genuinely interested to understand upon which evidence others have made their decision not to get vaccinated.
I've searched and searched for articles showing dangers related to Covid vaccination in pregnancy but can never find anything at all (not even "conspiracy theory" ones). I guess its maybe Google showing me what it thinks I want to see.

Ethelfromnumber73 · 23/12/2021 19:57

Please see this. So important to be vaccinated if you are pregnant

I too would really like to read those articles!

@Ethelfromnumber73, preposterous, isn't it? And guess which single post will OP fixate on and use as validation? It's so sad

Alisha32 · 23/12/2021 20:16

How can I private message ?

@Farrowblue

My best advise to you is to stay active, ensure you boost your immune system with nutritious food and don’t stress yourself out. Gather as much information yourself as you can so you can make an informed decision yourself. Don’t go onto mumsnet for information, the majority of people on here spew nonsense, 99% of which has no legitimate evidence.
The irony Hmm

@Farrowblue then your sister should have her registration removed because she is endangering women's lives. A few weeks ago, around 1 in every 6 covid ITU patients was a pregnant woman. Pregnancy itself is a risk factor for covid complications (the same is true for flu).

ThelastRolo20 · 23/12/2021 20:42

First jab at 9 weeks, 12 week scan spot on, second jab just before 20 week scan and that was all fine. Currently 37 weeks and just had my booster, I'm infinitely more confident that the vaccine is a safer option than catching covid. Statistics don't really lie... But by the sounds of it you're not open to other opinions on it so just make a choice and crack on!

HacerSonarSusPasos · 23/12/2021 20:42

Oh wow, none of the people boasting to have research proving the damaging effects of the vaccine have answered my request to please share it with us. Color me surprised!

This woman wasn't vaccinated, because it wasn't recommended at the time. Her husband urges all pregnant women to follow the latest advice on this, and get vaccinated during pregnancy.

MrsKeats · 23/12/2021 21:17

No as that would be mad.

Jtb5790 · 23/12/2021 21:28

My wife is. We are really torn about it though. They refused to give her the 2nd vaccine in early pregnancy which made us worry about having it later on also. But then weighing up the risk of getting COVID. It's tricky. But ultimately everyone's personal choice.

LucyOrli · 23/12/2021 21:31

I can’t advise you but I can tell you about my experience. I was vaccinated with the Pfizer jab during pregnancy. I also caught Covid at 36 weeks pregnant despite not leaving the house except for antenatal appointments and I am certain that the reason my symptoms were mild was because of the vaccine. I am looking at my healthy, happy 10 day old son right now as he naps next to me. He is already lifting his head, gaining weight, tracking his father and me with his eyes etc etc. He is perfect. The idea that he could have been stillborn fills me with an uncontrollable terror, and the risk of that with Covid is very real. My DH is a statistician, and when I was pondering the vaccine, he calculated that the risk of an adverse reaction to the jab was lower than my risk of being struck by lightning, and far lower than the risk of having a car accident.

No decision is risk-free, but not all risks are the same. Good luck with whatever you decide.

JaffavsCookie · 23/12/2021 21:55

@RainbowDrops91 you make no sense, in one post you say you had adverse reactions to both pfizer and moderna, yes in others you say you are unvaccinated. Can’t possibly be both Xmas Hmm

Blossom987 · 23/12/2021 22:49

Admittedly I wasn’t pregnant when I had my vaccines but my thought process would be the same. I don’t know enough about vaccines in general to know if there can be any long term effects - I trust our nhs programme for existing vaccines and didn’t think twice about having flu jab or whooping cough vaccine in pregnancy.

However even if there was some unknown long term risk yet to be discovered, I decided the biggest risk right now was covid. We are in a pandemic. If something happened in the future as a result of the vaccine I will be content knowing I had made the best decision i could at the time to protect myself from the more immediate threat of covid.

However I knew if I didn’t have the vaccine and ended up severely ill with covid and knew I was dying, I would seriously regret with every bone in my body not having the vaccine and it would be too late to undo it. And there have been too many sad reports of unvaccinated people saying they wish they had had the vaccine, or begging for it in hospital, before they sadly passed away. This just reaffirms I made the right decision.

I would feel this regret a thousand times more if this happened whilst pregnant and my baby lost its mother or god forbid my baby died.

Are there any studies by anyone that don't have a significant conflict of interest (Nuffield projects funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, for example)?
