Yeah @jadey1991 I'm thinking the same add a porridge or pureed fruit or veg but mostly still breast milk. Surely can't do any harm. I think I'll wait until 4 months at least. He's 3 months right now

jadey1991 · 02/04/2022 09:34

Yes I do think Josiah is ready, but I wonder if his gut is.. I'm not ready for the constipation that comes with it... I have to prepare myself🤦🏽‍♀️

Anyone who's had c-sections - I still can't feel properly from my belly button down to my scar and when I knock my scar or Jack kicks it, it's still tender. Is only been 3 and 1/2 month but is this normal?

Theawkwardblonde · 03/04/2022 22:49

@LouLou0505 I had a section. It's not the most sensitive but I do have feeling (just pinched below belly button to check 😂).

I have been doing a lot of scar massage though so not sure if that has helped? I do still get the odd tender moment. I did too much in the gym and pulled my stomach..scar was very sore for a few days. It's also very tender when I'm on my period now too.

LouLou0505 · 04/04/2022 13:32

@Theawkwardblonde - thanks for pinching to let me know hahaha!!

I didn't know there was such thing as a scar massage?!

I just had to go up the hospital for a follow up from my smear last year that I had before I knew I was pregnant. I have abnormal cells so they had to have a look and it's the first time anything has been around that region and my god it was uncomfortable 😂

Deep down I'm glad Jack came out the sunroof 😂

They did say it was normal to still not have any feeling on my tummy so I guess I'll just wait and see 🤷🏻‍♀️

jadey1991 · 04/04/2022 14:04

@LouLou0505 I do hope it gets better soon hun x

Josiah is currently 15 weeks he will be 16 weeks on Wednesday... my gosh has it gone so fast... we will trying him on some porridge Wednesday... Josiah is lifting his head up nice and high now and does so even whilst on his bouncer. He is getting soooo big now.... he is teething and I'm he is absolutely fine no fuss at all. I am currently waiting for doctors to get back to me regarding his second lot of vaccinations.. his sleeping pattern is really good... he will settle for bed around 22:30-4:30. Have a feed and nappy change and the. Sleep from 5am-9:30... I'm really happy with this.
Josiah is also starting to try grab his toes... anyone else baby doing this!?

@jadey1991 - oh Josiah you big boy!! I hope he gets on well with his food!!

Brilliant about his sleep! Jack sleeps from around 8pm then will wake up for a bum change and bottle from anywhere between 2am-5am then goes back to sleep till about 6.30/7am which I'm fine with!

Josiah and Jack have similar face expressions 😂

@LouLou0505 aww bless look at jack... look how much he has grown... I love his facial expressions. You are so right about them both having the same facial expressions tho... jacks sleeping pattern is good...
I think I jinxed myself. I am currently still awake with Josiah. He actually woke up from his sleep screaming and crying....

We're currently in the middle of the 4 month sleep regression, if you haven't heard of it look it up, it's a nightmare! Dexter was doing pretty well with his sleep and going 5-6 hours at a time, for the past 5 nights though he's reverted back to waking every 2 hours like he did when he was a baby! I'm exhausted and praying that he works out how to sleep properly again soon... If any of you find that your normally good sleepers are being more wakeful, it could be that!

LouLou0505 · 05/04/2022 06:49

@jadey1991 - oh no!! How did he go off in the end?

Jacks just done 8:30-6:30!! I did put him in with me at 4.30 though because he was struggling with wind in his sleep!

@burtle4 - I've heard of this but no one I know struggled with it so I don't know much about it! He'll be 4 months in a few weeks so we'll see! 🤞🏼

Theawkwardblonde · 05/04/2022 07:25

@LouLou0505 I read somewhere that massaging your scar daily helps promote tissue recovery. Could be a load of rubbish like but I've been massaging it every night with bio oil. At the very least it's helped the redness fade and made the scar nice and smooth ☺️

@burtle4 that sounds awful! My friend went through this quite badly. I'm hoping little one stays fine on a night.

She's still murder getting her to nap during the day, but goes down about 8pm, up at 2ish for quick feed/change then back down till about 7.

jadey1991 · 05/04/2022 13:07

@burtle4 thanks for that info hun. I actually think Josiah is doing just that. I can't believe how quick it changed. I actually feel so run down from exhaustion...

@LouLou0505 he went off about 1am🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️xx

OP posts:
burtle4 · 05/04/2022 16:14

@jadey1991 hopefully it was just a one off and not the regression because that sounds hard if he didn't sleep until 1am! Luckily Dexter hasn't been difficult to settle but he just wakes so frequently. After about 5 nights of waking every 2 hours though he was a bit more settled last night and did 5.5 hours when he first went down so that was good. I hope tonight is a bit better for you!

jadey1991 · 05/04/2022 16:27

@burtle4 thanks hun. I do hope it will stop soon but I do know he is teething so maybe his gums are hurting but not showing that he is in any pain. Fingers crossed for tonight

@jadey1991 aww hopefully Josiah is just having an off night or 2 and will be back to his usual sleep pattern. Matthew remains the same with the 12-9am sleep but with a couple of wake ups for breast feeds. I don't change him during the night unless he's done a poo (extremely rare). He's still right beside me so the night feeds aren't really disruptive. The only trouble I've had is the odd night getting him down when he was overtired. Those nights I had to walk him around in my arms for a while until he was really drowsy whereas normally he falls asleep easily after a breastfeed. Overtired has always been due to visitors coming in the evenings messing with the evening nap.

LouLou0505 · 06/04/2022 10:36

I've just spent 2 hours trying to get Jack to either sleep in his next to me, his cot in his room or his swing chair...

I've given up and he's now asleep on me again after a lot of tears... mine and his.

I don't understand how a baby that sleeps well at night in his crib won't go down in the day 🤷🏻‍♀️

He sleeps in the car and his buggy fine 🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm guessing I just have to keep trying each day? I just want one nap where I can get on with things in the house

jadey1991 · 06/04/2022 12:15

Josiah slept really well last night.. went down at 9pm till 4am woke for a feed then back to sleep till 12pm... I wonder how he will sleep during the day...
@LouLou0505 bless u hun... do you leave him to cry? Or do you pick him up as soon as he cries

OP posts:
LouLou0505 · 06/04/2022 12:29

@jadey1991 - good boy Josiah!!

He moans more than cries and I leave him but when he actually cries I go in to him.

He's just woken up after a 2hr nap on me 😂 so I'm just going to keep putting him down for his morning nap I'll try for 30min and if he doesn't go off I'll try again the next day.

It's not like he hates his crib because he does go in there in the day if I need the loo or am sorting something I put him in to get used to it and he likes to kick around and giggle.

I'm the definition of a first time mum just winging it 😂

LouLou0505 · 06/04/2022 12:32

This is his face after waking up 😂 I recon he'll have another 2hr nap later this afternoon and then that'll be it 😂

2020mission · 06/04/2022 12:37

Aww definitely not pleased there @LouLou0505 😆 very cute though! Does the next to me crib rock? My bedside crib rocks and it's the only way I can get Matthew down in it for daytime naps. I put him in when he's getting quite sleepy or drowsy and have to rock it until his eyes are closed. Similarly, he will simply not sleep in the crib through the night but will go off for naps in it during the day 🤷‍♀️ so he's in with me at night still. He screams if I get up during the night for a trip to the loo if he's not in a deep sleep. I think he just wants the boobs right there for him whenever he fancies it 😂

LouLou0505 · 06/04/2022 12:45

@2020mission - makes me laugh!!

No sadly mine doesn't rock! With Jack we can go from playing perfectly to crying in need of a nap so I really don't get the drowsy part sadly!

But I'll keep trying! He's not 4months yet so I've got plenty of time it's just I'd like to get stuff done. At the moment I can leave him on his play mat very happily while I have a tidy but I'd rather be playing with him! My husband doesn't get home till late either so if I waited for him I'd be even more exhausted! I go to bed at 9pm with Jack 😂

How weird that Matthew is the opposite! He clearly loves the boobs too much 😂

jadey1991 · 06/04/2022 14:19

@LouLou0505 aw bless him.. no your fine hun it happens to the best of us... have u got a play mat/gym for him?
