It really is just luck if I look on here and see comments 😂

@jadey1991- Josiah looks so grown up in those pics 😩

@Curlymam88 & @Decadesbcun - look at them!! I can't cope with all these beautiful babies! What happened to our little scan pics?! 😂

Here's some pics of Jack doing some tummy time he loves toys and his fave is either a foil blanket or a fisher price piano play mat he's obsessed!!

The other pic I took this morning of him just chilling out in bed in his rugby sleepsuit 😂 he looks like a little teenage slobbing out 😍

@jadey1991 - thanks!

I got Jack some baby rice this weekend because he's been a pain with his bottles but he's not interested at all in the rice so he's defo not ready yet and I'm fine with that! He's 14weeks so got plenty of time 😂

jadey1991 · 29/03/2022 20:29

@LouLou0505 aww bless him... to be honest I've been trying to give Josiah bottles to because he is extra hungry but he don't take to it. Instead he would rather cluster feed... then on top of that when he has latched he gets upsets because the milk isn't flowing fast enough.... I just don't know when to start Josiah

We had a lovely mother's day here thanks. Had a takeaway and went out for the day. Was lovely.
Leola is eating bits of solids. I tend to give her a bit of porridge (not too thick though) for breakfast, she has some of my banana mashed up at lunch and sometimes a bit of the fruit pots. Shes enjoying her food. Shes 4 months next week!!!

Ahhh, so lovely to see all the babies growing up fast! I feel like every day Dexter is changing and I can't believe how quickly it's happening! He's so much better with his sleep now (touch wood) and you can tell he really looks forward to his bedtime which is brilliant. He still wakes a couple of times through the night but usually feeds and goes straight back to sleep so can't complain. He's also getting so big, almost 8kg at the last weigh in a few weeks ago and already in 6-9 clothes, holding him is like having workout 😂
We had a lovely mother's day but couldn't go anywhere as we still have covid in the house. But the kids gave me cards and some chocolates and my husband made me a delicious cake.
I've been giving him one bottle before bed which he would only take if I breastfed him first which was kind of defeating the purpose of it so I ordered a different brand of bottle and used it for the first time tonight and he drank all the milk without a fuss and didn't need to feed from me at all! Just shows it pays to try different brands of things before giving up.
Attached a couple of pics, first one is him 'eating' some playdough waffles that his big brother made him 😂

Glad to hear everyone had a decent Mother's Day and all the photos of the babies are adorable! 🥰

@burtle4 what was the miracle bottle you used? I've always just used MAMs when feeding top ups around breastfeeding. They make squeaking sounds when Matthew's drinking but I don't know if it's normal or just the way he drinks 😅

burtle4 · 30/03/2022 01:25

@2020mission haha, I've always just used Avent bottles previously and my children have never had an issue with them. Dexter's never been a fan of putting anything in his mouth other than a boob though ie. he won't take a dummy and just spits it out every time I try. So I knew that whatever bottle I tried would need to be as close to breastfeeding as possible and after a bit of research I found the Lansinoh bottles to have the best reviews for that. I'm hoping it wasn't just a one off but he seems to be really accepting of them!
Typically after saying how much better his sleep is now, this is already the second time tonight he's been up feeding 🤦‍♀️ so he'll probably be off the bottle tomorrow as I've jinxed everything 😂

jadey1991 · 30/03/2022 07:59

@burtle4 aww doesn't Dexter look so grown up.. he looks absolutely gorgeous... loving that pic of him staring at the play doh waffle... glad your had a lovely Mother's Day.

It's a Lansinoh bottle lansinoh.co.uk/collections/feeding-bottles-teats
You can get them from amazon and they're not too expensive. They're supposed to mimic the shape and feel of a nipple and I was amazed at how easily Dexter accepted it as whenever I tried the Avent bottles he would scream at me until I would give in and breastfeed!

jadey1991 · 30/03/2022 11:08

@burtle4 thanks hun I might have to look them up myself.

@jadey1991 @Curlymam88 @burtle4 @LouLou0505 @2020mission aw wow look at how big they have all got! Beautiful babies ❤ Glad babies are all doing well....how are you mums doing? Happy belated mother's day to you all aswell its lovely hearing how you all spent it! I got spoilt by my lot....favourite part was when they all piled on our bed with cards, pressies, kisses and cuddles! 🥰 In my 4yr olds handmade card from school it said I love my mum she makes my dinner,I love sauce' lol Oscar is doing really well,14wks now and weighs 16lb on our scales at home! He is such a character.....very smiley, chatty and also quite needy and temperamental! His scream is honestly the most awful sound and he uses it often 😅 he doesn't give me much warning or time to do bottles and literally screams the house down.....we even still use ready made formula in the night just for quickness! He has become quite the dictator and it's a struggle getting anything done when I want to do it... Seems to be having a growth spurt as he is still having bottles 3hourly during the night aswell most days and it's exhausting! He watches us all eat and does lip smacking so I think he's getting ready for food which will be happening soon and I hope he will start sleeping through. Our other children brake up from school/nursery this friday for 2 weeks Easter hols so excited for some fun! I lost my mojo the other day and felt really low and piled high with pressure and responsibilities.....I think lack of sleep and the baby screams and terrible 2yr old tantrums is a torturous mix and finally got the better of me,a good cry and rant to hubby and I feel back on form again but it's important to say I'm not always up....unfortunately nobody can be all the time! I'm enjoying the gym and getting my body and self back in shape, got Oscars christening in May and a wedding in August so it's good incentive 😊 will finish with pic of Oscar our little trouble maker but who absolutely melts our hearts,he reminds me of a mini car salesman with his slick hairdo 🤣

Lovely photos of all the babies. And I'm glad everyone had a lovely mothers day 😊
@lovebeingmum9 hope your kids have a lovely Easter break. We don't break up here in Wales until next week for 2 weeks. We are going away for 4 nights and I'm freaking out a bit about what I needbto take and if I'll remember to take everything I need for baby. Not like there won't be shops around but still.
I know how you feel about losing it sometimes, its the tiredness that makes everything 100% worse than usual. Im glad you're feeling a bit better now and enjoying the gym.

jadey1991 · 31/03/2022 21:41

@lovebeingmum9 hey hun lovely to hear from you... Oscar is looking so lovely. Look how much hair he has... I have to say he looks so much like to @lovebeingmum9 ...... glad he is gaining good weight. Shame he is still waking 3 hourly...
My girls break up for half term tomorrow.... youngest daughter breaks up at 2pm and eldest @ 12pm(I find rather silly)

Anyone got plans for Easter holiday

We're hopefully going to France to see my mum and dad for the first time in over two years! I honestly can't wait but trying not to think about it too much as the last two times we've tried to go it's been cancelled due to covid. Will be amazing to finally introduce them to Dexter if it does happen though. Got his passport through a couple of days ago, he looks so cute in the photo 😂

Theawkwardblonde · 31/03/2022 23:16

Wow I'd missed a lot! Lovely to see you all have a nice Mother's Day and lovely seeing how you and babies are doing ☺️
We went to our local aquarium on Mother's Day! Little one absolutely loved it, guess it was like a massive sensory play area for her.

I'm clueless on when to wean baby S..our HV has left so I'm now not getting the visit about weaning as they have no staff to cover. How do I know when she is ready to try some food? She's 12 weeks today.

jadey1991 · 01/04/2022 07:54

@burtle4 oh wow hun that sounds so lovely. I do hope you see your parents.. it will be nice for them to meet Dexter.
I don't really have anything planned. Might take them zoo, got my sisters baby shower on Saturday and over Easter weekend I'll do an Easter egg hunt..

@Theawkwardblonde you will know when baby s is ready to start eating.. I can tell Josiah is ready because he mimics is when we are eating and I just have that feeling he is ready. We are going to try him on some food next week when he is 16 weeks

OP posts:
burtle4 · 01/04/2022 08:12

@Theawkwardblonde it's recommended you don't start before 4 months or 17 weeks at the earliest, just because of development of the gut etc but everyone knows their own baby and ultimately it's your decision. I'm in no rush as I know that things start to get so much more complicated once you start to introduce food as well, constant cycle of food and milk all day, plus having to remember to take food with you places rather than just sticking them on the boob 😂

2020mission · 01/04/2022 11:25

Part of the reason (from what I've read) that the nhs recommend waiting until 6 months is because milk (formula or breast) has all their necessary nutrients and they are concerned if people switch out milk for some foods it will reduce the amount of nutrients they are getting (e.g. if you start filling them with empty carbs like baby rice). I think it's just a case of picking good foods and not removing too much milk too quickly?

2020mission · 01/04/2022 11:27

I meant empty calories with the baby rice 😅 it's all carbs
