@CoalCraft I also have the dry mouth especially at night then as soon as I drink something I need to pee about 20 times!nightmare
I found today that eating watermelon really helped with this! Random but so refreshing!
Good luck with your scan tomorrow 😊
And good luck to the rest of you awaiting scans also!

squatternutbosh12 · 01/02/2022 21:25

Erm so just discovered that a magic egg is in fact some kind of vibrator so changed my username.. 😂 😂 😳 😳

madeleine85 · 01/02/2022 21:43

@squatternutbosh12 heya, and lol, great entrance :) That made me laugh out loud. My 10 week is this Friday, good luck for yours! I hate the full pannel ones. Tried them last time and it felt like so much fabric/coverage, irritated me so much. I saw gap has some maternity ones which just have a wee bit of elastic at the pockets to give a little bit extra in the first few months. I'm really considering trying some.

squatternutbosh12 · 01/02/2022 21:52

@madeleine85 ah thank you for the suggestion, will definitely check out the Gap ones! And lol glad to have raised a smile 😂
Good luck for Friday let us know how it goes :)

@squatternutbosh12 I’m awaiting Harmony results too 😬 Had my scan on Saturday and measured 10w5d. Can’t wait to find out if they’re a boy or girl.

First NHS scan is on Valentine’s Day too @Minnie296! Should be dating 13 weeks at that one.

My nausea has finally passed 🙌🏼 It was with me from 5-9 weeks and worst 5-8 so pleased to see the back of it. Was so bad I had to tell two girls I work very closely with at the office, which now feels risky as I feel better and don’t plan on telling work until 14/15 weeks... Boobs have hurt since week 5 and don’t seem to be stopping any time soon. And I’m SO tired. All the time.

CoalCraft · 02/02/2022 08:32

I'm not planning on having a harmony done but will go for the screening at the dating scan... If little one plays ball! With DD she just wouldn't get into the right position for nuchal fold measurements and I had to have the quad screening later on.

Anyone else been trying to feel their uterus?? I read you could feel it from 11 weeks and I think I found it but not at all sure. I didn't really know to try with DD so nothing to compare it with.

surprised12 · 02/02/2022 08:39

Desperate for my 12 week scan to be soon! It's so much easier when you have a milestone to countdown to. I'm 11 weeks on Friday, rand the hospital yesterday to ask if they had any idea when it might be....
they just told me if I hadn't heard anything by 26 Feb to ring back.

Anyone else still waiting on their 12 week scan? I really want to tell family because it's so hard to not slip up but I want the okay from the scan first! ;(

squatternutbosh12 · 02/02/2022 08:51

@netflixandnochill good luck for your harmony results! I’ve been back and forth ‘it’s definitely a girl.. no it’s definitely a boy.. nope, girl… boy..’ for weeks! 😆
Glad your nausea has gone and yeah the fatigue is really something else isn’t it 😱

@CoalCraft yes been trying to feel mine! I think it feels generally ‘firmer’ around my lower abdomen but prob not big enough to really feel anything specific yet. Things definitely feel… bulkier…

@surprised12 aw man that seems like a really long time to wait :( you would be 14 weeks by the 26th and i would feel the same as you do.. you could perhaps call your midwife instead and see if they can sort anything for you? Unless it was already midwife you spoke to in which case ignore me and hoping you hear really soon x

Cakecakecheese · 02/02/2022 08:53

@surprised12 That's really bad you've not heard anything. I'm 12 +3, my scan is on Monday and I got that appointment through in December. It's a stressful enough time as it is without having to be chasing up an appointment.

Cakecakecheese · 02/02/2022 08:56

@surprised12 just a thought, have they got your due date down correctly? My midwife and scan appointments were a little further on than I expected and it turns out they had my due date 3 weeks later than it actually is!

netflixandnochill · 02/02/2022 09:19

@squatternutbosh12 I’m convinced boy. DH is adamant they’re a girl.

@CoalCraft I’ve tried to 😂 I feel a bit firmer slightly to the left of centre but I’m so bloated by the afternoon that it difficult to tell (and I look and feel about 25 weeks pregnant!).

I have had a lot of body pain which has surprised me this early on - twinges in my back and on Sunday and Monday I was in quite a lot of pelvic pain. Felt like I’d been horse riding/on a really long mountain bike ride (neither of which I do 😂). Obviously, I googled and sounds like it might be SPD but I think that’s unlikely as it’s eased off and my understanding is that it gets worse, not better. Will keep an eye on it and get some physio if it becomes really uncomfortable.

This is all really new to me so please let me know if there’s anyone who’s got experience of this/SPD or is feeling the same!

Yayy scan buddies I'll be 14 weeks exactly was hoping for a little earlier but I think maybe because I was given an early scan at hospital and they are sure of my dates they can allow me to go to then.

My boobs are so sore I can barely don't touch them :( food aversions are slowly going away! Except for onions / cheese and onion crisps or anything at all with hidden onions smells disgusting lol

squatternutbosh12 · 02/02/2022 09:39

My worst aversion has been TEA

which is AWFUL because I live for the stuff usually but for some reason cannot stomach it, even though I now have a big cup of tea shaped void in my life

KitsuneDream · 02/02/2022 09:45

@CoalCraft I've tried feeling mine but it's really hard to tell. my lower abdomen feels really firm.

@netflixandnochill My bump is quite big to be honest for 11 weeks. I feel the same as you... it's like I'm 6-7 months pregnant. I'm so bloated!!!

CoalCraft · 02/02/2022 09:51

@surprised12 I'm still waiting for scan, it's on the 27th so another 15 days to go. Sorry you don't even have a date though, that's naff. I would ring your midwife and ask for advice. You don't want it left too late.

@squatternutbosh12 Funnily enough I've also gone off tea! I wouldn't call it an aversion exactly for me as it doesn't disgust me and if I have to have a cuppa for secrecy reasons I can, but I don't feel the urge to have one and yet at the same time I miss it.

My biggest aversion is DD's food. She loves those little toddler meal trays but the sight and smell of them makes me retch now. Feeling a bit queasy just writing this tbh 🤢

KitsuneDream · 02/02/2022 09:52

I still have some food aversions. Wish they go away really. Can't stand the smell of mint, cauliflower and cucumbers!

My cravings on the other hand are eggs and cheese. Blush

Beth262 · 02/02/2022 09:55

@squatternutbosh12 Oh with you on the tea! Usually several cups a day but up until the last week even the thought of it has turned me a bit green! Currently just about managing half a cup late in the evening but anymore or any other time of day and it's a big fat no.

CoalCraft · 02/02/2022 11:17

(sorry, typo earlier, my scan is on the 17th, not 27th)

@KitsuneDream I'm with you on the cheese, just loving the cheddar at the moment.

Really I just seem to want all the savoury high-fat foods. Sausage, chicken nuggets, cheese, gravy.... Not very healthy lol

Cakecakecheese · 02/02/2022 11:31

I've never liked coffee but the smell of it right now is super vile. Bleurgh.

I keep wanting salty foods but then when I eat them they're too salty!

Unsure1010 · 02/02/2022 11:43

I still can't stomach warm drinks. Everything has to be ice, ice cold, weirdly. How weird how your tastes can change so drastically. I can't stomach red meat at the moment, so living on chicken and cards, which is really not ideal lol

SantiagoSister · 02/02/2022 11:54

I find it fascinating all the different aversions we can have! Mine is chicken, even if I see a meal on the TV with chicken in it I gag and get goosebumps all over.. so weird! I normally love chicken. Strange thing was it was exactly the same with my first pregnancy too!

seathistle · 02/02/2022 12:57

My aversions are so bad at the moment. I'm starving but everything seems revolting! (Apart from crisps)

Finding dinner the absolute hardest? Anyone got a go to dinner option?

They got better and now I'm back to finding most things disgusting 😂 14 weeks tomorrow.

notsofertilemyrtle · 02/02/2022 13:12

@seathistle with you on the crisps! 11+1 and back to my diet of ready salted crisps, smoothies, Vimto and toast. Inspiring 🥴

Praying this is the last of the "return" of nausea. I had a luxurious 6 day break and loved eating veg again and drinking tea!

I'm the same with ice cold things @Unsure1010 which is weird as I'm not usually a fan.

New thing for me is dry heaving. Lasts about 10mins and it's horrible!

Bring on that second trimester glow...

Beth262 · 02/02/2022 13:37

@seathistle I seem to be eating jacket potato, cheese and beans - for lunch and dinner most days! I'm going to look like one soon! 😂

beckybloomwood11 · 02/02/2022 14:15

I'm having a regression on the symptom front. From about 10.5 weeks to 11 weeks I was feeling so much better - more energy, less nausea, just feeling better in general. Now I'm 11+6 and I feel awful again! So exhausted, struggling to keep stuff down. It's more depressing now because I thought I was feeling better! Bring on the second trimester!
