Hello,

Just found out we are pregnant after 13 months of trying - based on last period will be due august 19th.

Any others with similar time like to join to support one another?

Bit late to the party but hi all!
Got my 12 week scan on 4th Feb when I will be 12+1 by LMP, although had a scan last week which put me 6 days ahead of where I thought I was so will be interested to see if baby is still measuring ahead and if my due date will change!
Totally with all of you who have commented on sore boobs- omg 😱 😂
Also struggling with nausea and fatigue so am hoping these start settling after 12 weeks…
Hope it’s going well for you all x
@surprised12 I got my scan letter on Saturday for the 9th Feb. According to me private scan that'll make me 12 weeks exactly.

I was a little surprised that the appointment letter says the appointment could last 2-3 hours. Does anyone know what they could possibly do that will take so long?
Mine took about 1.5 hours. They got me in earlier than planned and then had to walk to the other end of the hospital and wait for bloods, etc. It depends if they're on time I think.

Unsure1010 · 31/01/2022 18:23

Seems to have been a flurry of activity with my midwife department. Had my booking in appointment last Tuesday and received 3 appointment cards today!! 1 for scan on 16th Feb when I’ll be 12+4, another for a chat with consultant in March and my GD test appointment in May. Definitely feels more real now!! Roll on 16th Feb though, to check everything’s tracking as it should

@CoalCraft I got so dehydrated the last time that my body kicked out the mucus plug and went into early labour at 31 weeks. I had no idea that dehydration could do that. I'd been for a long hike with friends and didn't want to have to pee, so hadn't been drinking water. The doctors managed to keep my DD in for 3 more weeks (thank god), but by week 34 she was out and I wouldn't wish the NICU experience on anyone. I have an ED past and I was in general under eating and over exercing as it wasn't a planned pregnancy, and I had come off my pill to lose a few extra lbs, which very much backfired lol. While I have the help of a great therapist now, and I am mentally in a much stronger place, I am irrationally terrified that my body will have some strange muscle memory where it just decides that it is just "done" with pregnancy. Every time I exercise I get more CM and that reminds me of what happened with early labour, and I panic that I am re-starting the whole cycle. I'm basically scared to exercise or DTD at this stage which is ridiculous. Looking forward to the doctors later this week for some reassurance (hopefully).

Beth262 · 31/01/2022 20:46

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Had my dating scan today, am 13 weeks exactly and have a due date of 8 August. Took around an 1.5 hours in total but that's because I had to wait almost an hour to see the midwife after the scan. I swear she was possibly just sat there drinking tea - I was the only person there it being one of the last ones of the day! Grin

Unsure1010 · 01/02/2022 12:31

So after being quite positive yesterday, I’ve just had a text from my midwife to say they’ve picked up an infection in my urine sample from my booking appointment last week and she’s prescribing antibiotics. Hasn’t said what infection or anything. I’ve text back to ask if it’s anything to be concerned about, but have heard nothing back. Has anyone had anything similar happen?

PopGoesBang · 01/02/2022 12:37

@Beth262 ohhh we're really close, I'm the 7th Aug!

@Unsure1010 I had lots of infections in my last pregnancy, everything was fine with baby. I'm sure the midwife will reassure you too.

CoalCraft · 01/02/2022 13:17

Anyone else suddenly have really sore boobs again? Mine calmed down a lot after the first couple of weeks but are suddenly really tender again, especially first thing in the morning 🤷

11 weeks today and feeling so impatient. 16 days till scan (I'm counting down...) and feel like I could tear my hair out Grin

NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc · 01/02/2022 13:52

@CoalCraft I have 16 days til my scan too! I finally had my booking appointment today and got my scan date. It seems like forever to wait, hopefully the time will go fast! My boobs are still tender but they're not super sore like they were a few weeks ago.

Mufflette · 01/02/2022 14:12

@CoalCraft I have a couple of days when I think my boobs are getting back to normal and then one like today where they point out they're not... I only fit into one bra at the moment too, keep finding things this week that don't fit any more!

My scan's next week and I am so on countdown it's actually very distracting. I feel like I've got so many things I want to plan and do that are all on hold til that point and the days are dragging. My symptoms are mostly gone (other than the boobs and issue fitting in bras and jeans!) and I keep telling myself it's a good thing that the placenta is taking over but I just want to be able to know that rather than have to convince myself of it!

Gem2811 · 01/02/2022 14:34

Got my scan tomorrow I'm so scared but looking forward to getting it over and done with tbh. Gutted its an afternoon appointment tomorrow is going to be a long day! 🙈

CoalCraft · 01/02/2022 14:53

@NetflixAndSauvignonBlanc Scan buddies! I was starting to think I was the only one here having a scan so late Grin Let's just hope it doesn't drag tooo much.

@Mufflette I know exactly what you mean about feeling like things are on hold. I'm sworn to secrecy until after the scan but I just so want to tell people. I'm tired or biting my tongue all the time.

KitsuneDream · 01/02/2022 14:56

@Gem2811 All the best for tomorrow's scan!

@Mufflette Woohoo next week it's our turn for the scan! Can't wait! My morning sickness has been easing off and I can cope better now. Also I'm returning to work this week. Smile

jeggles · 01/02/2022 15:25

@CoalCraft me too, both the boobs and nausea seem to have got worse again over last few days 😩

Anyone else got a ridiculously dry mouth?!

Can’t wait until I can actually enjoy food again..

Gem2811 · 01/02/2022 16:06

@CoalCraft I also have the dry mouth especially at night then as soon as I drink something I need to pee about 20 times!nightmare

@Mufflette Same. My scan is Monday at 13 weeks and it feels like everything is on hold til then. I seem to swerve wildly between being convinced it'll be bad news and thinking it'll be fine. My nausea went a couple of weeks ago and while it probably is the placenta taking over there was something comforting about feeling nauseous, apart from the sick feeling obviously!

My friend 'helpfully' said I've got a bump. No that'll be from where I've put on crap loads of weight from IVF meds and dramatically reducing my intense exercise regimen Hmm

Mufflette · 01/02/2022 16:51

@Cakecakecheese that's exactly how I feel! It's quite reassuring to know that I'm not the only one!

@KitsuneDream good news on the morning sickness!

Beth262 · 01/02/2022 17:05

@PopGoesBang Oh yes, very close! Hoping this time round it's not as early as DS at 30+1 or I'll be moved to the due May group Grin

PopGoesBang · 01/02/2022 17:11

@Beth262 yikes, everything crossed this one stays put until much closer to the correct date!
I was induced with dd last time, on her due date. So no idea on the whole contractions side of thing and getting to hospital. And it being a 'normal' labour.
It's funny how things can be so different but lots assume 'ah you've done it all before', technically yes, but the journey to the end result was very different.

madeleine85 · 01/02/2022 17:19

@PopGoesBang when I really went into labour (there were a few early starts that we mitigated) I tried and completely failed at counting contractions etc, so I still have no idea how it works, you aren't alone. By the time that we went to the hospital DD came in less than 2 hours, but the nurse didn't think i was far in at first and ignored me for the 1.5 hours. By the time I sent my husband to go get her the baby was coming out and nothing was ready, it was comedy show bad. We have been told that this time we are to go to the hospital when waters break, and not do what I did the last time, which was sit at home, take a nice long shower and snooze lol. Oops. The you've done it all before thing is such a myth. I honestly barely remember!

Beth262 · 01/02/2022 17:21

@PopGoesBang Yes I certainly hope so, even if the thought of pushing something out larger than 3lb is slightly terrifying Wink

How did you find being induced?

It is funny how the end result is the same with the baby being in your arms but the labour thing is so different for everyone in terms of getting to that

PopGoesBang · 01/02/2022 17:56

@madeleine85 ha! Sleep and showers are important tho! And in fairness your always told first labours take ages. But definitely sounds like this time going sooner rather than later is a good idea.

I can see us all on here in august asking what's happening!

@Beth262 induction was ok. DD's heart rate was all over the place so they were debating a c section, and then they weren't and then they were (it was a bit to and fro for a while!) and then the next morning they went for the drip to induce, it was pretty quick from that point on. My parents were with me (that 'd'p is different from now) and if it hadn't been for my dad being quite stern when the midwife was telling me I wasn't ready to push I think dd would have made a surprise entry into the world and nothing would have been ready for her!
But on the whole it was fine, but more restricted with the drip and monitoring but not the end of the world.

I can imagine the thought of a full term baby and the pushing is daunting, let's hope for a well grown baby that's not too generous on weight (or head size!!)

Isonthecase · 01/02/2022 19:23

Another 2 weeks until my scan and also nervous! My husband keeps making 'helpful' comments like "of course there's a baby in there" but not sure I'll believe it until I see it!

I've also had two kids and both labours totally different apart from birth weight! Second time I think is easier as you know what you need to get through, pushing was a bit of a shock first time Confused

Minnie296 · 01/02/2022 20:42

Oh I'm slightly jealous everyone having 12 week scans in their 12th week I have to wait until I'm 14 weeks exactly! But it's kinda nice it's on Valentine's Day :)

Still feeling kinda sick , don't ever seem to have an appetite and always thirsty! Im 12+1 .

Also I can't remember having a diabetes test it says I'll be given a sugary drink and to go back 2 hours later will I need to stay in the hospital or near by and go back for that? Only wondering as I'll need to take the day off work if that's the case.

❤️❤️

MagicEgg · 01/02/2022 21:08

Hi august baby bunch!
Scan this Friday, yay
Having a terrible time with nausea 😭 and desperate for some relief!

Anyone got good recommendations for maternity jeans?! Early I know but want to be comfy! I don’t really like the ones with the full fabric panel/tube thing that goes over the bump- prefer something that sits lower/ round the middle (realise will prob have to use the full panel ones when bump is big though)

Has anyone had harmony test done? We have and waiting for results currently 😱 but will also find out gender from that which am excited about!

Best wishes to you all
