Hello,

Just found out we are pregnant after 13 months of trying - based on last period will be due august 19th.

Any others with similar time like to join to support one another?

Had my scan today, it's put me at 12weeks and 5 days so due date of 7th August.
All seems pretty good - results of the tests next week as they are shut over the weekend but hopefully low risk for everything.
Baby was quite stubborn and wouldn't lay to help at all! Good to see the stubborn streak is there already.

Isonthecase · 28/01/2022 20:17

They're quite variable, my last two were 13+6 but this one is 12+2 and they're the same trust.

Beth262 · 28/01/2022 20:18

@Coalcraft Glad the bleeding has become less frequent. Tiredness is in a different league second time round when you have a toddler to run around after and can't just nap on a whim! Hopefully once you hit the 12 week mark, the Tiredness will tail off a little. I'm sorry to hear your mum is poorly again and can totally understand that her hearing your lovely news would cheer her up but completely get that you want that reassurance all is ok first too. I really wish the first trimester was easier in terms of peace of mind!

I'm doing ok physically but probably not as well mentally. Absolutely no symptoms at the moment, doesn't even feel like I'm pregnant (apart from struggling to get in my jeans) but I'm hoping it's just because the placenta has taken over now. Doesn't stop me on a downward anxiety spiral though! I've had covid this week which I don't think has helped my state of mind either. Thankfully just felt a little run down more than anything but still climbing the walls. So my scan appointment being late has actually worked in my favour as I wouldn't have been able to go this week anyway!

I'm sincerely hoping the other two trimesters do not feel as painfully slow as this first one!

Beth262 · 28/01/2022 20:24

@surprised12 I'd get in touch with your midwife and ler her know you've still not heard anything. If you think she'll be receptive, explain about your husband being unavailable after the 15th and how it's making you anxious. Hopefully she'll be able to give them a ring and jig them along. I've ended up with less than a weeks notice for mine next week!

@PopGoesBang Glad to hear the scan all went well today Smile

madeleine85 · 28/01/2022 20:25

@Gem2811 welcome! My nose does not stop running right now. Every time I walk my pup i'm searching for tissues.

@CoalCraft glad i'm not the only one at the end of August due date. I have a 10 week scan one week today, where i'll either be 10+3 or 9+6 if AF or ovulation date based. If that is Feb 4, then i'd expect around the same as you for 12 week measurements etc (assuming all well). It feels like it has really taken forever to get to this point!

DontSayKwen · 28/01/2022 22:23

I’m out ladies.
Went back for repeat early reassurance scan and still no growth. Looks like blighted ovum. Have been referred to EPU for scan and next steps. Lots of luck and love to you all. Hope you enjoy the next few months and all that comes beyond x x

Cakecakecheese · 28/01/2022 22:33

@DontSayKwen Oh no I'm so sorry. I hope the next steps go as ok as these things ever can. Lots of love x

Beth262 · 29/01/2022 08:08

roughmeasures · 29/01/2022 17:25

Had my 12 wk scan today, all healthy and measuring at 13weeks which is what I thought I was :)

Sorry to hear that @DontSayKwen

CoalCraft · 29/01/2022 21:24

@DontSayKwen So sorry to hear Flowers

@surprised12 No harm in ringing, explaining and asking if they can fit you in before the operation. They will want you to feel as supported as they can so I'm sure they'll accommodate if possible.

@roughmeasures Great to hear all is well!

@madeleine85 Gosh I know, every week just draaags. Sounds like we are about the same dates wise. Possible due date buddies? Grin

@Beth262
The first trimester is so tough isn't it? No real way to know what's going on on there with only vague symptoms to go off of, and speaking for myself I often wonder how much of the symptoms are in my head! Am so glad to hear that you weren't too badly affected by covid, though I bet it still didn't help with the tiredness and general feeling of blech. I really think things will start to go a little quicker soon, as energy returns, bumps start to grow and kicks start to be felt (can't wait for that bit 🥰 ) xx

10+4 today. 19 days til scan. Yes I'm counting lol

LiMc1 · 29/01/2022 23:52

Finally got to 12 weeks and had my scan 11+3, so relieved to see a jumping baby in there. Alive and kicking, very surreal as a first time mama!
Due 13th August 🥰

@DontSayKwen I’m so very sorry for your loss. Please take care of yourself xx

@CoalCraft my dr says my due date is 30/8, but I calculated it based off ovulation as 4/9. My DD was 6 weeks early though so I’m optimistically hoping for a healthy full(ish) term labour in mid-late aug 🤷‍♀️. When is yours being calculated for?

CoalCraft · 31/01/2022 06:35

@madeleine85 Ah, I don't have an "official" estimated date yet but based on epu scan my date should be around 22 Aug, so a lil earlier.

Funnily enough, my DD was seven weeks early! I am also obviously hoping to go to term this time. May I ask what was the cause, of any, of your DD being prem? I just went into labour spontaneously after a long period of "irritable uterus". I've been told I'll be consultant led this time but annoyingly different midwives have told me different things about when I'll meet that consultant.

Unknown6 · 31/01/2022 08:28

Hi all,

I'm due 4th August.

@surprised12, I didn't get my scan date until I was 12 weeks, I called twice from week 11. Ended up having scan at exactly 13 weeks.

KCat82 · 31/01/2022 09:08

@surprised12 I got my scan letter on Saturday for the 9th Feb. According to me private scan that'll make me 12 weeks exactly.

I was a little surprised that the appointment letter says the appointment could last 2-3 hours. Does anyone know what they could possibly do that will take so long?

BluePear · 31/01/2022 09:32

@KCat82 ours took a little while but not 3 hours! Baby wasn't in a favourable position so we had to leave and come back in 30mins, go for walk etc. and then the scan itself is about 20mins. And then we had to go get my bloods done for screening. We were 1.5hours in total and the clinics wasn't busy.

Unknown6 · 31/01/2022 09:34

@KCat82, mine took about that because they were running an hour late. I don't think they got all my measurements as baby was not cooperative and would not move into correct position. You also have bloods taken.

PopGoesBang · 31/01/2022 09:55

I was about 1.5 hours on Friday - but I was that person who took forever in the scan as baby was being stubborn, so had to go for 2 wee's and jiggles and then I wouldn't give my blood up so had to be taken to the main blood room - I'd imagine they were running behind by time the finished with me.

I guess they find it better to put the maximum so less people complain if they are waiting.
Hope you aren't there that long!

Littlebutload · 31/01/2022 10:28

Hi all, just had a scan this morning everthing is great, saw the little head and the hands moving. They have changed my due date to the 25th of August, so 3 days more than it was originally. Hopefully baby comes on time as I have a little one starting school in September!
