Hello,

Just found out we are pregnant after 13 months of trying - based on last period will be due august 19th.

Any others with similar time like to join to support one another?

Hi, according to my last private scan Im 8 + 4 (early reassurance scan at 6 + 2) although according to my midwife I might be further along - predicted due date 27th Aug!? I have another private scan booked for this Sunday so hoping everything will be ok!! So reassured to hear you all have the same worries and symptoms as me!

seathistle · 26/01/2022 09:06

@everysunrise me! I'm due on the 6th august.

Can I join in too? Was so unsure whether to post here. It's been a really anxious ride for me so far. We were ttc for 2 years and about to start ivf in feb. So very unexpected but so grateful.

Hope everyone is getting on ok.

CoalCraft · 26/01/2022 09:51

Hi all, been a busy few days.

Just trucking along really over here. Nausea calmed down a lot and now I just get the odd twinge when I'm really hungry. Still can't bear certain smells though gag Had another little bleed on Monday after nearly a week of nothing, which was disappointing, but it's stopped now.

Really hoping I hear when my scan will be soon. Getting a bit worried really that it'll end up being well after 12 weeks. 10+1 today though so still plenty of time I suppose. It's nice to be in double digits :)

seathistle · 26/01/2022 10:32

@CoalCraft if it helps, I didn't have my booking in appointment until 10.5 weeks (they just randomly rang) and then 2 days later got my letter in the post with my scan appointment. Which was the following Monday. I was 12+4 (but I thought I was 12+2). I felt the same as you, but it all got sorted quite quickly.

CShandy01 · 26/01/2022 11:02

Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind if I join 🙂🙂 I'm 12 weeks tomorrow (having our first scan on Monday). Due around 12th august. This is our second child (DD is 2 years 6 months old) and she was also a summer baby. I quite liked giving birth in the summer last time as it meant when I went out walking with the pram, it was gorgeous weather and I could sit out in the parks. Bit anxious with this one as I am a firm believer of "ignorance is bliss" and I was exactly this was my first 😂 now of course I know everything that happens, I'm much more aware! Guess that's a blessing and a curse! Xxx

CShandy01 · 26/01/2022 11:07

@CoalCraft if it's any consolation I had my appointment with my midwife at 10+2 and I'll be having my scan at 12+3. I wasn't even able to register my pregnancy with my doctors unit I was 8 weeks, and it took 3 phone calls of chasing them for someone to finally get back to me (I was 10 weeks at this point!). Xxx

BluePear · 26/01/2022 13:25

Had 12 week scan today all looks good so far! So I'm actually 13weeks today so EDD 3rd August Smile

Anotherboy · 26/01/2022 15:37

Hope it's OK to join. I just had my 12 week scan, put me at 11 and 4, so due 13th August. I've been following this thread for the last few weeks, and it's given me great comfort. I was too anxious to post until I'd seen there was an actual baby in there! Good luck to all those with scans this week.

surprised12 · 26/01/2022 18:31

Any advice ladies?
I'm almost 10 weeks and starting to get so thirsty!
I woke up at 3am dying of thirst, drank my brink, walked round to my husbands bedside table and drank his.
Still thirsty.
Managed to get back to sleep and dreamed about buying a giant cup of Diet Coke from the cinema and really enjoying drinking it.
Woke up again and ended up going downstairs for a glass of lemonade encase it was the fizziness I wanted.....
On top of this I've had 1 glass of orange squash, 3 pints of water and a glass of caffeine free Coke today.

Is anyone else like this?? I don't know if it's the actual liquid I want or if it's the taste or the fizz..... #confused

mamaof2girls · 26/01/2022 18:50

Had my booking in appointment yesterday al went well now just got to wait on my 12 week scan on the 10th! Great to see everyone starting to get their 12 week scan and everything going well! Has anyone had their booster jab while pregnant yet? Spoke with my midwife and she is advising it but said I can take it at any time but most people are waiting till 12 weeks but I don't need to! X

Mufflette · 26/01/2022 18:57

Welcome to everyone just joining the thread!

@surprised12 yes, so thirsty! I'm on my 5th pint of water today, plus a coffee and will have at least one more pint of water this eve but it never feels like enough! And even that's not as bad as a few weeks ago when I was up to 8 pints of water a day...

@mamaof2girls I had mine at about week 4/5. All seems fine and I had no side effects though I know that's pretty individual.

SantiagoSister · 26/01/2022 18:59

Hi all, just wanted to let you know my 12 week scan went well today, all was looking as it should and we’re so grateful ❤️ Hoping the little bubba carries on growing well 🙏🏼

Beth262 · 26/01/2022 20:41

Glad the scans went well today @SantiagoSister and @BluePear

Welcome to those just joining us.

Hope everyone is OK x

CoalCraft · 26/01/2022 21:14

There is a "Due October" thread up! Makes me happy to see the new months come up, feels like we're making progress in an odd way!

madeleine85 · 26/01/2022 21:35

@CoalCraft I had the same feeling the other day when I saw it!! Makes me feel like time is actually passing since I'm due either end of Aug or early Sep (AF date vs ovulation date). Very slowly passing lol.

madeleine85 · 26/01/2022 21:37

@surprised12 did you eat anything salty the night before? It might be that causing thirst. Otherwise i'd say listen to your body and give it plenty of hydration. The minute I even warm up exercise now I am parched, it is crazy that my body is like "you want to expel water, then you better start drinking right now" :)

SquigsC · 27/01/2022 10:42

Hello all! I am 13 weeks + 2 days.

My boobs are SO sore - as are my nips. This was one of my first symptoms, which I assumed (maybe hoped?) would disappear by the end of first trimester. Yet, they are just as painful as ever - has anybody on this thread had boob pain that lasted the entire pregnancy? That is my fear now!

Generally, I am not a bra wearer, and although I have started wearing sports bras, I find them uncomfortable in other ways.

Any help is appreciated.

everysunrise · 27/01/2022 10:54

@seathistle Congratulations! Where are you from? 😊

CoalCraft · 27/01/2022 12:13

@SquigsC Hi! With DC1 my nips hurt all the way through pregnancy and beyond, but only when I just had a pyjama top and no bra on as the top would run against them and it honestly felt like daggers. It's the same now with #2

I wear bras day to day and they prevent rubbing so I'm not really bothered by it then. If you don't like wearing bras I'm not sure what to suggest, sorry!

KitsuneDream · 27/01/2022 14:09

@SquigsC I did experience very sore breasts and painful nips. I used to not wear a bra at night but it felt very uncomfortable without anything to support them. I bought a Medela maternity sleep bra and it helped a lot!

CoalCraft · 28/01/2022 15:10

Well, finally have a date for my "12 week" scan - 17th Feb. So faaaar. And on a day where DH won't be able to come with as we have no other childcare.

But at least I have a date. I'll be 13+2 by then and I know some people have been waiting a lot longer.

Beth262 · 28/01/2022 15:44

@CoalCraft Mine finally came through this week, I'll be 13+1 when I get there! Seems health boards fall into two categories- either completely on the ball or not.

How have you been? x

CoalCraft · 28/01/2022 18:38

Ah, sorry about that little whinge earlier, it probably didn't come across too well 😅 I was feeling a bit grumpy.

@Beth262 Ah, I've been pretty good really! Nausea subsided a lot and bleeding seemingly becoming less frequent. I'm just so damn tired! I think I could sleep for 15 hours if given the opportunity Grin And still gassy and bloated too but ah well.

Have been feeling a bit run down emotionally, mostly just because of the tiredness I think, and DD's passed her nursery cold to me as normal, and also because my poor mum's still poorly Sad Nothing life threatening thankfully but I'd so like to tell her about the pregnancy to cheer her up. Really want to make sure everything's okay in there first though.

How are you getting on? You must be getting impatient for your scan!

Gem2811 · 28/01/2022 18:44

Hey hope I can join in! I am 12 weeks on Sunday and have my first scan next Wednesday. Bit apprehensive after a MMC last August. Anyone else struggled with a constant running nose?

surprised12 · 28/01/2022 19:59

Has anyone just not received their 12 week scan date? I had my booking in app on 11th Jan and thought I'd hear pretty quickly for the scan date after that.
I'm just worried it will come last minute and my husband is going for an operation on the 15th Feb. I'm so anxious I'll end up having to go alone as he'll be in recovery for a few weeks after!!

I'm 10 weeks today, so the odds are that my scan will be after the 15th :(
