I also had less of a reaction to the Jan this time round. 3rd Pfizer jab, and hardly any reaction vs feeling a bit wiped out the last two times.

CurryandSnuggle · 16/12/2021 13:16

@Upsydasiy welcome to the group, I’m sorry you lost your little girl to T18, I hope your screening results give you some comfort. Sone people on here paid for a private screening that is much more accurate, it is expensive but if you want to be mega sure you could go down that route. Anyone who has had it please post as I can’t remember the name of it!!

CurryandSnuggle · 16/12/2021 13:17

@rathernotshare arghh!! Bloody covid, it has a lot to answer for 😩

Upsydasiy · 16/12/2021 13:34

@CurryandSnuggle we have decided not to pay for the private screening as despite it been much more accurate it’s still a screening test and I would want confirmation via a diagnostic test if it came back high risk so it felt like a lot of money to spend on something that wouldn’t necessarily reassure me as such. I’m having extra scans in fetal medicine with a consultant that I work with so hoping that will help reassure me as well 🤞
Although it was an initial shock at our scan to find out there was problems in our last pregnancy the diagnosis itself wasn’t a huge surprise as the scan was severely abnormal and had lots of soft markers for chromosomal problems.
I’ve been scanned regularly since 6 weeks including a 3D scan at 10+5 and then my dating scan in fetal medicine and so far things look to be hopefully progressing well and there is no obvious markers for chromosome problems. Just holding out hope for my results as I’d rather not have another cvs.
Results should be back soon and I’m taking the fact I haven’t had a phone call as good news as they phone out high risk results within 72 hours 🤞(perk of the job though I will be able to find out my results before the post arrives so won’t have to wait for them)

@Prema112 I did in my first pregnancy when I used to wear a Fitbit. I have a pretty low resting heart rate normally, but it was definitely elevated. It sometimes shot up way into the hundreds when I was walling if there was any sort of incline.
I have a heart condition so I mentioned it at my combined cardiology/ obstetrics consultant appointment. The consultant cardiologist then advised me against heart rate trackers, because he doesn’t think they’re helpful. He said it’s much more important how I feel.
Do keep a look out and mention it to your midwife/GP if it continues- but I mention the above to reassure you that it’s not necessarily a cause for alarm.

Do you feel out of breath / is your heart racing often?

EarlGreywithLemon · 16/12/2021 13:52

Walking! Not walling, whatever that is!

LM42 · 16/12/2021 15:26

Hi All,

I'm due on the 19th June and currently 13 weeks +4.

We had our scan at 11+5 everything seemed fine with baby but can't help worrying about the least thing.

Does anyone have the same due date?

CurryandSnuggle · 16/12/2021 16:51

Congratulations @LM42 🥰 lovely scan!

Turniptracker · 16/12/2021 17:14

@Prema112 my resting has gone up to 71, it was 59/60 before pregnancy. I think heart is having to work a lot harder at the moment pushing all our extra blood about

Pandamama88 · 16/12/2021 18:10

@Prema112 I just investigated my average resting heart rate on my fitbit from the last few months. Hasn't really changed. I'm not sure why I'm really quite obese aswell so you'd think pregnancy would start affecting things. It does go quite high when I go for a walk or exercise but still in the realms of normality for me pre pregnancy. 110 BPM is normal for me going for a doggy walk with no incline. Just bear in mind what is normal or abnormal for you and if you are feeling at all funny, like light headed dizzy or like your heart feels stressed then try midwife, 111 or 999 based on how serious things are or how concerned you are feeling. It's normal to worry about these things and sensible to raise them and keep an eye out. But try not to worry too much as that doesn't always help. But from the sounds of things it's normal for heart rate to change as pregnancy progresses and different people will be affected differently at different stages.

Vimto1991 · 16/12/2021 18:27

My heart rate was anywhere in the 50s which I blame on hypothyroidism, it’s now 60/70s and find it increases a lot when exercising. Doctor said it’s normal as we are pumping more blood around and the heart is working harder! So completely normal to have a higher BPM right now!

I get palpitations often when exerting myself which I have a cardiologist appointment for next month (waited since May!!) and found as soon as I was pregnant as my heart was pumping more they happened more frequently (doctor thinks it’s actually anxiety).

CurryandSnuggle · 16/12/2021 21:57

Had my 16 week appointment today, nothing exciting to report but it feels like a milestone!

Also I have noticed I’ve been leaking colostrum ! Didn’t expect this so early on! 🙈

needarainbow · 16/12/2021 22:29

@LM42 Me! I'm due 19th June with my first. That was from my dating scan although it's a bit earlier than my calculations as initial date was 25th June! Finding it hard to wait until 20 weeks for next scan. It feels like a million miles away! Congrats on you're lovely scan

Is anyone else suffering from insomnia? Every night lately I can't sleep. I drove to Starbucks at 2am yesterday morning!

rathernotshare · 17/12/2021 02:48

@DaimDillyDoo not insomnia but I wake up and can't get back to sleep for ages at the same time every night!

Firsttimer144 · 17/12/2021 04:06

I think joining in at the point of discussing insomnia/night waking is a great time as I write this at 4am.

Hi all, I've been following for a little while and I'm very happy to join you all at nearly 16 weeks pregnant with my 3rd.

I hope you are all well. Flowers

@Vimto1991 I had palpitations in my second pregnancy. I went to the GP and he suggested it was anxiety also. In my case, it turned out he was right! So strange that it presented it self physically before I was aware of it emotionally.

sunflower198 · 17/12/2021 06:30

Yes! I'm usually awake from 4am onwards. I thought it was because I'm going to bed too early but went to bed later last night and I've been downstairs since 5:30am. I'm going to be shattered by this evening 😴
JAR1981 · 17/12/2021 07:45

Morning ladies. Just wanted to report for those on the fence about the booster that I got mine yesterday and no side effects. It was Moderna this time which panicked me slightly when I got there as Pfizer before but all fine, not even much of a sore arm to report.

Imhereforthecake · 17/12/2021 07:55

Just been catching up on everything. Love seeing everyone's growing babies!
I've had my 12 week scan - measuring 13+3. All looked ok just waiting on my screening results.
Agree with all those saying about insomnia - it's killing me too!

For those of you who have insomnia I highly recommend the Calm App.

I listen to a story every night going to bed - and fall asleep before I hear the middle of it, never mind the end.

Also waking at around 3/4am to go the toilet and when I can't get to sleep straight away I stick on another calm app sleep story and fall asleep within minutes.

Hope it works for you as well as it does for me

X

unknownscot · 17/12/2021 08:09

I’ve been using a meditation and sleep app called Calm and I think you’d like it, too. Check it out: www.calm.com/gp/l4awre

unknownscot · 17/12/2021 08:10

That's a 30 day pass I've sent if anyone wants to try it.

There's only 5 sign ups allowed so first come, first get it I'm afraid

X

Vimto1991 · 17/12/2021 08:22

@Imhereforthecake congrats!! What a lovely scan!! 😊

I’ve not been having trouble going to sleep but STAYING asleep. I seem to wake every two hours at the moment. 😫 also seem to be out of the constipation zone and straight into the opposite.

I thought this was the glowing happy stage of pregnancy?? 🤣

Prema112 · 17/12/2021 09:24

@unknownscot Thank you so much for the code, I'm awake for hours after going to the loo in the night I'm excited to try calm tonight! (Although I shouldn't be excited- only CALM!)

@Imhereforthecake beautiful scan!!

Prema112 · 17/12/2021 09:29

@Vimto1991 @Pandamama88 @Turniptracker @EarlGreywithLemon Thank you so much for your replies about heart rate, so so helpful to hear your thoughts. I think you're right, it's a really good idea to look at the whole picture. It's hard to tell how I feel as I seem to always feel prubbish (my new word- means 'pregnancy rubbish' which just describes normal me in this pregnancy, always feeling a bit rubbish!) But, I will look out for feeling faint/dizzy/more sick. My blood pressure is fine so that's a good sign. I would say normal resting heart rate was 70 pre pregnancy so I think up to around 90 is probably ok
