Hey @scoutcat and @Karinat17
I'm so sorry for what you're experiencing. Whatever the outcome, the next few hours / day is going to feel incredibly anxious.
In the interests of trying to keep you calm, I am required to say "it could be nothing, please don't worry". And it really could be nothing.
If I'm being totally practical and rational, I did have these symptoms at the start of both of my previous mcs. For me, the difference between "implantation" and "stretching uterus" and miscarriage pains were obvious and noticeable. In that the latter felt like my period was coming. I tried to deny it and hope it might be "normal" in some way, but I think deep down, I knew.
Fairly near the beginning I also had tiny little stringy clots, which were a clue for me and were obviously different to a smear of blood in my discharge, which is normal.
Bleeding for any reason is stressful so don't be hard on yourself or expect too much of yourself. Call your community midwives or GP. CMs are better tbh, they are "softer". GP is more likely to use a phrase like "ball of cells" 🙄
Follow their advice - it is likely to be "sit tight" - many places don't offer EPU referrals for bleeding before 6 weeks (which is such bollocks IMO). You can try to insist on one. If you are in real pain that you can't self manage, go to a primary care provider and demand to be seen. Talk to your partner.
Here are some positive thoughts for you:
- I have read lots of accounts of women on here that have had heavy bleeding and not lost their baby.
- It's thought that over half of women have some form of bleeding in early pregnancy and go on to have a normal healthy pregnancy.
- No matter what happens today, you are going to be okay. No matter how anxious you feel or how bad it gets, you will come back from this. Trust me, I know!
I'm thinking of you both.
