Hello all!

Just wondering if anyone is a similar stage to me and how you're feeling. A tiny part of me feels a bit emotional that this will be my last pregnancy and it's nearly over, but a very, very large part of me is thoroughly fed up!

Anyone else? :)

@Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles

Congratulations *@Xyzzzzz*!! How long between contractions starting and her being born? What did she weigh? Hope all is well, 10 minutes isnt too bad going Grin
Thank you! Everyone!

Contractions started Sunday morning after midnight 20 mins. Then from 10am to pretty much giving birth at 7pm I was stuck at 5cm.

8dpwoah · 19/10/2021 20:39

He's normally ok to be fair to him but today...argh. Hoping it's some sort of hormone thing but I don't think oxytocin makes you consider what it would be like giving birth in custody so perhaps it's not that 😂

Good tip about the parking btw, when I'm stuck in hospital I'm going to count up all my visits and work out how much they'd have cost me if it weren't for the free parking that's still in place in our trust, I might even write to someone about it. I think I've had 10 scans all in so there's a few days' worth of SMP gone already!

Melody27 · 20/10/2021 08:22

Morning everyone, so exciting babies are arriving!! I’m definitely more irritable than usual haha. Was up in the night with really intense period cramps which have now disappeared. Just keep getting lots of braxton hicks! Ugh this waiting has been hard. How is everyone keeping busy?xx

8dpwoah · 20/10/2021 10:23

Truly trapped now by proeprly isolating waiting for (pre-admission) covid result and the grotty weather, I've put a bag of stuff together for my mum to do with DD while we're in but I think I might be dipping into myself today 😂

Absolutely no change here, this baby is now officially later than her sister was so I've never been this pregnant before (40+5). Hope everyone is plodding along nicely either with babies or still waiting 🙂

mrssunshinexxx · 20/10/2021 11:34

Oh no @8dpwoah I thought seconds were meant to come sooner 🙄🙄 that's what I've been convincing myself . X

Bananapancakes6 · 20/10/2021 11:55

Ah hang in there @8dpwoah at least the end is in sight! Easier said than done I know, last time when I was 41+5 and everyone kept saying "can't be long now surely!" it really got on my nerves Envy

@mrssunshinexxx I did some googling and research and it seems like ifi you are late with first you are likely to be late again with second, but less so (2/3 days) gutted!

mrssunshinexxx · 20/10/2021 12:45

Ah really ?@Bananapancakes6 my 'research' I say it loosely, a quick google said that second babies tend to come at 39 weeks on average. I don't want to be overdue I'm sooo ready

8dpwoah · 20/10/2021 13:10

I'm almost looking forward to my induction now 😂 at least it's a date in the diary! Unless I get bumped of course, I think I'd actually cry.

To be fair I think if she'd still been okay in there DD would have been a lot later than she was, she still took a lot of persuading to come out as it was with all the induction stuff. Definitely not having any more so won't be able to do any more comparisons 😂

Bananapancakes6 · 20/10/2021 13:32

@mrssunshinexxx I think it all depends on the mother and her cycles, some people just have 42 week pregnancies, some have 36. Obviously a lot can influence it. I usually have long cycles 33/34 days so would make sense my pregnancy was long.

Saying that, I'd love a 39 week pregnancy tho, yes please!

marykitty · 20/10/2021 13:33

Hello dear friends Smile
This morning i woke up and the belly has dropped visibly Shock I know it does not mean a single thing, but with DS1 the belly did not drop and I needed a 42weeks induction, so I hope this means there is progress Grin

How are you doing?

marykitty · 20/10/2021 13:35

Hang in there Flowers when is the induction?
8dpwoah · 20/10/2021 14:05

I've got to ring on Friday morning and see when they can fit me in but because I've not got any red flags (despite all the red flags that came and went in the last 12 weeks...) I reckon I won't be going in straight away, they are massively understaffed. It was bit a like that last time as the pre-eclampsia, GD, other unusual stuff were going before me because although DD had stopped growing the monitors were saying all good. I didn't mind that because I was at least in hospital being kept an eye on so as long as I can get myself a bed on Friday I'll take that I think...

marykitty · 20/10/2021 14:22

@8dpwoah finger crossed for you Flowers keep us posted :)

Bananapancakes6 · 21/10/2021 08:23

@marykitty that's a good sign! Baby is at least getting into the right position.

The opposite has happened with me, this morning baby is up really high in my ribs making me very breathless. I've also felt hiccups up high. Worrying that he might have gone breech - anyone know if this is possible at this late a stage!?

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 21/10/2021 15:01

Ooh i dont know @Bananapancakes6 has baby moved back again yet? Mine was back to back at last appointment and the midwife said they change position right up until birth so not to worry, especially if its not your first. But not sure if that applies to breech!

Yet another day of regular contractions but not getting any stronger or closer together Sad so fed up its unreal!

8dpwoah · 21/10/2021 15:19

I knew it myself but was really gutted when my Hermes delivery lady said to me today that she thinks I'm carrying high again... Someone has definitely bobbed back up again after being so nicely engaged 😭

Could it be that for you too @Bananapancakes6 ? It's hard when the kicks aren't really kicks any more as well isn't it because the sticky out buts could easily be elbows. Fingers crossed we both get a bit of help from gravity to get those lovely little skulls a bit lower down again.

Bananapancakes6 · 22/10/2021 10:51

I think baby has gone back head down today, as hip pain is awful and lightning crotch is prevalent!

Any babies yet!? Grin

marykitty · 22/10/2021 14:48

Today is my last day at work (having a coffee break rn) BrewStar

I went to the toilette few minutes ago and found out I started loosing the mucus plug Shock due date is in 10 days

Bananapancakes6 · 22/10/2021 15:06

Hurray @marykitty ! I'm constantly on mucus plug watch ☺️

nanabow · 22/10/2021 15:45

Finished work now 🎉

Playing the waiting game.

8dpwoah · 22/10/2021 18:18

Oh great news @marykitty!

I'm currently sat in hospital with a pessary in, getting some tightening so fingers crossed when they check me tomorrow they might like what they see. Interestingly she said there wasn't much difference in my cervix to what the midwife observed last week so there's no way baby was going to come any time soon despite the bouncing and Clary sage 😂

Hopefully a bit of light chemical assistance overnight will do the trick and get things moving!

Bananapancakes6 · 22/10/2021 18:53

@8dpwoah Was wondering how your induction was going, what time did you go in? I hope the pessary gets cracking for you soon, in the meantime relax and enjoy some quiet time. Can't wait to hear about your new baby!

8dpwoah · 22/10/2021 19:15

Not til after lunch, I think I might have been politely told to wait if it weren't for the fact that baby movements were a bit relaxed this morning, it's very busy. But have been started off quicker than last time and also this pessary is definitely doing more than the first one did last time so fingers crossed! If I can get back out with a healthy me and baby before next Thursday I'll have beaten my record from last time so that's the aim!

Oodlesofdoodlescockapoodles · 22/10/2021 22:10

Good luck @8dpwoah Flowers looking forward to an update when you can!
