Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

@Tandabear when is your scan? Just try and hold out and try not to worry, it won’t change the outcome will just ruin your life for the next few days/weeks. I was exactly the same though the first trimester is so nerve wracking. Xx

I think 7 weeks is a good time to go. Any earlier and there's a chance you won't be able to see anything, which will send you into a tailspin!

CocoLoco88 · 04/02/2022 16:40

Hi everyone, may I join you all? I got my BFP two days ago after two years of trying and a MMC at 13 weeks just over a year ago.

It has only just hit me today that I am pregnant again! I'm sure many of you can appreciate the wild cocktail of emotions going on right now 😂

As I have only had the one MC I'm presuming that I won't be eligible for any kind of early scan? I had one with my last pregnancy because I was very uncertain about dates (PCOS and wildly long cycles) but this time I was doing ovulation induction so I don't have that uncertainty.

Would be interested to hear people's thoughts on scans pre-12 weeks - currently my instinct is not to, but I realise that my resolve on this may weaken rapidly as time goes on!

Also, have I got this right - if I ovulated around 20th Jan, that it would be calculated as 4 weeks? So many questions...

Thank you all and hope everyone is doing OK x

@Tandabear I agree with @OnceUponAThread 7 weeks is perfect. Well done for holding out! Xx

Yep. I am constantly worried I've lost it. And was even more so in the early days. And also worried about losing it.

I've had no symptoms at all, which didn't help. There were days where I longed for some nausea to reassure me I was actually pregnant at all.

I still have these worries regularly. Regular scanning has helped. Can't wait till I can feel baby is moving. (This is my latest concern even though I know it's too early).

Welcome @CocoLoco88 I had 2 miscarriages (so under the 3 that the NHS requires before any investigation) but I told my midwife I was really worried and was booked in for a scan at 6 weeks. I think it probably varies a lot depending on where you are, but there's nothing lost by asking! Do tell them exactly how anxious you've been - all of the pregnancy-related healthcare people we've seen have been fully understanding of how scary it can be.

And congratulations!

susiebluebell · 04/02/2022 17:16

Also we are getting dangerously close to the 1000-post limit... Maybe time to start a new thread soon?!

@susiebluebell I could never work out how to do it, do you know how? Xx

susiebluebell · 06/02/2022 10:57

@Loulou237 I don't know, but I don't mind having a go when it gets close to 1000!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 07/02/2022 15:12

I know no one can reassure me as everyone is different but I'm 7w 3days and my nausea has gone the past two days and I am so worried it's all over now :( I've got a scan on Thursday but it seems so far away and I'm just expecting the worst now.

Loulou237 · 07/02/2022 15:59

Hi @Hopingforarainbow27 that used to happen to me too, it’s your body getting used to the hormones so it would calm down for me for a few days and I’d be terrified and then it would come back worse. I’m afraid I don’t have any pearls of wisdom about being scared of the worst at scans. Think I will have that forever now. It’s horrid isn’t it. Try not to worry though and remember it’s more likely everything is good xxx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 07/02/2022 16:09

@Loulou237 thank you 💕 I'm hoping this is the case, you just can't help but think the worst when that's all you know. Will let you know how I get on on Thursday 🙏🏼

Loulou237 · 07/02/2022 16:11

@Hopingforarainbow27 everything crossed for you! Xxx

susiebluebell · 07/02/2022 17:48

@Hopingforarainbow27 I had horrendous nausea that came and went at will. I'm now 17 weeks! It's more than likely that everything is going smoothly in there (the statistics are on our side!) but even if it's not, I promise you will get through it.

Got everything crossed for you and bring on Thursday! X

Hopingforarainbow27 · 07/02/2022 17:53

@susiebluebell would yours disappear for a full day(s)? Thank you

GinnyBee · 08/02/2022 09:31

The placenta starts doing some work around 7-8 weeks and that's why MANY women notice a reduction in symptoms. I did too, and I'm now 26 weeks.

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 08/02/2022 09:42

Hi ladies, I'm currently 5+2. I just thought I'd jump on as I'm wondering if anyone here knows anything about protein S deficiency ? I've been told I've got this and been started on heparin but I'm clueless about it !
I had a mmc in November after ivf and wondering if this may have contributed to it ?
Trying to not worry too much but also doesn't help when you're not very informed.
If anyone could help I'd be grateful
Thanks

susiebluebell · 08/02/2022 12:11

Hi @thunderonlyhappenswhenits Welcome! I don't have any knowledge on that, but maybe some of the other ladies do!

@Hopingforarainbow27 yep, for a day or more! And then it would be back with a vengeance and I'd be heaving and retching while cooking dinner ConfusedGrin

chasingtherainbow1 · 08/02/2022 16:38

Hi everyone, sorry for just leaving the chat after my bad news and thanks for the well wishes. Just thought I'd let you know that we may have finally found a reason for my miscarriages. I decided to see a private consultant because the NHS have been useless since this recent miscarriage (nurses not even knowing that I'd miscarriages when they were asking me to go in for blood checks every other day 🙄)

Anyway, the private consultant scanned me and told me immediately that it looks like I have slight pcos which has never been picked up on the million NHS scans I've had. He suspects my testosterone levels are higher which means I'm not producing enough progesterone. The EPU wouldn't give me progesterone for my third pregnancy which is annoying.

Currently waiting for blood tests to confirm and following a diabetic diet and I feel great already. I also read It Starts with an Egg and I'm taking much more accurate vitamins for pcos. Hoping this will sort out my issues!

Good luck to you all for the future!

Hopingforarainbow27 · 08/02/2022 16:42

@chasingtherainbow1 I am so glad to hear from you and I am sure you feel some sort of relief that you may have the reason for the miscarriages. I hope you will be back on here soon 💕
