Hello,

I just found out I’m pregnant again (very early days, 4w today). I had a mmc back in April which was diagnosed at almost 12 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks and then I fell pregnant again but had a natural mc at 5+5.
This time I am taking progesterone pessaries and aspirin. Anyone else pregnant after a loss? I’m so scared about mmc but trying to relax as much as possible.

@OnceUponAThread thank you yes such a relief after all my aches and pains this week! Not long til your gender scan am I right? Exciting! Xxx

OnceUponAThread · 27/01/2022 16:43

@Loulou237 Monday. I'm both very nervous and very excited in equal measure.

I guess it won't tell me anything about anomalies and I'll have to wait till 20 weeks for that?

But I can't wait to find out the sex (assuming baby co-operates). Apparently if it's slightly too early or baby is difficult - then they reschedule.

If my scans so far are anything to go by - I'll be back in a week later. Would be frustrating but also a bonus scan.

itssquidstella · 27/01/2022 16:48

Congratulations @Loulou237, that's such good news!

@OnceUponAThread if it's a private gender scan then they can't officially diagnose anything, but the place I went to had a very skilled and thorough sonographer who did look at the baby's anatomy and talk me through everything he could see - luckily it all looked normal, which was confirmed at the 20 week NHS scan.

itssquidstella · 27/01/2022 16:49

(He looked at the heart, blood flow through cord, liver, stomach and bladder I think)

OnceUponAThread · 27/01/2022 16:58

@itssquidstella - oh that's interesting. Thanks.

And I'm sure if there was anything obviously troubling they'd flag it?

So I guess if all goes well then that will be some reassurance on the way!

Loulou237 · 27/01/2022 17:17

Thanks @itssquidstella 😊

Oh I know the feeling well @OnceUponAThread I hope it gets less for every scan you have though!

Yes I had mine at window to the womb and they said they won’t look in great detail but if there’s anything obvious they will tell you.

So exciting to find out the gender! I get way too excited to wait until the baby’s born 😂

OnceUponAThread · 27/01/2022 17:19

@Loulou237 oh does that mean you know yours too?

Exciting!!!

Loulou237 · 27/01/2022 17:20

@OnceUponAThread yes it’s a boy 😊 would have been happy with either but I’ve got a little girl so nice to have one of each xx

OnceUponAThread · 27/01/2022 17:24

@Loulou237 oh lovely.

Yes I will be happy with either way as long as all is healthy and well. But I do have a slight preference.

(DH has two already, so wouldn't mind having the opposite sex just so it's a bit "new" for him).

Can't wait to know either way and then start arguing about names. Grin

Loulou237 · 27/01/2022 17:54

@OnceUponAThread oh yes the name arguments are so much fun Grin

Oti22 · 27/01/2022 18:54

That’s great news @Loulou237 🙂 x

Hopingforarainbow27 · 28/01/2022 08:48

@chasingtherainbow1 what time is your scan today?

chasingtherainbow1 · 28/01/2022 10:48

@Hopingforarainbow27 just got back. I have a suspected molar pregnancy. Can't believe how unlucky i could be. 2 miscarriages and a molar, what next. Going to take a break from mumsnet because I don't feel it will help. Good luck for everyone for your pregnancies

Loulou237 · 28/01/2022 11:10

@chasingtherainbow1 I’m so sorry to hear this. I had a partial molar and it’s a lot to take in. Let me know if you have any questions I could maybe help with. I hope you’re ok or will be soon. Sending lots of love xx

Hopingforarainbow27 · 28/01/2022 12:30

@chasingtherainbow1 I'm so sorry

OnceUponAThread · 28/01/2022 12:42

I'm not going to @ you, I remember when I had my MMC every notification from the Mumsnet thread I was on broke my heart a bit more.

But if you do pop back, I just wanted to say I am so, so sorry for your loss. And if you want any advice or support or questions answered - we're all here for you. X

Oti22 · 28/01/2022 16:50

So sorry to hear this @chasingtherainbow1, sending lots of love xx

GinnyBee · 28/01/2022 16:58

So sorry to read these sad news :( take care of yourself!

susiebluebell · 28/01/2022 18:49

@chasingtherainbow1 I'm so sorry about your news. Come back if/when you want to x

susiebluebell · 30/01/2022 08:52

Good morning! I just wanted to come on and do a little happy dance and say I am now 16 weeks! Grin Might start saying it in months now!

Hope you're all having a good weekend x

Loulou237 · 30/01/2022 09:12

Oh that’s amazing @susiebluebell are you tempted to have a gender scan?! Grin

Congratulations! From my experience no one ever says it in months, same as children’s ages they are just 78 million weeks haha.

Not long til your 20 week scan yay xxx

susiebluebell · 30/01/2022 16:13

@Loulou237 I think we will be finding out the sex, yeah! I used to be sure I wanted the surprise, but my DP has brought me round to his way of thinking Smile So yeah, that'll be in about a month's time, which feels so odd!

How are you?

Oti22 · 30/01/2022 16:37

Congratulations @susiebluebell!

Is it just me that finds the week to month to trimester conversions confusing? They don’t add up! The range for 5 months pregnant seems to be 18 to 23 weeks...

Loulou237 · 30/01/2022 17:33

@susiebluebell yes it’s just too tempting and such a long time to wait to find out!

I’m good thank you, on the whole. Pregnancy doesn’t agree with me really but I’m resting as much as possible and reminding myself how amazing it all is and how lucky I am. I hope you’re well, are you experiencing the symptom free second trimester that most people get? Xx

OnceUponAThread · 30/01/2022 18:40

Congrats @susiebluebell - I think we're very close in dates! So exciting.
