Anyone else 5 weeks pregnant?

I got a lovely dye stealer this morning and I am so chuffed! After a CP in July, seeing that beautiful first line so dark is giving me great hope.

Anyone else 5 weeks? How are you feeling?

Ha yeah the dreams are so weird! I never usually remember dreams unless pregnant. That plus the sense of smell are usually my first tell tale signs before I even test! Plus my boobs have got massive!! Like spilling over my bras and my nipples.. so sensitive! I cant wait to get in bed today lol xx

Yeah totally normal. Its everything stretching and growing. You'll get all sorts of pains and twinges as the weeks go on! Lightening crotch is one of the weirdest lol xx

Also, I'm sure this is a really dumb question 😂
but I'm not familiar with all of the lingo and things... What does it mean when someone posts 6+1 or 5+4 in regards to how far gone they are?

@Blondiebrownie6 I haven't got a clue about how it all works in terms of ovulation and period or how many weeks I'd be I find it so confusing because they say count from last period which I would be 6+2. I have the flo app which I was due to ovulate that weekend and had the positive on the 28th. Waiting game really and I'm not patient lol x

@Snoopy28x thank you that makes so much sense 😂😂 I was thing 6+2... So 8? Why are people writing it this way? Wish I could blame hormones for my brain but I'm just blonde 😂. I do find this forum a god send though because obviously I don't want to tell anyone at the moment but I have so many questions. And find it so helpful reading other people's experiences.
What is lightening crotch? 😂😂😂. And a difference in breast size already? I have had no boob/nipple symptoms at all which I find strange I thought that would be one of the first things. Xx

@Lemonadee if it makes you feel better I had no boob pains etc with my first. They got bigger later on, no soreness. This time they are massive! Which they arent usually lol

Lightening crotch was the delight I experienced with ds.. I was walking along then all of a sudden it was like I got struck by lightening up the.. cough lady garden lol lasts a few mins then goes off. He used to sit on a nerve or something because I got that alot!!

@Snoopy28x I think I am 5+6 by looking at an app but can't be sure. I started with sickness last Monday (thought it was a bug) ever since then I've had a lot of nausea, cramping (thought it was AF on the way and didn't even notice my late period because I'm not always very regular), horrible taste in my mouth that won't go away regardless of what I eat, drink, how many times I brush my teeth, tiredness (this was the first symptom I had looking back), and thrush (sorry if TMI). It's not been the most fun and I'm imagining it only gets worse from here on now.

Can I ask... Were you ladies planning/ trying on getting pregnant or was your current pregnancy a surprise?

@Lemonadee mine was a surprise.. ! I turned 40 this year and thought my baby days were behind me. Then this one has sprung itself on me. Its taken me a few weeks to get my head round it!

@Snoopy28x oh my! That must have been a shock. I think I'm starting to get my head around it. How old are your other children if you dont mind me asking? I think once I've had my first appointment it'll sink in a little more. One thing I am concerned with is that I had been smoking and drinking prior to finding out.

@charlotte0808 I know, it can get confusing. They say from last period and assuming it’s a 28 day cycle but we often ovulate earlier/later than day 14 which can alter dates, or implantation can happen very quick or take a bit longer. A few days out to what you were thinking would be very normal. When I had a MC before my dates on my scan were 2 over weeks out which I 100% knew wasn’t right and knew that MC was pending. Your dates sound very similar to mine but 3 days later :) I know it prob won’t ease your worries but hopefully it helps a little. Have you considered having a private scan in a few weeks maybe?

@Snoopy28x haha that’s funny re boobs, my pancakes have Defos got a wee bit bigger and my nipples are sensitive but the pain comes and goes but I can see a difference, I want a real boom, my only chance of ever having big boobs lol! I’m counting on it! They don’t hurt as much as they did before mind :/ Oh me to, bed for 9 I think!

@Lemonadee very much trying here, welll over 2 years! It’s been a journey but hoping this one works out, how about you? Don’t worry about the boobs , I’ve noticed some change in mine but nothing like I did before! Everyone and every pregnancy is sooooo different! Some women sail through with little symptoms others get hit by every possible one! It’s such a nerve wracking time! I just want to be throwing up everywhere lol but then my mum said she had no sickness at all so maybe I’ll be the same? This past week I’ve had waves of feeling gaggy and nauseas but no actual sick xx

Thanks @Blondiebrownie6 has helped me. Had 4 miscarriages this year but after the first 2 my cycles were still spot on but the other 2 messed them up abit. I will defo be having another scan before 12 weeks could never wait that long! I am pleased they discharged me from epu as they see no concerns now but I think it's abit premature for past reasons but I will defo go private for one xx

@charlotte0808 oh bless you, I’m sorry :( you’ll be up to high heavens with worry, I’m totally with you after 2 losses, it feels so hard and really not enjoyable. I’m trying to keep positive but my scan next Monday will be the teller and I’m sure I’ll be all over the place if things don’t add up (and not take my own advice that I give to others lol!) Yes that’s good they discharged from EPU , they must be comfortable where everything is at. I agree, the wait until 12 weeks is far too long, a private scan would be worth it :) check they’d out and maybe try get something booked in so it gives you another date

No it was a complete shock for me. The biggest shock I've ever had I think. To be honest it was always on the back of my mind that I might struggle when I came to try for children due to different issues I've had in the past. So I was completely gobsmacked.

@Blondiebrownie6 I just read your previous post about miscarriages. I've ever so sorry to hear that - I can be such an idiot "congratulations that it's happened".

@Lemonadee mine is a result of trying - currently think I am around 5 + 1 or 2 so trying to think very practically at the moment, as still a long way to go to 12 weeks. I have no symptoms at all beyond a late period a positive test..I felt sick for 2 days when I found out but now think that might be more of a placebo effect. I find this forum so helpful and such a reassurance 😍 xx

Wow… morning sickness has really stepped up a gear this morning! Forgot how horrible it is.

@Skye90 oh hope you're okay? I was sick one morning before I found out and since then I have just felt very nauseous all the time. How far along are you?

Hey hope there's space for another one here! @lemonadee we were trying for just over two years, unexplained infertility meant all the tests, actually getting the postive test was a shock!

@skye90 the nausea is real! Seems to hit between 11 and 5, but luckily I'm working from home still so it's not too bad if I need a lie down. Also found that I get really travel sick, so I'll be staying at home for a few weeks 🤢

@Skye90 eek! I don't have any sickness here. I dont seem to (fingers crossed) suffer with it. I get nauseous if I wait to long between meals, or if I smell or see stuff.. like raw meat 🤢 xx

I am with you on the raw meat thing, even smelling it cooking (had chicken stir-fry last night) flipped my stomach @snoopy28x

Think I'm still in disbelief mode, keep wiping and expecting to see blood! I'm doing another test today just to put my mind at ease (because the sore boobs, and nausea aren't enough of a sign!)
