I got a lovely dye stealer this morning and I am so chuffed! After a CP in July, seeing that beautiful first line so dark is giving me great hope.

Anyone else 5 weeks? How are you feeling? Flowers

Can I ask... Were you ladies planning/ trying on getting pregnant or was your current pregnancy a surprise?

Mine was planned (sort of). I had a lap&dye in July for stage 4 endo, we’d been trying a couple of years without success (though our 6 year old was conceived by surprise while we were wedding planning!!)

We’d planned to wait slightly longer after the lap as I had a post op infection, but I was pregnant soon after!

Sorry your sickness has ramped up! Mine has too. I’m glad I can take an umbrella on the school run in case I have to be sick in the undergrowth! Are you on any meds? I’ve got metaclopramide and ondansetron (had HG last time) but they don’t work so well for that dizzy-vertigo-need to keep still sickness. I’ve been lying flat a lot too. I’ve got an early scan on Sat (will be 7 weeks I think so a chance of hearing the heartbeat but mostly to rule out ectopic).

Morning ladies!

We had been trying for around a year, it still doesn't seem real now that we are pregnant!
Is it normal to not have any symptoms? I felt nauseous most days last week and my boobs definitely started to feel heavier but now nothing...
I feel so anxious all the time like something is going to go wrong, please tell me that's normal too??
Like a lot of you on here I haven't told a single soul as it's still so early so really love having this little chat to listen to you all, put my mind at ease about things and ask random questions! Xx

Snoopy28x · 28/09/2021 09:30

So ladies.. I am a bit worried about something!!!

So dd has a best friend in school and ds goes to pre school with her little sister. Her little sister has now got hand foot and mouth...! She came down with it monday. We played round their house on friday. Of course the child is off pre school, however the dd best friend is still in school. I'm so worried that it's going to spread. I cant say to anyone I'm concerned because pregnant because obviously no one knows. I read that it can be dangerous in the first 3 months due to the possibility of a fever and that could cause mc.. Confused

Snoopy28x · 28/09/2021 10:44

My others are dd 4, just started reception. Ds just turned 2 and started pre school. So I'd just got a bit of me time back..! So I'll have a 5 year old, 3 year old and newborn Confused its gonna be emotional! I've had 3 mc at 11 weeks. So until I get to that 12 week point I cant let myself get to excited.

Do you have any other children? Were you planning on having any?

Snoopy28x · 28/09/2021 10:44

That was in reply to @Lemonadee

AR21 · 28/09/2021 11:08

@Hbythesea We are pretty much in the same place! I felt sick for a few days last week and now nothing. Have booked an early scan for 2 weeks today when I should be 7 weeks… it’ll be a long wait. Can you book an early scan?

Feeling extra nervous as my sister was sick throughout her pregnancies so worried that I am not feeling the same. Xx

How far gone do you think you are currently?

I have thought about an early scan but haven't booked anything yet.
Today I feel super tired, I had to take a short nap during the day which I never usually do!
X

babyboybluex · 28/09/2021 15:10

Early scan this morning and all looking very well. Saw that beautiful heartbeat!

@Snoopy28x Our 15 month old just had hand, foot and mouth from nursery and neither my partner or I got it! We just kept washing our hands and being super safe. Don't stress, you'll be ok Flowers

@babyboybluex thank you for the reassurance! So many bugs going round!

Beautiful scan picture 😍 xx

Tofu35 · 28/09/2021 15:49

Aww @babyboybluex that is a great scan photo! So excited for you.

Tomorrow I get to do my first "cancel social event because Im too queasy to leave the house" excuse. It's a shame because it's been in the diary for 6 months (thanks covid) but no way I'm travelling on public transport and sitting in a busy cafe with loads of food smells. A recipe for disaster!

Hollylil · 28/09/2021 16:27

Hi All
Im 5 weeks 4 days,
I've been getting side pains the past 2 days, (more side waist upper ) sharp pains that come and go, is this bloating, digestive pains?
Just trying to figure out whats normal. Its definately more upper than lower pain in abdomen.

Cant help but worry!

Lemonadee · 28/09/2021 17:53

@Tofu35 Congratulations! You must be over the moon!! Is this your first pregnancy? How are feeling with symptoms ? Xx

Lemonadee · 28/09/2021 17:56

@babyboybluex that's a great scan picture. Congratulations 👏 xx

Lemonadee · 28/09/2021 17:59

@snoopy28x no this is my first pregnancy and I'd not planned on or really thought having any children just yet although I was getting to that stage in life where I'm thinking "I'm getting on a bit". That's why this forum is such a godsend because I have literally no idea what to expect with pregnancy so it's nice to share the journey and read up on everyone else's experiences. X

Lemonadee · 28/09/2021 18:01

On a good note (think it's good) I haven't had any nausea at all today, so I took advantage of the moment and scoffed half a packet of Jaffa cakes... Oops 🤣

Tofu35 · 28/09/2021 19:17

@lemonadee definitely between MN and youtube, it's keeping me right! I was on the TTC forum before this, and it was a lovely supportive bunch, lots of handholds when people got their period or negative tests.

Jaffacakes must have vitamin c in them, right? 😂

Relieved the nausea isn't hitting as soon as I wake up, so there's some time of "normal me" before I turn into a wee ghost (that eats pretzels and plain crisps constantly).

acupofteamakeseverythingbetter · 28/09/2021 19:42

@Tofu35 Ive devoured 3 packets of pombear crisps today! Oops 😬

AR21 · 28/09/2021 19:51

I think I am around 5+3, so at the very beginning of the adventure at the moment. How about you? And how are you feeling?

I definitely understand the nap situation - I am not too tired but I am utterly useless with regards to concentrating by around 2pm! Is this your first? Xx

Blondiebrownie6 · 28/09/2021 21:44

Yes I’ll keep you posted @charlotte0808 I’m feeling nervous the closer it gets! How are you feeling today ?

Aw that’s ok @Lemonadeejust hoping this a wee healthy one and we make it past the 8 weeks! That’s exciting it’s been unexpected though , you must be going through all the motions :) have you told anyone at all or do you plan to wait?

Great scan pic @babyboybluex, what a feeling to see the wee heartbeat on the screen! You must be on cloud 9!

@Snoopy28x hope your wee one is feeling a bit better today. I’m not too sure what to advise on the hand food and mouth situation, I didn’t even know this was a thing lol! Just keep your distance and keep cleaning/washing etc xx

charlotte0808 · 28/09/2021 21:55

You'll be fine 😊 feeling ok really still light pink when I wipe no pain so not sure what it could be. Going to phone the midwife tomorrow and book private scan for late next week xx

Hyggeandhugs · 28/09/2021 22:13

Congratulations Flowers It's nice to know we're all in it together...

I'm currently 5+3 and pretty sure my cat knew before I did! We were trying for a year but didn't think it'd worked.

Still feels like I'm about to get my period with light stretching-type cramps. Mainly tired and hungry and need to nap immediately after lunch (thank goodness for wfh) and the backache is surprising. On another thread panicking about the fact I'm coming down with a cold, but I guess everyone's terrified when they've had a MC before. Anyone else had/got a cold in the first few weeks?

Snoopy28x · 29/09/2021 06:55

Thank you @Blondiebrownie6 he was up sick all night again. I thought we had passed the worst of it!!! Poor Dh isnt used to this sleep deprivation! Ds has been in our bed all night.. hes so wriggly and doesnt like the duvet on him Hmm

Feeling queasy this morning, its various smells that set me off lol I hope I avoid actual morning sickness!

@Hyggeandhugs yep me! I had a cold a couple of weeks ago, however managed to beat it with lots of vit c and didnt need any paracetamol. You can take it if you need it, the midwife assured me of that in my last pregnancy. Although I try not to. Honey and lemon will be your friend for the next 9 months, that's pretty much all you can take! I used to slather dh in vicks at night to help me breathe lol!

@charlotte0808 sorry to hear your having spotting, try not to worry. My midwife said that 50% of her ladies experienced spotting at some point in their pregnancy. I hope you get your scan to reassure you xx

@AR21 I feel you on the 2pm thing. I have to battle to keep my eyes open!! You cant describe the tiredness can you? It's like you've had a sleeping tablet and trying to fight it to stay awake! Lol I'm doing an evening course once a week so trying to concentrate in that at 6pm is a struggle lol

@Lemonadee well congratulations on your pregnancy! I think it never seems real until the scan. Even then I cant get my head round the fact we can grow humans! It's a weird and wonderful experience lol

@acupofteamakeseverythingbetter haha prom bears are good! Is it salty things your fancying?

@Hollylil all sorts of pains and twinges are normal. I know it's hard not to worry! Its everything stretching and growing inside. Could also be baby burrowing in further getting comfy for the next 9 months xx

@Tofu35 good call on cancelling! Not sure I could deal with that situation lol xx

Skye90 · 29/09/2021 08:12
@Skye90 oh hope you're okay? I was sick one morning before I found out and since then I have just felt very nauseous all the time. How far along are you?
I should be around 7 weeks but when I had my EPU scan they measured me a week or so behind so not really sure at the moment.

It’s hard because sickness is a good sign but at the same time it’s horrendous. Like the worst hangover ever!!
