Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

Good Luck @Dyra.... at least you dont have too long to wait like u say. I hope its amazing for you.
Mine is at 11am. Been awake most of the night.

GeorgiaMcGraw · 21/09/2021 08:00

Good luck @dyra and @scoaf and anyone else having a scan today! Also, can anyone reassure me/tell me I'm being mad? 11+2 today and I've woken up with breasts that don't really hurt (just a little tender compared to agonisingly sore) for the first time in weeks. Now panicking it's an mmc. Only a little nausea atm, but that does come and go throughout the day.

Scoaf · 21/09/2021 08:17

Thanks @GeorgiaMcGraw. This is the slowest morning ever 🤣
Yes i had a similar experience. Ive not had many symptoms at all but what i did have disappeared around 10weeks.
I have a private scan i was that worried but the lovely sonographer reassured me that its the time that the placenta starts to take over so its quite common for symptoms to drop off 🤗 Hope this helps. X

GeorgiaMcGraw · 21/09/2021 09:02

Thanks @scoaf, that is really helpful 👍

bubblepond · 21/09/2021 10:13

Good luck for today @Dyra and @Scoaf !

Thank you @Hayesdays and @Dyra ! For the record, I think you're all superwomen too. 1 night down, 3 to go!

Last day of 1st trimester for me today :) Scan on Friday straight after I finish my last night shift, starting to get nervous now!

Nats7504 · 21/09/2021 10:29

Good luck to everyone having scans today ❤️

Dyra · 21/09/2021 12:43

Thanks everyone! Grin

Scan went wonderfully. Measuring 13+2 now, so due date has shifted to 27th March. Baby was super wriggly and awkward to scan (just like their older sister❤️). So not many good photos. Fortunately the sonographer did manage to get a nuchal measurement! So we're going to get the screening this time around. So, so happy and relieved. Already counting down to early November and the anomaly scan!

GeorgiaMcGraw · 21/09/2021 13:21

@dyra great news, congratulations!

charley39 · 21/09/2021 13:52

@Dyra glad your scan went well!

Scoaf · 21/09/2021 14:46

Thanks for all the well wishes.
Scan went well. Baby kept changing positions so couldnt get the best scan photo but all looks good. Im measuring 13+1 so my due date is now 28th March. Also found out my blood group Rehisis Negative so have to have some extra injections. Anybody else the same?

Scoaf · 21/09/2021 14:46

@Dyra ah wow... amazing news.

Hayesdays · 21/09/2021 15:08

Congratulations on all the scans today ladies!
I’m on the final count down for mine which is this Friday, I’m a bag of nerves!

@Scoaf yes me! I have exotic rare blood too, I’m a B-
Is this your first baby? You’ll just have to have some anti D injections, that’s it. And just be careful not to fall or bump the bump which obviously you would any way! Let me know if you have any questions ☺️

charley39 · 21/09/2021 15:18

@Scoaf so glad yours went well!

I’m also rhesus negative so will be having the injection.
I had to have an extra injection in my last pregnancy as I had some bleeding so they are just a bit more careful with that kind of thing if it happens. I also had an injection straight after the birth aswell.

Scoaf · 21/09/2021 15:25

@Hayesdays
Yes first baby but ive had 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy. Does that change anything?
Sorry the midwife didnt really explain much just told me and then gabe me a leaflet to take home with me.

Scoaf · 21/09/2021 15:27

@charley39
Ah so its not really anything to worry about?
Ive been a nervous wreck all pregnancy and thought i could relax after this scan but then they told me that 🤣

Nats7504 · 21/09/2021 15:27

@Scoaf I have blood type AB-, no one has mentioned anything to me with any of my 3 pregnancies so I assume mine is ok 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

Congrats on everyone’s scan today. Magical to see your baby on the screen ❤️

Hayesdays · 21/09/2021 15:31

@Scoaf I don’t think it makes any difference. When they took your bloods at the booking in appointment they would have checked for antibodies, if there had been any blood mixing I would have thought the antibodies would show. But if you’re concerned just give your midwife a quick call I’m sure they will be more than happy to discuss with you. It’s what they’re there for ☺️

Dyra · 21/09/2021 15:32

Ooooooooooooooooo. B Neg is very rare @Hayesdays. That's what? 1-2 in 100? I'm a boring A Pos.

As Hayesdays says (that's fun to say!) @Scoaf, you'll have an anti-D injection at 28 weeks. If you also bump you bump hard enough that there's a risk baby's blood and your blood might mix, they'll give you another injection. They will also take a sample of blood from the umbilical cord immediately after birth to check baby's blood group. If baby is rhesus negative, great, no more anti-D needed. If baby's blood group is rhesus positive then you will be given another anti-D injection to prevent you from being sensitised. Do you know your DP/H's blood group? If he's negative as well, that means baby is definitely negative. If positive, then either 50/50 or 100%. Congratulations on your scan!

Dyra · 21/09/2021 15:37

@Nats7504 The rarest of the rare blood groups!

charley39 · 21/09/2021 15:39

@Scoaf no not really. I was always told it was more of a risk for your following pregnancies if you were to have any and hadn’t been given the anti-d as your body creates antibodies and therefore can attack the baby’s blood cells so risk of miscarriage in subsequent pregnancies.
Also yes depends on if you know partners blood type most people don’t that’s why they give the injections is my understanding!

Nats7504 · 21/09/2021 15:40

@Dyra Really? I’ve never checked to be honest. My midwife has never mentioned it so I thought I was a standard type! God knows what OH has 🤣

Dyra · 21/09/2021 15:45

@Nats7504 Yup. Less than 1 in 100 people.

Hayesdays · 21/09/2021 15:53

Yes @Nats7504 you’re a walking diamond!

I finally got my appointment to donate some of the royal blood after years of waiting and then the week after, I found out I was pregnant - doh! Haha will try again after breastfeeding hopefully 🤞

Nats7504 · 21/09/2021 15:55

@Dyra @Hayesdays I’ve just been reading up on it. I’m a selfish blood type. I can have all your blood but you can’t have mine 🤣

Scoaf · 21/09/2021 16:03

Thanks everyone. You are all more informative than the midwife 🤣
Ive just read my notes again and im A Negative.
OH is a regular blood donor so i know he is Positive. I have an auto immune disease so im not allowed to give blood so never known mine.
Just some more fun to add to the mix hey..
Who knew pregnancy was such a minefield 🤣
