Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

@68degreesnorth yes I’ve heard the odd story about them getting it wrong. I think squished boy parts can sometimes look like a girl.

My sonographer was so good. She showed us all around and definitely no boy parts so it would be bizarre if a boy. Everything else points to girl for us too: symptoms, the skull shape and how I’m carrying. I’m feeling quite confident.

I’m glad I was 17 plus when I had the scan. The EPAU showed us the potty shot at 15 weeks and it looked just like a mound. Could have been either to be honest. Now baby has the clearly defined three white lines so those couple of weeks make a big difference. Xx

FirstTimer22 · 25/10/2021 11:06

Hey ladies. Sorry for being MIA for a while! So exciting finding out what you are having. I've decided to wait until my 20 week scan but can't wait to know! I'm 17+6 and have found the last few days I've had a slight recurrence of my early symptoms... looser stools & nausea. Not to the same degree but just odd as seemed to come out of nowhere! Has anyone else had this? X

Catconfusion · 25/10/2021 11:30

@FirstTimer22 I’ve not felt well at all over the weekend. The sickness randomly came back this morning. I’m 17 plus 4 and have had a better few weeks. It’s so frustrating so I know how you feel. Xx

FirstTimer22 · 25/10/2021 13:21

@Catconfusion ah sorry to hear that! It is good to know it's not just me though. I've had a couple of near misses for vomiting last few days but managed to get myself out of it with some deep breathing! It's not bothering me too much at the mo though as def not as bad as it was, just hope it doesn't hang around! X

Dyra · 25/10/2021 15:32

Sorry to hear the sickness has returned, but also a tiny bit glad I'm not alone. No sickness, but heartburn and fatigue have returned this week. Not quite as bad as it was, but a large part of Saturday was spent lying on the sofa knocking back Renee's watching Zootopia on repeat.

FirstTimer22 · 25/10/2021 21:47

Aww @Dyra ! How far along are you? It's reassuring to know this seems to be a thing, as annoying as it is! X

Dyra · 26/10/2021 09:04

18+2 today. ☺️

Hopefully it goes away as quickly as at reappeared. Definitely not as tired today, so fingers crossed it's gone and stays gone. A very unwelcome symptom raised itself last night as well. Leg cramps. Urgh.

GeorgiaMcGraw · 26/10/2021 11:32

Hello all, how are you today? I've just had my 16wk appt and the midwife offered to check the heartbeat with the doppler, which i wasn't expecting! Really lovely though, baby has a good, strong heartbeat. V reassuring. I'm getting movements, but sporadically.

68degreesnorth · 26/10/2021 14:47

@Dyra ooh leg cramps, is that a pregnancy thing? I've been having them the last week but didn't think of it as being related!

Dyra · 26/10/2021 15:10

@68degreesnorth Unfortunately yes. They're common in pregnancy, but no-one seems sure exactly why. I just try to keep my legs toasty warm at night and if a cramp does happen, try to stretch it out as quick as I can.

Awwww how lovely @GeorgiaMcGraw.

68degreesnorth · 26/10/2021 19:59

@GeorgiaMcGraw oh yes the Doppler is great, I've already been offered that twice, and got to record the first one 🤎 I'm tempted to buy one actually but the good ones are a bit expensive. I started having movement two weeks ago and the odd big kick here and there, visible on the stomach 🤎

68degreesnorth · 26/10/2021 20:00

@Dyra how interesting, thank you 🙏

68degreesnorth · 26/10/2021 20:12

Has any of you bought anything from Vertbaudet by any chance? Found a few things there but never really heard of them!

Carolinesyear · 27/10/2021 09:39

Aw that sounds really lovely @GeorgiaMcGraw. I also thought about getting a Doppler but I think it would have become an addiction. I have a private scan (NIPT) tomorrow to find out the sex and make sure everything is progressing nicely. I've not felt any movements and I am 17 weeks today

Hope everyone is doing ok. I’m counting the days until my 20 week scan (9!) and looking at prams to entertain myself. Am planning on the Bugaboo Fox, but I’m finding it disappointing how bland all their colour choices are. Has anyone decided on their pram yet?

Dyra · 27/10/2021 14:18

Oh wow! That isn't long until your scan @Derbee! Exciting stuff. Mine's 16 days away, but I can't wait to see all the scan pictures appearing!

I'm sticking with the pram I've already got (Nuna Mixx). DD seems to be more interested in riding on the back rather than sitting in it all of a sudden, so I'm investing in a buggy board. Worst comes to the worst and she does want the pushchair back when she sees baby in it, well at least we've got her old baby carrier.

Can't wait to go baby shopping after Christmas. Need an indoors sling (the carrier is a bit too big for indoor use) and a place for baby to sleep. Plus all the other odds and ends we're going to need.

Nats7504 · 27/10/2021 15:56

Afternoon ladies. Glad everyone is doing ok (apart from the sickness!) I’m still taking my anti sickness meds, I tried to reduce down to 2 a day and started being sick again so went back to the 3! 😩 When did you fellow HG sufferers stop/wean yourself off them?

I have my 20 week scan on Monday, I’m a little anxious but looking forward to seeing little man on the screen. His movements are pretty strong already so dreading what his full term kicks are going to feel like 🙈

@Derbee Your 20 week scan is pretty close to mine! I think we’re going for the icandy peach pram. I’ve always drooled over them prams and they were either not around or too expensive with my other 2. Anyone started making any purchases yet?

Scoaf · 27/10/2021 17:12

Hi Everyone.
So exciting that everyone is nearing their 20weeks scan. Mine is 2 weeks today 🤗
Im curently nursing a cold and Laryngitis and there is so much you cant take whilst pregnant.
Weve been looking at the Mamas and Papas Ocarro but are waiting for black friday to see if we can get any good deals 😉

theconfused · 27/10/2021 17:51

Hey guys! I hope you're all well!

Random question, but is pregnancy and having HG something you can request flexible working for?

I'm currently 18 weeks and I'm not sure whether there's an individual policy each workplace has or what I need to do to get this requested?

If you have any past experience, please enlighten meeee!

Dyra · 27/10/2021 19:41

@theconfused No experience with HG or flexible working while pregnant, but I filled in a flexible working form only the other day (childcare related). Pregnancy is a protected characteristic, so you've got a reasonable possibility of your request being granted. Have you had any input from HR/occupational health regarding the HG?

Hopefully your HG goes away soon either way.

Cheekymonkey3112 · 27/10/2021 20:03

Hey everyone!! How are you all? I was on the 1st thread way back when! I'm 18w tomorrow and officially due 31/03, which will definitely be April the 16th no doubt 😂

I had a private scan at 16w+3 and found out baby is a girl 💗

FirstTimer22 · 27/10/2021 20:22

Sorry to hear you're suffering with HG still - can't imagine what that's like! You poor thing.

I haven't felt any movements yet either, there have been a few times I've wondered but think more likely something else, got my 20 week scan in 2 weeks.

I was thinking of waiting for Black Friday for the pram too! X

FirstTimer22 · 27/10/2021 20:23

@Cheekymonkey3112 so exciting to know what you're having, congrats!! Can't wait to find out and know if everything's ok.

Cheekymonkey3112 · 27/10/2021 21:09

I'm exactly the same @FirstTimer22 at my 16w scan baby's head and stomach was in the 90th centile and the femur was only in the 20th so I'm worrying about that. My 20w scan isn't until I'm 21w, 3 weeks tomorrow x

Nats7504 · 27/10/2021 21:46

@theconfused I’ve suffered with HG this pregnancy and was off sick for 7 weeks with it. Grim isn’t it? Never felt so ill or low. Are you on medication still? What kind of flexible working are you needing? Longer breaks etc?

I know with my company (banking) all my sickness was classed as pregnancy related and I had a OH referral to make sure I was fit to work when I came back. I WFH so no further action was needed as I was at home. What
