Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

Hi all

Had my scan & I have the official due date of 9th April 🥰
We're not going to find out the sex but still doesn't stop me looking at the scan trying to see haha even tho I have no idea what I'm looking for & it's too early 😂

@bubblybrit ive found boohoo to be quite reasonably priced ive just done an order for work clothes so not sure of the quality but my work clothes get trashed anyway so don't like to pay to much for clothes.

bubblybrit · 11/10/2021 14:42

So pleased that your scan went well @rosiej95. Thank you for the info. I’ll have a look online. Had a quick look at Next but reluctant to pay some of the prices as would rather save it for baby!

Dyra · 11/10/2021 15:00

I've bought my maternity stuff from H&M. But then I'm living in maternity joggers (POCKETS!) and vest tops with a large cardigan for warmth. I get to wear scrubs at work, no need to buy anything fancy. Don't fancy buying a brand new coat just for pregnancy, so really hoping I don't get so large my current one won't wrap around. Got nursing bras from last time (hadn't stopped wearing them..), but M&S seem to have some new ones in last time I was in there that were a bit more generously sized.

Congratulations on your scan @rosiej95!

Countingchicks · 11/10/2021 15:29

@bubblybrit I've been buying maternity leggings from Love Leggings as they do a tall range too. Very comfy. Just wearing with loose tunic top. Very casual I suppose but I'm not hunting for more clothing as it's hard enough buying clothes as a tallie

Hayesdays · 11/10/2021 16:15

@bubblybrit I got a few nice bits from jojo maman baby. If you have a store to go to they even have a fake bump you can strap on so you can see how you’ll look when you get bigger!
I also got a few bits from boohoo and ebay for second hand nice things. And SHEIN have LOADS of stuff, but expect to loose a week whilst your scroll through everything!

Hayesdays · 11/10/2021 16:17

@rosiej95 congratulations on the scan! I am convinced I’m having a girl based on the nub theory…but I’m not as patient as you and will find out.

Apparently not finding out makes you push harder haha! So you’ll have to let me know if there’s any truth to it!

bubblybrit · 11/10/2021 16:49

Thank you @Countingchicks and @Hayesdays. I really need to start ordering some clothes as I’m super uncomfortable at the moment. I have one pair of maternity leggings kicking about from my last pregnancy and that’s about it! Makes such a difference when I have those on.

bubblybrit · 11/10/2021 16:50

Meant to add @Dyra into the above as well

rosiej95 · 11/10/2021 18:40

@bubblybrit I'm loving there baby clothes tho haha! 🥰

@Hayesdays oo how long until you find out?
I've read about the nub & skull theory ect but not a clue where I'm looking for on the nub & then I'll see some threads on here where I'm like oo that skull looks like a girl & then they announce it's a boy & im like... 👀🤦🏼‍♀️😂
Midwifes looking At scans amaze me! 🥰

Haha I'll be honest that was kinda my thought process too 😂😂
Will keep you updated when the time comes 😂👍🏻

Mazblue86 · 11/10/2021 18:55

@bubblybrit

Thank you *@Countingchicks and @Hayesdays*. I really need to start ordering some clothes as I’m super uncomfortable at the moment. I have one pair of maternity leggings kicking about from my last pregnancy and that’s about it! Makes such a difference when I have those on.
I got mamalicious leggings from John Lewis. Two pairs for £25 which seemed pricey but I think they will last... I also gave in and bought maternity jeans from next and they are super comfy!
Hayesdays · 11/10/2021 20:06

@rosiej95 it’s booked for the 30th! I can’t wait!
Haha I’ve never got to grips with the skull theory but I’ve gotten pretty good at the nub theory…although in my photo it isn’t visible 🤦🏼‍♀️. But I did get a good look whilst the scan was happening haha!

Yes they’re amazing! Our sonographer said that she needed a degree in physics before she could qualify, they’re so clever, my mind is blown by what they can see!

Dyra · 11/10/2021 21:16

@Mazblue86 Ooooo. I never thought about John Lewis having maternity wear. I went for H&M because it's one of two shops I could think of that have maternity wear in store. Next being the other. I hate buying clothes without at least trying them on first.

Scoaf · 12/10/2021 10:49

Hi Everyone.
So sorry to everyone who is still feeling rubbish.
Anybody finding the wait to the 20week scan the longest wait ever? 🤦‍♀️
Mine is booked for 10th Nov and i cant wait for it to be here. Ive caved and booked a private scan for this Saturday, im finding it difficult not knowing if everything is ok with my little one. I guess it will be better once i can feel them moving around. X

StampOnTheGround · 12/10/2021 10:54

14 weeks today - still feel exhausted 😂 had my 12 week scan when I was 11+3, so the wait until my 20 week scan (which is in for 26th November) is way too long.

I think I'll have to book a private scan for a couple of weeks time!

Countingchicks · 12/10/2021 11:47

@Scoaf I felt the same so caved and had mine on Saturday which was very reassuring as 16w midwife appointment this morning took a while to find heartbeat on doppler but I was ok with it taking a while as I knew all was ok from Saturday

Scoaf · 12/10/2021 11:55

@StampOnTheGround
That does sounds like a long wait. I thought mine was bad 🤣
What did people do before private scans? 🤣

Scoaf · 12/10/2021 11:56

@Countingchicks
I have my 16week appt tomorrow but have read that not all midwives check the heartbeat. Fingers crossed mine does as im feeling a little anxious.

Pac35 · 12/10/2021 12:17

Has anyone felt movements yet? I'm now 17+3 and haven't felt anything yet. Can't wait to feel it moving! At our trust they're
not offering 16 week appointment because if covid and I have to wait for 20 weeks!

Nats7504 · 12/10/2021 12:23

I had my 26 week appointment last week and she didn’t check the babies heartbeat. I’m next seeing her at 25 weeks now so hopefully she’ll start doing it then.

@Pac35 I’m 17+1 and I’ve been feeling baby for about a week or so. It’s my 3rd baby so my stomach muscles are probably knackered! 🤣

We had a private scan at the weekend and found out we’re having a little boy 💙 I already have 2 boys (with ex husband) Wish me luck 🙈

Nats7504 · 12/10/2021 12:24

16 week not 26 🙈🤣

Scoaf · 12/10/2021 12:28

Im 16+1 and ive had some fluttering/bubbling feeling which im not sure if its the baby or just wind 🤣🙈 its my 1st so im not sure what im looking out for.
@Nats7504 aww Congratulations... house full of boys.

Nats7504 · 12/10/2021 12:32

@Scoaf it feels like wind to begin with so sounds like it could be the start! 😊 I can feel little kicks now and he moves from one side to the other. I’m hoping this doesn’t mean he’s going to be massive. Would be ironic if he is as I’m having extra scans and tests due to having previous small babies 🤣

Scoaf · 12/10/2021 12:38

@Nats7504
Oh i do hope thats what it is 🥰
That must feel so strange. Plenty of room for him to grow then. That must be reasurring having the extra scans.
Ive also got a consultant appy tomorrow due to having an autoimmune disease and not really sure what to excpect 🤷‍♀️

Nats7504 · 12/10/2021 12:45

@Scoaf As baby gets bigger you’ll be able to tell. Your stomach muscles are still strong so it takes a little longer. Think I was around 19 weeks with my first but had been feeling flutters for a week or so and didn’t know!
I had a consultant appointment at 14 weeks, it was just a load of questions and they put together a plan of ongoing care. I have an appointment with them after my 20 week scan and I have to have a uterine Doppler scan (I had to google this as I had no idea what it was) and I see them again after that. It’s reassuring to be kept a closer eye on. Work are over the moon with the extra appointments 🙈

Scoaf · 12/10/2021 13:06

@Nats7504 oh i can't wait. Im hoping i might finally relax then 🤣 who am i kidding?
Ah just a box ticking exercise really then?
Ive just had to google too 🤣 but isnt technology amazing. Its so good they are keeping an eye on you and your little 1 though.
Haha im so lucky my work are really good since im out of the office from 10am tom with both appointments in 1 day 🤦‍♀️
