Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

I have the badger thing too…why a badger though?! 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️
I’ve not had any problems though. It’s brand new, only launched in august I think, so we are literally the first mums to use it! I think you can request to go to paper notes if your prefer.

@Bluebell88 not sure if it’s the same for all trusts but with mine I have to book my checkups (16 weeks etc) with the midwife directly as it’s done at my doctors surgery so perhaps that’s why it’s not showing yet?

Bluebell88 · 30/09/2021 13:18

@Hayesdays
My midwife has confirmed my appointment via text, just odd that it’s not showing in the app because my booking appointment was.

As you say it’s pretty new and even my midwife seemed to struggle/get frustrated with it at my booking appointment.

The hospital did say I should get written confirmation of results in the post within 2 weeks if everything was low risk so hopefully it will turn up today/tomorrow - Royal Mail have staff shortages in our area so we don’t get post as regularly as we should!

bubblybrit · 30/09/2021 17:55

@Carolinesyear. Yes they can tell you the sex during the harmony test. They may be able to confirm at 16 weeks via the scan but I got the harmony test done at 11/12 weeks so I had to wait until bloods came back.

bubblybrit · 30/09/2021 17:56

I agree with @Countingchicks. The app is hopeless so I’ve stopped using it to be honest.

Carolinesyear · 30/09/2021 18:27

Ooh I'm very tempted by the harmony, I always planned on getting a private scan at 16 weeks anyway but this one is soooo much more expensive. Am I being ridiculous to want one? To find out the sex and to put my mind at ease about potential problems, is it worth it?

I found it totally worth it @Carolinesyear. It is sooo much more accurate than the standard tests and for me it gave me complete peace of mind (I’m 37 so age was a factor for me). I got 1/10000 for Down’s, Edwards and Patau and I felt that a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders (esp as I had a MMC in Dec so convinced myself that something would be wrong with this pregnancy)

bubblepond · 30/09/2021 20:13

How is everyone getting on with those pesky first trimester symptoms now that most of us are in the second trimester?

I still feel sick in the mornings and until late afternoon but am able to eat normally in the evenings! And finally getting some energy back too ☺️

Stopping myself from buying baby clothes is so tough!

GeorgiaMcGraw · 30/09/2021 21:21

@bubblepond glad you're starting to feel a bit better. Hiw far along are you now? I was feeling better too, sickness and fatigue easing up (I'm 12+4 today, dating scan in a week) but freaking out a bit because I've had pink/red spotting tonight. Phoned epu who said not to worry unless I fill a pad in an hour, but we've gone and booked a private scan tomorrow anyway. Hoping it's just spotting because I've had thrush (after antibiotics for a water infection - isn't pregnancy glamorous?). Guess we'll see how things look tomorrow.

heywhatswrongwitu · 30/09/2021 21:52

@bubblepond I'm 15 weeks and the last few days have been utter bliss compared to the last 10 weeks - now just really low level nausea, still just want to eat carbs carbs carbs but I can actually function now.. hope I'm not jinxing it but I feel like maybe I'm coming out the other side!!

Carolinesyear · 01/10/2021 09:22

How are you today @GeorgiaMcGraw has the spotting stopped, I'm sure it's nothing, some women bleed every month. Best of luck with scan xx

GeorgiaMcGraw · 01/10/2021 09:30

@carolinesyear thanks, hoping it's just irritation caused by thrush/pessaries. Still had the same small amount of pink/red when I wiped this morning. Just glad we've booked a scan tonight so hoping it goes well and the spotting doesn't get worse. How are you doing?

charley39 · 01/10/2021 16:34

Had a good few days and thought maybe I was starting to turn the corner. Horrendous day today haven’t kept any food or water downSad

Countingchicks · 01/10/2021 16:43

I had a hormone rage yesterday followed by tears so I don't see the second trimester going smoothly! 🤦‍♀️

GeorgiaMcGraw · 01/10/2021 19:29

Hi all, just had a private scan because I was panicked about some spotting, it went very well! I'm 13+1, and they're pretty sure it's a boy! I can't believe how lucky I am. The sonographer said the NT looked good too, but I'll get the measurements at the nhs dating scan next week I suppose. Sonographer said not to worry about the spotting, said it's probably just excess blood vessels coming to the surface of the cervix/vagina. Hope you're all well x

Scoaf · 01/10/2021 19:42

Congratulations to everyone with all the new scans.
How is everyone feeling?
14+4 today and felt so achy and bloated. Anybody else? X

Dyra · 01/10/2021 21:54

Glad your scan has gone well today @GeorgiaMcGraw. OOI, what did they see to guess you're having a boy? When next week is your scan? Hopefully early!

@Scoaf 14+5... I was promised I would be energy again in the second trimester.... I want my money back!

GeorgiaMcGraw · 01/10/2021 22:37

Thanks @scoaf and @dyra. @dyra he sort of pointed at a... protuberance... in the crotch area (baby, not me) and said "boy. You can't be 100% sure - no, wait, that's pretty certain actually, it's a boy" 😂 i couldn't really tell what he was looking at, but he seems to know his stuff so I'll believe him. I'm happy either way, though.

Scoaf · 02/10/2021 07:39

@Dyra

Ah not just me then.... i actually feel worse than in my 1st trimester 😏 im asleep by 9pm most nights x

Carolinesyear · 02/10/2021 08:44

@GeorgiaMcGraw I'm so so pleased, I think your spotting problem (like mine ) is just something we have to put up with, I suppose it just means we have to spend extra on private scans, great you found out you're having a boy! I really really want a boy too.
Incidentally I havnt spotted (omg touch wood) since quite a big bleed at 8 weeks. I do however have quite dark cream coloured discharge, I don't think it's an infection as I've had it since the very beginning and no other symptoms.
I have such sore tingly boobs today! Like so so painful and sudden sharp pains, anyone else experiencing this?
Hope everyone is well, next big milestone after dating scan (I know some people havnt had it yet) is the sex of the baby, I'm definitely finding out... who's with me?

GeorgiaMcGraw · 02/10/2021 09:50

@carolinesyear thank you, hoping it is just the hypervascularisation the sonographer described that causes the spotting - I'm still wiping and finding pink/red now. Trying to stay calm though, can't have a scan every day, and good news at 13 weeks is pretty promising! Sorry your boobs are so sore, my are sore but not quite as bad now. May be a growth spurt? New bra time perhaps (that's on my list of things to do too).

Twinkles18 · 02/10/2021 17:45

@carolinesyear I'm definitely finding out too!! Don't mind what we have but I'm just too impatient to not know 😂 convinced it's a girl though. Gender scan booked for next Thursday 🥰

Hayesdays · 02/10/2021 23:13

Evening all! Went for my second 12 week scan on Friday. I’m very relieved and happy to share that all is looking good, got a low NF measurement of 1.3 and baby had grown SO much since last week. The picture was so much clearer as baby was way above my C-section scar. Couldn’t believe how different it was!
Due date is now the 11th of April instead of the 7th, so looks like the little bean has caught up a bit (at my 7 week scan they said it measured between 5-6 weeks so I’ve been worrying since then!)

I’m also CONVINCED it’s a girl based on the nub! Sonographer said nub theory is a load of rubbish…but I’ll eat my hat if it’s a boy!

Sorry to hear some of you are having a few worries of your own. I hope all goes well for you. Take care of yourselves xxx

Kat2022 · 03/10/2021 10:10

@Hayesdays that’s great news. How did you find out about NF measurement? I had my dating scan at 12+6 and the sonography just said it all looks perfect. I had blood tests done on the same day last Tuesday and I’ve not heard anything from the hospital since. I’ve been doing so much research about the nub therapy also but really don’t know. My sister was convinced it was a baby girl based on the online research and she found out she was having a boy haha I think it’s a boy but then I’ve been so sick and it may be a little stubborn girl like me - so hard to tell. my due date was moved from the 11th to 6th of April haha not complaining if I gained extra a few days. Ive been so sick and I can’t hold any food down after 2pm. It’s my first baby and I’m so exhausted…. I’m hoping 3-4 more weeks and I feel start to feel a bit better. xx

Hayesdays · 03/10/2021 12:33

@Kat2022 they told me the measurement there and then. I think it’s on my paperwork too, did you get given a print out with all the measurements on? And yup I had a blood test too so like you am waiting on the results of those.
Ahh really! Haha well I guess I will have to wait until the end of the month to know for sure, I can’t wait to find out it’s sex!
Sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. The placenta should be kicking in soon so hopefully that’ll help ease the nausea and make you feel better. Funny how our due dates have pretty much swapped to each other’s haha!
