Hi everyone made a new thread for all the ladies due end of March beginning of April 2022. We are coming to the end of the first trimester, some of you have already crossed that important milestone! Some are starting to get bumps and sickness could be leaving, has anyone got that 'glow' yet... fat chance

@Nats7504
Haha nice to know im not they only 1 shitting myself.
I am a bit of a natural worrier but this is ridiculous 🙈 i just want to know all ok so i can finally try to relax and enjoy this pregnancy. 😊

Scoaf · 24/09/2021 10:32

@Catconfusion
Thanks so much for your lovely message 😊
This is my first baby and i was literally clueless to the worries and how much information you need to know.
This group has been so helpful and reassuring and everbody is so lovely 🥰 X

Nats7504 · 24/09/2021 10:41

@Scoaf I’m a born worrier too so you’re not alone! My OH is chilled and overly positive so we’re a nightmare combo 🤣🙈

Catconfusion · 24/09/2021 11:01

@scoaf It’s completely natural to worry. It’s such a big thing for your body to go through and there’s so many sad stories out there as well. I almost feel like I know too much about what can go wrong because we’ve had pregnancies that haven’t worked out. The good news is it’s highly unlikely for it not to work out once you’ve got through the 12 week scan and related tests. Once a pregnancy is well established, there’s not much that will stop it if the baby is healthy. Serious issues beyond 12 weeks are far more unlikely. It seems being healthy plays a big part and not having smoked and drank early in the pregnancy. Even age shouldn’t be a problem. If there’s not a chromosomal issue which is what they test for at 12 weeks, the baby will likely be ok. Even heart defects aren’t more common in older mums. I’ve read a lot of research as our higher nt worried me. I think the sad stories stick out more and the happy ones which is the majority of pregnancies get drowned out a bit. Xx

Scoaf · 24/09/2021 11:19

@Nats7504
Haha same with my OH.
He thinks im crazy. 🤣

Scoaf · 24/09/2021 11:22

@Catconfusion
Oh im sorry for your losses.
We too have had 2 previous losses. But as they were both before 12 weeks all the bad things i do know are all before where i am at now.
I think that is also why i worry so much.
But thankyou so much, youve really helped to reassure me.
I just hope i can relax at some point. X

Catconfusion · 24/09/2021 11:37

@Scoaf exactly, most of ours were before 5 weeks with one later one so in our experience 12 weeks is a real landmark. Glad I could help. It’s tough anyway, let alone after losses. Even logically knowing the chances are great post 12 weeks.

I know I won’t settle until our 20 week scan due to our increased nt measurement. Even though the screening midwife wasn’t concerned and deemed it normal, I can’t help but worry there’s a reason we’re on the 97th centile for fluid. I just trying not to worry about it. Everything else is great. Xx

bubblybrit · 24/09/2021 12:45

Yes all good thank you @els96. Nausea is starting to subside but I’m still so exhausted!

bubblybrit · 24/09/2021 12:47

Thanks @Dyra. Can’t believe I need to wait until 20 weeks to see the little one again!

Hayesdays · 24/09/2021 12:55

@bubblepond have you had your scan yet? Had mine this morning 🥰 all looking good but we are still measuring a week behind for EDD so we need to go back next week to do the checks when baby is a bit bigger. We didn’t get a great image because of C-section scar but we could make it out wriggling away which was lovely to see! Looking forward to next week now… such a relief to just see it looking like an actual baby!

Ania89 · 24/09/2021 14:45

Hi ladies, how are you doing today ? My scan is not until Tuesday but I am extremely nervous already. I had a big argument with my hubby yesterday, pretty much over nothing and told off our neighbour for rubbish parking on the pavement outside our home. I feel so bad now. I used to be really calm and relaxed person and now I feel like a monster. I feel like anything can trigger me. Is this normal ? Are you experiencing anything similar? I do worry that I’ve harmed the baby by arguing with hubby yesterday :( it is my first pregnancy after almost 8 years of trying so I am absolutely paranoid that sth will go wrong :(

bubblepond · 24/09/2021 18:01

@Hayesdays ah glad all went well! Nice that you will get to see baby next week too and hopefully the checks can all be done then!

I had my scan this morning, we have a very active little baby! It was amazing to see and like you said such a relief. NT measuring 1.4mm, baby measuring 12 weeks 6 days so due date now 2nd April 2022 ☺️

bubblepond · 24/09/2021 18:02

Nuchal fold not NT!

Hayesdays · 24/09/2021 18:21

@bubblepond that’s great news congratulations! Yes I’m secretly pleased I get to have another scan next week!

@Ania89 I think it’s completely normal to feel anxious. Sorry to hear you had a fight with your husband. Blame it on the hormones, it’s what I do! I’m pretty sure you won’t have harmed the baby. But if you’re ever in any doubt always speak to your midwife

bubblybrit · 24/09/2021 19:42

Really pleased all went well at your scan @Hayesdays!

bubblybrit · 24/09/2021 19:44

@bubblepond. Brilliant....I love seeing the little one wriggling about!

Hayesdays · 24/09/2021 19:44

Thanks @bubblybrit ❤️

SaraKitty · 24/09/2021 19:54

Just catching up on the thread @Hayesdays I’ve been wondering why my scans have been so blurry when in both my last two pregnancies they were a lot clearer around now . It must be the c section scar !

Hayesdays · 24/09/2021 20:28

@SaraKitty I didn’t realise it would affect the scan. The sonographer said it’s all the different layers of scar tissue. She said the 20 week scan should be better as they will be above all the scar tissue so looking forward to that ❤️

SaraKitty · 24/09/2021 20:30

Totally makes sense now , I was blaming dodgy equipment 😆

Scoaf · 25/09/2021 07:51

@Catconfusion.
Yes i know ite hard but try not to worry and i guess no news is good news.
I guess the worry never ends as once they are here we will worry even more 🤣
What a crazy ride this is.
We are telling some close friends this weekend and its making me feel excited now. Its not really felt real up to now. X

Scoaf · 25/09/2021 07:53

Congratulations to everyone who has had their scans the last few days. X

Catconfusion · 25/09/2021 08:56

I’m wondering now if my c section scar is why my scan picture wasn’t great. My cheeky sonographer wrote on my report that my increased bmi was the reason for reduced visibility. Even though my bmi isn’t much above normal and my midwife said it was great.

Congratulations to those of you who’ve got through the 12 week scan. I found it totally nerve wracking so it’s lovely to be out the other side. Xx

Catconfusion · 25/09/2021 08:58

I just wondered has anyone started to guess what the sex is? I know nub theory and skull theory aren’t exact sciences but I’ve found it fun to theorise about it. We don’t mind either way but I have such a strong feeling it’s a girl. Xx

bubblybrit · 25/09/2021 13:32

@Catconfusion. DH and I found out as part of the harmony test....we are team pink 💗!

Is anyone else planning to find out? I was in two minds but we have so much stuff (mostly dresses and outfits/toys that are geared towards girls) that I kept from DD that it made sense to find out so we knew whether to start clearing out or keep everything for new baby 😀!
