A big nose snort @feliznavidad2 brilliant! And I think your scan was positive, don't forget I went for my 6 week scan and it was dated much less like you with no embryo. 2 days later there was an embryo with a heartbeat. 2 weeks is an awful long time 😕

@Lexber yeah tbh you sound more fun off buying camper vans and stuff!! Brilliant

Thanks @Haiyaa I won't make my own then 😂

DKDK123 · 12/11/2021 14:46

@feliznavidad2 they won't scan in our epu before 6 weeks I'm guessing probably due to it being so difficult to call for definite either way that early on. I know it'll be a difficult 2 weeks for you but try to hold onto the fact they did see a sac just as it should be and if you get no further bleeding the next 2 weeks then stay positive that the scan was just too early. If you're finding the 2 weeks too hard to wait you could book a private scan for when you're 7 weeks it should be easier for them to see by then and might give you the reasurrnance you need. Big hugs

bez91 · 12/11/2021 18:10

@feliznavidad2 sending hugs. 2 weeks is so so hard and feels like a year when you're waiting. I've been there a few times and it's not nice but like the hospital and @Minster2012 said things can go from nothing visible a couple of millimetres smaller to being able to see a heartbeat just a couple of days later. Try and remain positive, I know it's hard.

Hope you ladies are all good? Hope you and Molly got home @Justanothercyster

I'm on the lookout for pregnancy workouts, anyone have any recommendations? I should bite the bullet and try some Youtube ones but recommendations are always good! I've not been to the gym for 14 weeks. I usually do a lot of resistance, weights with a bit of cardio but mindful what I should and shouldn't do. Have resistance bands at home etc 🤔

lucyrp · 12/11/2021 19:09

@bez91 I was told carry on with anything you're already doing as normal but don't start anything strenuous that's new!

Kate105 · 12/11/2021 21:54

That must be a bit stressful @feliznavidad2 but it's definitely not time to worry yet! When I had my early scan they told me that their measurements could be out by 5 days either way because it's all still so tiny. A day or two can make all the difference xxx

Kate105 · 12/11/2021 21:55

Also lol @bez91 no recommendations from me I enjoyed relaxing through my pregnancy 😂 any excuse not to exercise!

feliznavidad2 · 12/11/2021 21:57

You're a good bunch @Kate105 @bez91 @DKDK123 @Minster2012

  • thanks all, feeling a bit better now, just need to keep up this positivity until the 26th.
Gem176 · 13/11/2021 02:03

I've fallen so far behind already!!

@Justanothercyster CONGRATULATIONS 🥳 and welcome to the works wee Molly 👶🏻💖 hope you are doing ok after such a rough week and a c section. Rest, rest, rest and then rest some more!
P.s hope you got the giant comfy pants, I'm still reluctant to part with mine 😂

@feliznavidad2 early scans can be really far out date wise, I had one at 9 weeks and they put me 5 days behind where I thought I was, at my 12 week scan (12+0 based on 9 week scan date) I was actually 12+6. Two weeks is such a long time but the fact that everything is where it should be is a positive.

@Minster2012 a nappy spreadsheet?! Did I actually just read that?! In a very odd way that may be one of the most PFB things I've ever heard of 🤣🤣 I don't think I could do it, we attempted to note feed&change times in the early days to keep us right... we failed spectacularly within hours as we both kept forgetting then inevitably asking "when did she last have a bottle?" cue lots of ehhhhh's 🙈

@bez91 I genuinely thought pregnancy workouts were getting out of bed, getting up off the sofa and tying your shoelaces.... felt like a hell of a workout some days 😅

Florence13 · 13/11/2021 07:00

@Minster2012 sorry I’m late but so chuffed your scan went well look at your gorgeous little baby!! Cannot express how happy I am for you.

@feliznavidad2 so sorry you have got to wait two weeks but as others have said it all sounds positive and early scans can be so hit and miss.

@Lexber I really probably should have been more organised for maternity leave and saving but we were trying to finish renovating the upstairs of our house so don’t really have the savings I had hoped for!

@Justanothercyster I hope you and baby are at home recovering well.

Florence13 · 13/11/2021 07:01

@bez91 the only things I’ve managed consistently exercise wise are walking the dogs and just pregnancy yoga videos from YouTube to be honest.

Minster2012 · 13/11/2021 07:33

@bez91 I think yoga & Pilates would be ok

Obviously I've done f all since I found out & got told to do nothing 😂😂

@Gem176 yep a spreadsheet!! When was a baby someone gave me a really helpful thing which was one of these card things where you noted the last feed, it worked for a bit

@Florence13 thank you darling

Lexber · 13/11/2021 08:28

@Minster2012 as fun a buying a camper was we are making the heartbreaking decision to sell it I think, one baby would have been fine but 2 means we need a new car and not enough seats in the van so we are selling his car, my car and the van to get a decent 7 seater 😬

@feliznavidad2 2 weeks is. Along time but stay positives the others have said it's so early and a day or so can make such a difference. We are here holding your hand and have had so many positive outcomes we will be adding your name to that list! ❤️

@bez91 I used to work in a gym (nearly a qualified PT)
I would highly recommend asking advice there. Ask for a PT who has qualifications in postnatal and prenatal training as not all PTs have as it is specialised and I am sure they would happily offer you some free advice! My suggestion would be to continue with what you previously did but reduce weights and speeds accordingly and take it easier, drink plenty and rest more than you would. Take shorter training sessions. If you attend any classes advise the instructor before the class starts to allow them to give you safer adaptations and allow the to monitor you from a distance, it also gives them the opportunity to advise against a class if they think it unsuitable. Swimming is always a good option when pregnant- I think I might start swimming as I get bigger just for the weight relief cos I'm gonna be HUGE 🤣🤣

@Florence13 it sounds like you had enough on your plate, I only saved as I did as I have 2 expensive kids already (14/11) one with ASD so it was useful to know I have that back up if needed. Altho I have prewarned them both that when the babies come and I'm
On maternity we will have less spare cash to waste on crap (ie eating out every week/take always and random trips to costa at £20 a go) to which my ASD 11 year old declared we are broke 🤣🤣😀 I was like no we aren't broke and we will be fine but just less wasted money but nope she is adamant the twins have made us broke 🤣 but I'm not arguing she will ask for less crap hopefully and save me a fortune...

Minster2012 · 13/11/2021 08:38

Awww @Lexber quick get out in the camper whilst you can for winter breaks! But yeah a bus for you guys I guess. I've said that to ppl we know who have 3 kids, it's that step to the 4th where it's like hmmmmm we need a new car! Maybe you could suggest to your children a smaller Xmas list this year too?

bez91 · 13/11/2021 09:52

Thanks folks, yoga seems good! I did a yoga class when I was pregnant with DD but the woman was a bit too spiritual for me and we did some weird things so I didn't go for long 😆
@Lexber definitely going to start swimming! I'll keep at eye out, I'm at QP gym and the stereotypical member of staff in the gym is male and over 55 so I'm not sure on their prenatal training expertise 😉 how are you doing on the sickness?
Randomly, I had nausea for 10 weeks then it stopped for a while. This morning 14 weeks exactly I've spent all morning over the loo 🤢

Gem176 · 13/11/2021 13:28

@Minster2012 that would have been great in the early days but now I can tell what time it is without looking at the clock! This girl likes routine 🤣 can't really laugh too much at the spreadsheet in terms of PFB as OH stood with the pram as any normal person would (hands on handle, facing baby) but proceeded to reverse down our driveway several times as it's steep and he didn't want Katie to feel like she was upside down 🤣 no idea why he didn't walk forward and just tilt the pram up on its back wheels! He also floated the idea of no baths as she cried when we took her out and tried her formula to see if it was actually nice tasting for her... maybe I'm just lax at parenting but genuinely don't think I did anything like that with M.... well apart from accosting a doctor and demanding to know where he was taking my baby.... it wasn't my baby 😳 in my defence they did look similar.... how was I to know that one was a boy 😂

I did sweet FA exercise while pregnant (and since 🙈) although I'm thinking Pilates and swimming might be a great idea to combat this jiggly stomach I now have. Thankfully both are available close to me 🙌🏻
Hoping it will eventually firm up like it did last time when everything has properly healed.

@bez91 hope the sickness eases off for you again soon. It must be awful 😞

Minster2012 · 14/11/2021 08:34

Routine is great @Gem176 and loving that with the pram for OH!! Aren't men silly 🙄hand you finished all the work on the house?

@bez91 oh no that's not good how you feeling today?

Any sign of baby @Florence13?

Florence13 · 14/11/2021 08:44

@Minster2012 nope no signs at all a week over due and it’s clearly incredibly happy in there 😂 keep waddling around walking the dogs and things.

bez91 · 14/11/2021 09:35

@Florence13 as long as baby is happy in there 😊 do you any plans for sweeps etc or just letting nature take its course?

@Minster2012 I feel much better thankyou after yesterday morning. I also wondered if it was a bug as on the way to see MIL DD was sick in the car 🤦🏼‍♀️ she does seem to have started with travel sickness though this last couple of months and she was fine and moaning we were taking ages to clean up the abomination that was the back of the car so I think it was definitely morning sickness for me. Headaches are killing me though, how you feeling?

Florence13 · 15/11/2021 05:26

@bez91 yes baby seems very happy in there, I think I’ll have a sweep on Wednesday if baby hasn’t appeared as that is my last midwife appointment before my induction. Fingers crossed little one decides to make an appearance shortly as the insomnia is starting to kill me 🙈

Minster2012 · 15/11/2021 09:09

@bez91 I'm getting headaches too, not good, but they do seem to go off a bit with the paracetamol to manageable. It may be a bug then, there's a lot of it around here atm

Come on baby @Florence13 😊😊🙌🏻

whatwonder · 15/11/2021 16:22

took another MN break and have missed loads again!

first off HOORRRAYYYY AND CONGRATS @Minster2012 !!!! :) :) such great news! So happy the scan went well, such wonderful photos (that look like an actual baby, not a chicken!) and I'm sure a huge sense of relief as well.

And huge congrats on the arrival of your baby girl @Justanothercyster ! How are you both doing?

@feliznavidad2 repeating what the others have all said, the scan does seem like a positive step although totally understand why it would cause anxiety. Here for you as you wait for the next scan!

bez91 · 15/11/2021 18:27

@Florence13 hoping things kick off before Wednesday for you!

@feliznavidad2 how are you doing?

@Minster2012 snap on the headaches! Manageable but annoying, trying to mega up my water intake which is hard when on some days I travel all day and access to a loo can be difficult 😆

Definitely not a bug, think it was just one off sickness. @whatwonder that's similar to me, the nausea tailed off for a bit between 10-12 weeks now is back in full force at 14 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ great news on the scan that's fab. We're yet to hear the heartbeat just see, that's really special 🥰

Most people who need to know do now. Told my old manager at work today and now it can just spread like it will do. She did say "hmmm I did wonder but you know when you don't want to ask just incase it's not that" 😂 so people are obviously thinking I've been eating too many treats

becarefuloutthere · 15/11/2021 19:38

@whatwonder same thing happened to me too with the sickness! Was sick at my 12 week scan, couldn't believe it! I'd say 11-13 weeks were my sickest. Earlier ones was just nausea, no sickness so you're not alone with that one. I'm glad you got to hear the heartbeat and scan went well! Do you think you'll find out the sex?

@bez91 haha that's funny! At least ppl aren't just thinking you've put on a few lbs now 😄

Minster2012 · 15/11/2021 19:44

@whatwonder that's excellent news about the scan, sorry you are feeling rubbish again. I keep thinking "it's an actual baby not an alien" 😂😂

@bez91 god I've drank so much today but I have been at home so it's been easier, I def think I am eating too many treats 😂

2020mission · 15/11/2021 20:46

@bez91 I got some awful headaches at the end of first trimester/start of second. Took all my willpower not to pop all the pain killers 😅 but suddenly it just stopped after a few weeks so it should pass for you. It didn't seem like anything was causing as I was drinking plenty of water at the time and changed nothing when they eased. All hormones!

Looking forward to hearing when everyone starts feeling movements now you're in the second trimester. I think I started feeling them at 17/18 weeks but I have a posterior placenta so likely felt it earlier because of no barrier at the front. It's now a lot more uncomfortable rather than cute kicks though 😆 usually into the ribs.

All of my exercise in pregnancy has just been yoga and brisk walking really. Was always too worried to do anything too intense.
