@Lexber ugh I know those waits in hospital can end up quite long I always end up hungry too 😆 glad they are checking you over, definitely good for peace of mind!

@bez91 I was the same didn't enjoy telling work colleagues etc because I never felt confident in the pregnancy sticking after the 2 previous losses. It is better a little bit after though as you can relax and don't need to worry about telling once everyone who needs to know does! I'm not sure what the shiny belly indicates but I assume something related to the polyhydramnios I have? Possibly a sign of the uterus being overstretched with the fluid increasing.

2020mission · 11/11/2021 11:44

@becarefuloutthere been waiting since last week. It's pretty late on to be doing the GTT (I'm 33 weeks today) but they need to rule it out as a possible cause of the increase in amniotic fluid. I'm kind of glad this didn't happen earlier as I feel like there's not too long left to worry at least 😅 thanks for letting me know about the iron - noted!

feliznavidad2 · 11/11/2021 12:37

Got an appointment at EPU at half 1, thanks ladies. @Lexber @becarefuloutthere

Hope you're ok @Lexber and they feed you shortly fingers crossed x

Lexber · 11/11/2021 13:08

All good 2nd dr agrees it's low blood pressure which is common in pregnancy but even more so in multiple as more pressure on my body so rest rest rest.

Had a good feel at babies and more than happy they're all good in there, stomach is nice and soft ❤️ so my soreness is bruising from the fall.

Happy to let me home and rest, if anything gets worse or pain or bleeding call right back without a second thought. Both drs were absolutely lovely and can't fault either of them.

I have to monitor and if it keeps happening will have to have tests to see why it keeps happening, hopefully it was just a warning from my body to remind me I need to take it easy a little bit more.

Lexber · 11/11/2021 13:12

Oh and my drs happens to be near a maccys drive through so obviously called there on the way back 🤣🤣 I ended up having my HR meeting 45 mins late while eating 🍟 fries haha and even better news they're renewing the maternity policy from 2 years to 1 yr service for enhanced maternity pay as I will miss out by 5 weeks and they don't think it's fair as I plan to return 👍🏼 so I'm absolutely chuffed as I've gone from expecting 90% pay for 6 weeks then SMP for 33wk to now getting 6 week paid full, 12 week half pay, and only 21 weeks on SMP 🥳

@feliznavidad2 gentle hand hold, how you feeling? Xxx

Minster2012 · 11/11/2021 14:08

It's your turn to take it easy now @Lexber 😘

@becarefuloutthere there's a second trimester peppiness? Amazing!!

@bez91 what did they say?! It's because it makes it real and saying it out loud is scary 😬

@feliznavidad2 yes how are you?? Any more blood?

So sorry ladies I didn't update this thread!! All is great!! Can't believe it 🌈💕🎉

Little thing is happy as can be in there, wriggling away!! Measuring 2 days ahead so 12+4, EDD 22/5/22 which is day after FIL birthday

I was already in tears when I walked in let alone when she quickly went "and hello baby here we are"
Beck measuring 1.3/1.4 which they said was in normal range and then hope you not hear back in 7/10 days or it's bad news if we hear then

Thank you so much ladies. Still shit scared & DH still wants to head in the sand and not tell DS or out friends at the weekend. But I've said I won't lie if asked

So chuffed for you @Minster2012 and after the first trimester your risks of miscarriage are so low now you really deserve to enjoy this pregnancy more and relax a little if you can! It will be even better after the 20 week scan and when you start feeling baby move around 💕 you so deserve it

My GTT appointment letter arrived it's at 8am and it's when I'm 36 weeks! Surely that's pointless testing me so close to full term (37 weeks)?? Not looking forward to it. I'm also concerned if I was diabetic that I'm just waiting weeks with nothing being done. You'd think they'd recommend some diet changes now as a precaution?

@Lexber my maternity pay is the same as yours. I'm still dreading it as 6 weeks of full pay will fly by 😅 need to budget!

Haiyaa · 11/11/2021 16:02

Massive congratulations @Justanothercyster, sorry it was a bit of an ordeal but hope you are recovering nicely now. Such a shame they didn’t just do the section in the first place. My DD was exactly the same (huge, wedged in, needed forceps in section to extract), but luckily I was an elective anyway, the dr said she would always have been a section which was nice in a way. But at least I was fresh for my section, you must have been exhausted you poor thing. I advise some peppermint tea as my wound wasn’t too bad but the wind is horrific. Also they gave me a tubigrip to wear around my tummy which really helped with the “I feel like my insides are going to fall out” situation. Lastly try to be as upright as possible when walking and fold a little towel, hold the edges and pull it against your tummy. Really helps with moving. Hopefully they’ve shown you how to get out of bed properly but if you need any tips let me know. ❤️ lovely name by the way 🥰

Already said on other thread but amazing amazing news @Minster2012! I’m going to place my bet now and say that looks like a little girly to me.

becarefuloutthere · 11/11/2021 16:12

@2020mission ah I see! Very late in the day yeah. I guess just avoid added sugar where you can. Fizzy drinks and chocolate etc.
@feliznavidad2 hope the apt went well?! X
@Lexber I'm glad all is ok and you were well looked after!
Great mat pay outcome! Mines 90% for 6 weeks and then smp, thank god I've got savings is all I keep telling myself! 🙏🏾
@Minster2012 apparently so 😂 I'm yet to see it tho...aww look at the little baby ♥️ beyond thrilled for you hun! X

feliznavidad2 · 11/11/2021 16:26

Thanks you lovely lot @Minster2012 @Lexber @becarefuloutthere

No scan today as they'd ran out of slots but they checked HCG level which was 7500 and cervix is closed but got some ectropion on cervix. Scan booked for tomorrow morning. 🤞🏻

Lexber · 11/11/2021 16:59

@2020mission because we planned this baby (BABIES! Don't think I will get used to that!) I have been saving to top up my maternity pay £400 a month and OH was going to increase his percentage into the bills pot to cover us, so it's a relief to know it will stretch further!
But I had planned financially to cope on SMP (you can't tell I'm an accountant🤣)

Minster2012 · 11/11/2021 17:19

@Lexber that's excellent news then, better than excoriated is brilliant!

Btw my accountant cousin (male) who's wife had a baby has kept a nappy spreadsheet!! 😂🤣😅how many nappies per day since birth. Honestly please don't do that for the BABIESSSSSS

@feliznavidad2 that's positive news for today then & can find out the proper good news tomorrow then 🤞🏻

@2020mission that makes NO sense?! Thank you so much, I will get another scan to find out the gender but I've just realised DH is away the week when it would be damn it

@Haiyaa thank you so much, and btw as a pharmacist how is Sudafed?? The blocked nose one has been with me basically daily but just realised it says ask a doctor if pregnant!

There's lots of bets on a little girl, which would be amazing as all our family & kids are boys but I don't care it's a baby!!!

Haiyaa · 11/11/2021 19:30

@Minster2012 the nasal spray or the tablets? Spray not likely to enter blood stream in large amounts unless it contains pseudoephedrine/ephedrine (in which case avoid), but tablets are best avoided as they can restrict blood flow to the baby.

I would stick to saline spray/rinses even though it’s an absolute pain in the arse. My sinuses were awful and full of mucus with DD but I kept to that.

In any case decongestant sprays shouldn’t be used for more than 7-10 days anyway as they cause rebound congestion if used continuously.

bez91 · 11/11/2021 19:44

@becarefuloutthere I think you're right it's having to say it out loud! I'm 13+5 today! Ahh have you found out gender or is it a surprise?

@2020mission thankyou 😊 yes work know before most of the family 🙈 ahh I suppose that makes sense ie going more transparent 😆 hope your tummy remains un-shiny!

@Lexber glad everything was ok! Take it easy 😊 great news on the pay that definitely eases a bit of stress. SMP isn't fun, I'm lucky this time round my employer has really good benefits.

@Minster2012 my boss was great, he's a bloke and I think he heard from someone else about all the MCs (I'd shared with our director who is his boss so think she told him) so he was really chuffed in a blokey kind of way 😆 He's retiring though so not really his problem to sort anything. Told the director too and she was fab! Just got to tell everyone else now.
Congratulations to you again, I've said it about 1000 times today but you deserve every bit of happiness! Your accountant friend 🤣🤣🤣 I mean I love a good spreadsheet but f*ckingjell fire

Oooh @Haiyaa you say @Minster2012 scan looks girly, is this based on that nub theory thing? I don't understand it and we don't want to find out but I find it quite interesting.

@feliznavidad2 that's good news, hope you're completely at ease tomorrow morning after the scan 😊

becarefuloutthere · 11/11/2021 19:49

@feliznavidad2 not long to wait then. All signs looking good though!
@bez91 yeah we know, a lil girl 👧🏽I'm glad you get decent Mat pay, it's a joke at my place considering women outweigh the men too! Ah well. Dh is in sales so he does well most months with commission and bonuses once a quarter so we should be ok 🙏🏾

Minster2012 · 11/11/2021 20:12

@Haiyaa the spray, but I shall try and steer clear then as used it a fair bit the last week, thank you xx

I know what you mean about the blokey kind of way @bez91 that's awesome though 🙌🏻, ive obviously told my boss, his first comment was "can we shag again now?" (We have a few times over the past few weeks I'm not gonna lie!) And I don't need to worry bout the maternity thank god 😂. I nearly spat my food out when he said about the spreadsheet 😂🤣honestly wtf!

I find it interesting on the nub theory too! Though the nurse said at one point it was legs crossed so I don't know if that's for the pictures or not & that's why ppl are saying girl!!

Lexber · 11/11/2021 20:35

@Minster2012 I'm a cool accountant 🤣🤣 I don't think I'd be able to keep count of nappies after a week 😬 it's going to be an expensive hobby 🤣🤣

We've had nub guesses on our scans and had a boy and girl..

Kate105 · 12/11/2021 02:30

Ahhhhhhh congratulations @Minster2012 I'm so pleased for you what lovely news 🥰🥰🥰

Minster2012 · 12/11/2021 07:12

Thank you so much @Kate105

A cool accountant @Lexber 😂I shall see what our other accountant friend has to say on Sunday, this chap has a spreadsheet for ALL their coatings. Always has. And it's his first child due December but DH & I remember him commenting about worrying putting money aside for children & then private education YEARS ago. We were like errrrrrrrrrrrr la la la!

Minster2012 · 12/11/2021 07:17

Another bunged up night, @Haiyaa saline sprays is that something I make or buy? I can't breathe 😂😂

Lexber · 12/11/2021 08:11

Hahah @Minster2012 I'm the type of accountant that no one believes I'm
An accountant because I'm so chilled and "fun" 🤣🤣🤣

I'm good with money but more in a bargain Hunter kind of way and plan ahead ie maternity leave knowing the impact on a reduced full time salary but otherwise I'm a nightmare for "oooh let's do it..." and buying tickets and campervans because I had an idea 🤣🤣🤣🤣

feliznavidad2 · 12/11/2021 09:37

So it showed a gestational sac and a yolk sac but no embryo... and dated me as in the early part of 5 weeks rather than late (which I should be). But they did say is the difference of mm in the beginning and everything is where it should be. Rescan in 2 weeks (which is blatantly going to be very long.) 😫 😫 Just a bit disconcerting, but they said to be positive as it looks as it should, just slightly earlier...

Haiyaa · 12/11/2021 12:31

Oh no @Minster2012! It sucks but hopefully some of it is from the use of decongestant sprays so should settle.

I usually use the Sterimar Spray or NeilMed Neti Pot with sinus sachets - if you try and make the saline yourself and don’t get it right it will burn like a motherf**r!

Haiyaa · 12/11/2021 12:33

That sounds pretty positive @feliznavidad2 although the wait must be hard. They’re right, the measurements vary wildly at that time so a mm here or there makes a huge difference. Try to take it easy, will be thinking positive thoughts for you.

feliznavidad2 · 12/11/2021 13:49

Thanks @Haiyaa

Sinusitis is horrible @Minster2012 - sending a hug, and a big nose snort x
