@thinkingandblinking congratulations on your baby boy! 👶 💙 Hope you're both doing well.
@Minster2012 2am-4.30am has been my wide awake time every day since I was about 6weeks 😴 I've tried going to bed later in the hope I sleep thru it but not luck. Don't know why my body has chosen those hours as I just fall asleep again at 4.30 for my alarm to go off at 6 or DS bounding I'm at 5.30 if he's awake. Must be a pregnancy thing as I remember similar night waking patterns with DS.
Sending a massive hand hold from the minute you get up today. What time is your scan at? Hoping its a morning one so you don't have to wait so long.
Loving the gas and air stories, making me giggle and jealous that I won't be allowed to try some 😂
On the Downs Screening chat, it doesn't phase me. I said they could do the measurements at the scan to see the liklihood but that's it. They asked if it was high would I like the next stage tests and I said to the midwife no, my baby could have 5 heads, 3 toes and come out green as long as its breathing that's fine with me 😂 Tho it probably phases me a lot less due to working in ASN, the fact they have a tendency to develop more health problems in life would worry me but then you're worried when any child develops health problems but you face every curve ball life throws at you as it comes. But children with down syndrome are just amazing, fiesty and stubborn but so loving, determined and funny. So try not to have too much fear if your reading comes back high. Part of me actually thinks it's the fact the NHS test for it that gives a lot of mums the fear as its like well they wouldn't test for it if it wasn't something bad if you get what I mean. And the fact that they ask (not that I'm judging anyone's individual decision) if it came back positive for down syndrome would you want to continue with the pregnancy. I think it makes it sound like having a child with down syndrome is the end of the world. I just find it bizarre that there are loads of disabilities out there and it's one of the few they test for and make a big deal of and ask if you want to continue or not, but your child could have any other number of disabilities and that's fine to go ahead with because you don't know. I dunno the screening all seems a bit outdated to me but that might just be my thinking 🤷♀️
@Lexber look after yourself Mrs! At least you know now you may be prone to fainting from overheating so can avoid places that are too hot. Lucky there was someone there to help catch you.
@justanothercyster amazing news! Welcome to the world Molly 🥰 Sorry it wasnt a smooth journey into the world but so happy she's here and you're both well. Now use one of the perks of a c section and once you get home have your OH run about after you fetching things and chauffeuring you everywhere since you can't drive. Might as well enjoy one of the few perks 😉 Hoping you can get home soon and enjoy life with your precious daughter 💖
