Yes do @Minster2012! I didn't take any at 12 weeks and regret it now. Where can you watch the Emma Willis maternity show? I think that's the only one I've not seen any of.

bez91 · 03/11/2021 16:48

Ooooh yes @Gem176 HVs and their lectures 🙄 we left DD on the driveway when she was a bit older. I did that all the time @Minster2012 She generally napped only when moving so I'd always park her up round the back of the house if she was asleep. They did the same at her nursery too and had these massive prams for them to sleep in which was great, the manager was Scandinavian and I think it's the norm there for getting the fresh air!

@2020mission what a lovely bump you have 😍 i think winter is a better time to be heavily pregnant, love an oversized comfy jumper! I don't think too much hiccups can be a thing. Maybe check at your next midwife appointment though

@lucyrp yes very similar size! I think being a second you do stretch quicker 😂 I had both Oxford AstraZeneca. Before they said not suitable for under 40s 🤦🏼‍♀️ so not sure what I'll do about a booster

Justanothercyster · 03/11/2021 16:49

Wtf is going on with this app!! Sorry about creepy Halloween mime, was my inspo for dh's birthday party in sept...

@2020mission I get hiccups at least 4 times a day, and that's not including at night 🙈 I was also worried at first but they said it's fine :)

@Gem176 ooh lovely thank you. I've got 10 pairs of granny pants from primark that are HUGE.

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 03/11/2021 17:09

@Justanothercyster that's hilarious!!! The Halloween thing that is! Your bump is super cute

@2020mission I'll take one tomorrow DS allowing & the emma Willis thing was on channel 5 I think? Or 5 star? My tv automatically recorded it as she did a few over the years, she trained as a health worker, they were really good

Minster2012 · 03/11/2021 17:11

And @bez91 our nursery did the napping in prams too until the other year when they said it wasn't allowed anymore which was really annoying as then DS dropped his second nap & became a nightmare in the evening as he slept on the way back in the car 😬😩

whatwonder · 03/11/2021 17:52

hi pals, hoping you don't mind I join you on this thread? conscious about posting too much about pregnancy stuff on the ttc thread.

loving all the bump pics! :)

@DKDK123 have you tried looking on resale apps like Depop? I buy loads of clothes from it, I imagine they'll have a bunch of maternity options on there as well.

@Minster2012 have you heard of pawpaw ointment? I use it when I have really chapped lips, could be useful for chapped nips as well

whatwonder · 03/11/2021 17:59

and huge congrats @Lexber ! twins!! how exciting :) :)

Justanothercyster · 03/11/2021 18:59

@whatwonder of course not! It's open to everyone :) how many weeks are you now?

OP posts:
2020mission · 03/11/2021 19:11

@Justanothercyster 😂 I saw that photo at first and thought wow she's changed. Thanks for reassuring me with the hiccups, I'll stop worrying. Your bump is looking a good size!

@bez91 my next appointment is tomorrow so I will be able to mention it although I'm not too worried now 🙂

@Minster2012 I'll see if that program is on the My5 app just incase but might be too late.

Speaking of vaccinations... is anyone still waiting on their flu jab?

becarefuloutthere · 03/11/2021 21:30

@2020mission I was offered it a couple of weeks ago but chickened out 🙈 I'm a bit worried about so many vaccines with whooping cough coming up and I've had both Covid jabs too. Probably worrying unnecessary but I've put it off for now. Might have right before third trimester or something. I'm 24 weeks now.

All your bump pics are gorgeous 🥰

@Lexber I said congrats on the other thread but as it's two it defo deserves two congratulations 🥳

Minster2012 · 03/11/2021 21:40

@whatwonder I literally saw the paw paw thing the other day actually so might get some. Mind you, could I just shove any old lip balm on my nips??? Might try a bit of blistex see if that helps!

@2020mission def look it's really good!

Omg I'm so thirsty tonight but don't want to drink too much cos I don't want to wee too much 😂😂

Gem176 · 03/11/2021 21:43

@2020mission hiccups All.The.Bloody.Time! I took a video of my bump moving with them. She now hiccups after every bottle 🤣 asked the consultant as it worried me but he said it was fine 🤷🏻‍♀️ one day OH "scared" the bump, the hiccups actually stopped and she rolled away 🙈

@Minster2012 there is an Australian one born, it's on W and I actually love it!! Oh is it the cybex cloud z you have? That's what we have, it lies flat and swivels round to the door so if that's what you have and lasts until 3 I'll be delighted!! We had a 3 hour slog home from the hospital and the midwives also said one quick stop would be fine as they said dragging out the journey wouldn't be much fun for me after my section and to just get home. Didn't know about the 4 weeks thing but that's good to know!

@bez91 I think it was some article about the Scandinavian model of outdoor napping that prompted me to do it with my oldest. I have all her pram suits so Katie will be lovely and cosy if I get a covered area to park the pram. Cant be bothered with HVs to be honest, one here has 5 kids herself and is wonderful but I got the children's nurse with no children.

@Justanothercyster big is good but they need to be form fitting too, support is essential. I've heard friends who had a VB say support was just as important for them too so not just for c sections.

@whatwonder great shout on the pawpaw, I love Lucas'

I don't have any 12 week bump pics either, they were very sporadic and most are in my undies so won't be sharing those 🤣

Minster2012 · 03/11/2021 22:02

@Gem176 we have a cozy n safe merlin, it doesn't lie exactly flat but lies in 3 diff positions (but he's front facing now) and yep he's nearly 110cm tall & still ok in it until baby comes he won't get a new seat in my car as I love the swivel 😂

@2020mission I've just done a Google & emma Willis is on W too but you can watch on sky and they are repeating a series atm it's called "emma Willis delivering babies" then there was "emma Willis delivering babies in 2020" seems like W is the place for babies!!

2020mission · 03/11/2021 22:21

@becarefuloutthere I think the flu one will be pretty useless this year anyway to be fair 😅 given people haven't been mixing for a lot of the last year so they won't have as much indication of what's been spreading. My whooping cough was 12 weeks ago now so feels like enough of a gap but I completely get why you aren't keen to have so many around the same time.

@Minster2012 ahh looks like it's only available on Virgin Media and Sky. I'm Freeview only unfortunately! I've been really thirsty almost all of this pregnancy. I'm actually addicted to sucking ice cubes right now 😬 I think it's the low iron possibly causing it, but I've got supplements from the doctor so not much else I can do about it. There's worse things to be addicted to right? 😆

Welcome @whatwonder 👋

Gem176 · 03/11/2021 23:38

@Minster2012 I'm taking a note of that because the swivel is my absolute favourite feature. No faffing around, best invention! After a section not having to stretch and reach was a life saver. Just left car seat on the swivel base and carried baby to and from car so I wasn't having to lift anything overly heavy 🙌🏻
Highly recommended lucas' pawpaw ointment if the blistex doesn't work 🤣 pawpawshop.co.uk/ l
red tubs of magic, even used it as a nappy rash remedy!!

Lexber · 04/11/2021 00:24

@lucyrp I have had both and they were Astra zenica a few months back (before preg) also had my flu jab 3 weeks ago I'm 35

Welcome @whatwonder

What lovely bumps ❤️❤️❤️

Not the best pic, but this was last week at 12 weeks... 🤣 I'm not the slimmest at the best of times 14/16 usually but it's hard! Now we know why...

OH is so excited to find out the sexes we have booked a private scan for 16+3 on 27th Nov it actually all feels real now!!
We have told both sets of parents the news and everyone is so happy after the initial shock subsided! My eldest didn't believe us and was adamant we were joking 🤣🤣🤣

Minster2012 · 04/11/2021 06:59

Ok yeah twins explains it @Lexber 😂😂

Damn that @2020mission

@Gem176 yes that's why I wanted it as I have weakness on my right side from my surgeries I could barely lift my friends car seats & babies over 4 weeks old anyway so I knew that wasn't an option for me but both DH & I love it & yeah he's had it since birth, to next year it will be so best £150 spent (especially when he was a RIGHT knob at 18 months last year & was kicking out in seat & had to be pushed in kicking & screaming DH could barely get him in his as it didn't face him)

Right I guess I need to do a bump shot as getting up now as DS ran downstairs & DH just left 😩

Minster2012 · 04/11/2021 07:16

Well there you go 11+2 doesn't do much to help the thinking it's all ok

@Gem176 pawpaw is fab, always use it as a lip balm. I thought it was quite difficult to get hold of in the UK now. Everytime DHs family who live in Oz send something across they send over some 🥰
I have my swivel car seat to my friend, we also had the Merlin @Minster2012 I washed it once though and it came out awful and bobbly in the wash ☹️

@Minster2012 all is ok 💕 your ligaments will be much tighter so take longer to stretch so don't read into that lady. You don't want to be a heffer at 12 weeks! A week today your scan right?

lucyrp · 04/11/2021 08:58

@bez91 yeah definitely and I don't think I had anything remotely bump looking until about 16 weeks with DS!

@Lexber I only ask because I know of 3 girls locally who all had the Pfizer jab and are al having twins ! I read something about a connection between the two which is probably a load of rubbish but thought it funny that there were 3 in such a small area ! 😂

Florence13 · 04/11/2021 09:10

@Minster2012 I wouldn’t worry I didn’t have a bump until 23 weeks and even then it was still very small.

@Lexber congratulations on the twins.

@Gem176 aww that picture of Katie is gorgeous makes me excited to finally have my little one in my arms.

@Justanothercyster how are you doing? How are you feeling about the birth?

Florence13 · 04/11/2021 09:11

@whatwonder welcome ☺️

Justanothercyster · 04/11/2021 09:54

@Minster2012 positivity all the way lovely 💕

@Florence13 feeling a lot better then last week :) no signs of baby budging so I'm thankful for the intervention! No excited for the whole long drawn out process and pain and tiredness, but ready to meet our little one.
How are you feeling? X

OP posts:
Florence13 · 04/11/2021 10:19

@Justanothercyster aww glad your feeling a lot better. Aww well hopefully your body is ready as your term so it might not be such a long drawn out process.
I’m good thank you also no signs of this one budging anytime soon 😂

2020mission · 04/11/2021 10:21

I had my 32 week midwife appointment today and apparently I'm measuring small so I've got get a scan tomorrow. They move quickly with these! Hopefully it's nothing to worry about 🤞

@Minster2012 perfectly normal to not have much showing before 12 weeks, especially in the morning. I only ever had any sign of a wee bump from late in the day and that was more like 12 weeks onwards.
