@Minster2012 we could, but that won't get me to the "good bit" 😂 takes a lot for me

Ahhh does he have bigger fingers than the midwife? @Justanothercyster 😂😂2 birds one stone

bez91 · 02/11/2021 06:22

@Minster2012 no we didn't. I made it clear under no I certain terms that DD will know first so we told her Sunday. She's only just turned 4 so don't think she fully understands but she's a little excited and keeps saying about herself "I'm have a baby" she's made it quite clear how pissed she'll be if it's a boy 🙈

Good point on @Justanothercyster DH, that could work! In fact more men should be midwives with their larger hands and fingers!

feliznavidad2 · 02/11/2021 06:26

@Justanothercyster My midwife last time had huge hands... 😮 She also managed to put the pessary in the wrong place during induction so my bits swelled up, but no benefit to my cervix.

She wasn't v popular with me.

That's lovely @bez91- I can't wait to tel DS if everything goes well for us. He'll be so excited.

Minster2012 · 02/11/2021 07:25

Ahhhh you've answered here about DD @bez91 that's lovely!! Girl it is then 😂she's having a baby whoop whoop!! So then his family when you get back?

Justanothercyster · 02/11/2021 08:04

@Minster2012 @bez91 @feliznavidad2 I did suggest it to dh but he said he "wasn't medically trained" 😂 tbf the fact that the midwives always check the heartbeat before and after they go in scares me enough to not bother!!

@bez91 oh gosh let's hope it's a girl then 😂😂

@Justanothercyster 5th November is fast approaching, I'm excited for you!! Have you tried a nice little spooning bonk. Towards the end that was the only way it was happening for us 😂 but I was doing my best to avoid labour before my section 🙈 didn't fancy another emergency one with these breech babies that I grow.

@bez91 eldest DD was 7 when we told her and she was adamant that she wanted a girl! God help us if we had gone home with a boy 😂

@2020mission I didn't prep anything for Katie arriving, had such bad anxiety that something was going to go wrong that her Moses basket only arrived the day after she was born and OH was building it that night when we got home from hospital. It hasn't done her any harm. Our house is still a working project, the plan was for it to all be finished by the time she arrived (big LOL) so we are still living on ground floor only. Babies needs are very basic.... food, nappies, clothes, somewhere safe to sleep and love. The rest isn't all that important and can be a total waste depending on baby. Wasted a fortune on DD1 who was a Velcro baby, never sat in her swing seat or slept in her cot and by the time she finally started sleeping in her beautifully decorated nursery I had to redecorate as she was 5 and purple and rainbows were much more her thing than Winnie the Pooh.
As for sex, it's not them going off us, I think it's just towards the end they finally realise how much pregnancy actually takes it out of us and don't want to pester us when we are already knackered, struggling to sleep and move etc. They probably also worry about hurting us (I complained a lot about sore back and hips) and baby.

@feliznavidad2 oh I bet she wasn't 🙈

Justanothercyster · 02/11/2021 17:12

@Gem176 not long indeed! There is a chance they'll say I can't come in due to staff shortages and I'm shitting myself hoping I can go in and get this baby out 🤞🏼
yes! That seems to be the only way, but I have yet to manage an orgasm which is an issue :( just hard to feel in the mood for it at the moment! Also, baby seems to like punching me in the fanny at the minute...
Bless you and your breeches!

Thanks everyone for talking some sense into me. I think it's been a combination of hormones, stress and disappointment from house hunting. I'm trying to focus on the positives of what we have just now. I'm forgetting my mum and dad had me when in a small flat and already had my brother (who was 5 years old) at the time. I can't remember anything before the house I lived in from age 2 😅 and they also bought a fixer upper. I'll keep looking though just incase anything else appears in the coming weeks.

@Justanothercyster ohh just a few days until your due date 😯. Hopefully you won't be waiting much longer. Can't wait to find out if it's a little boy or girl since you've kept it a surprise!

2020mission · 02/11/2021 18:05

Meant to ask... did you all get a home visit from a health worker between 32-34 weeks? I got a letter through saying someone will call soon to arrange a visit for 45-60 minutes. First I've heard about this! Maybe it's a Scotland only thing

Justanothercyster · 02/11/2021 19:02

@2020mission induction on Friday woop woop! Me too, I'm surprised how ive actually managed to wait to find out haha.
I had an apt with my health visitor, but we did ours via zoom, completely normal as they take over from the midwives after birth

@Justanothercyster what you doing fancy just letting him get a fist in to see if it helps?!! Can't believe you are so close!

@2020mission we are strong women and we overcome all challenges 🙌🏻

Minster2012 · 02/11/2021 19:54

Sooooo are really sore cracking red nipples a thing?? 😬

Lexber · 02/11/2021 20:43

Hey ladies!!

Sorry I've been AWOL I've been trying to keep up but so tired at minute. Actual sickness is easing, more good days than bad now but when I am
Sick it's violently and knocks me out from exhaustion. Nausea still there but I've kind of just gotten used to feeling shit now so it's a little better 🤣🤣 hoping the end is in sight...

Scan tomorrow 9.55 and starting to get anxious as hell!! I will be 12+4, and I'm already showing clearly now so you can imagine how many people have told me there's 2 in there (and there's twins in both sides of my family and OHs family...) throw in the fact we haven't had an early scan either I'm now firstly scared that everything is ok then if it is there more than one! 🤦🏽‍♀️

@Minster2012 ouch to sore nipples!!
@bez91 how's the break?
@Justanothercyster not long now, make sure you rest and enjoy some you time this week and before you know it you will have your beautiful bundle!!

Minster2012 · 03/11/2021 06:45

@Lexber good luck this morning, wonder if it is twins? 👶🏻👶🏼👀I think most ppl show a bit at that stage though!

Lexber · 03/11/2021 07:24

I've been showing for weeks 🤣🤣🤣 was in maternity jeans by 10 weeks! 🤣🤣

DKDK123 · 03/11/2021 08:12

Enjoy seeing your wee jellybean on screen today @lexber such a special time if its your first viewing 😁
I'm just about to order maternity trousers too and I'm only 10 weeks 🙈 I've definitely popped already, stood on the scales and I've only put on 1lb which is a relief but shape has definitely changed already my waistband is cutting into me keep having to open a sneaky button at work for relief. If you're only wanting one at the min I'm hoping there's only one in there but if there are twins then don't panic, you'll do great with 1, 2 or 10 (tho your bits may never recover again if 10 popped out) 😂

bez91 · 03/11/2021 08:28

Hope all is well today @Lexber glad sickness is easing slightly! The break is just what we needed although pretty exhausting with a 4 year old. I'm also showing big time, brought loads of maxi dresses with me and I just feel a heffer already 🙈 expect to be in there a while today it was so busy when we were there Friday!

@DKDK123 oooh glad I'm not the only one looking at maternity clothes at this early stage. I was about 16 weeks before I needed anything with DD, I've saved some things as maternity clothes are so overpriced. It's smart work trousers I'm on the search for!

DKDK123 · 03/11/2021 08:41

@bez91 It's work trousers I'm struggling to find. I remember from DS finding the over bump trousers a lot more comfy than underbump ones but struggling to find smart work ones. Can find lots of over bump leggings or lounge wear but not smart ones that will do for work (other than ones around £50 a pair 😲).

Gem176 · 03/11/2021 08:43

@2020mission also Scotland and got a similar letter (baby brain is in full swing so can't remember wording but definitely a letter from HV when pregnant) but no visit or further contact until Katie and I were discharged from midwives.

@Justanothercyster oh hell, everything crossed they are fully staffed on Friday and all weekend 🤞🏻 lots and lots of foreplay and get DH to position himself as if you were doing missionary while you stay in spoon position? Never got a punch to the fanny, instead I had my lungs head butted while my cervix were used as a dance floor 🙈 as I've said to @Minster2012 the 4th trimester is the only good one 🤣

@Minster2012 could the nipples be caused by dry skin? I have dry skin anyway but when I'm pregnant it becomes like sand paper and cracks if I don't keep on top of moisturising! Lansinoh (?) do a nipple balm that people rave about that might help as it's designed for chapped/cracked nipples?

Gem176 · 03/11/2021 08:44

@Lexber good luck with the scan today 😊

feliznavidad2 · 03/11/2021 09:00

Good luck today @Lexber x

Minster2012 · 03/11/2021 09:26

I'm not really showing (11+1) until the end of the night when I let of all hang out but I'm not feeling sick so I'm just eating (& prob eating too much) I've put on about 3kg so far so that's not good so I do need to watch it but you can't tell atm and I can still wear my skinny jeans if we go meet ppl I wear them. I don't think it's going to last past next week though as starting to get a bit round 😬

feliznavidad2 · 03/11/2021 09:33

Very impressed you're in skinny jeans still! @Minster2012

I'm a bit chunky anywayBlushand my bloat is insane. Hoping it's hormones and will settle... 😬

2020mission · 03/11/2021 09:36

I'm at 32 weeks and I've still only bought a few pairs of maternity leggings and tights. Everything else I've either rolled down below my bump or wore stretchy or loose tops, jumpers and dresses. Trying so hard not to spend money on maternity clothes 😅 but the next 2 months I may have to.

Good luck today @Lexber
