@Minster2012 I didnt even consult DH I just booked one. Yea they're a lot of money but for peace of mind (even if that peace only last 5mins) I think its worth it. Plus just tell him you're saving lots of money on ttc supplements or fertility treatments now so what's paying for another scan in the grand scheme of things.

Minster2012 · 29/10/2021 15:44

I know @DKDK123 it's just we are meant to be not spending money & I don't know if I want to go in my own
Had the pain persisted today I was just going to book one but it's ok today

bez91 · 29/10/2021 17:18

@DKDK123 definitely worth it for that small amount of time I'd agree 😊

I'd fully prepared myself for the worst today. Planned when I'd do everything, D&C etc. Baby was fine, wriggling around nicely 😭 all looked ok and saw the sonography, midwife and consultant who wants to scan me every 4 weeks due to the previous miscarriages. Very relieved, DH is very giddy and i want to slap him in the face 🙈 🌈 👶 🥰

2020mission · 29/10/2021 17:26

@Minster2012 I also had those cramps and stretching pains in the first 12 weeks. It's never going to be an easy pregnancy but keep positive and hopefully the 12 week scan will be here quickly and reassure you. Completely understand the worry 💕

I'm having a bit of a shit day we were outbid again on another house and we went 15% above home report value 😞 I think I've realised I'm going to be trapped here in the flat because my year of maternity leave is imminent and it will make it impossible to get a mortgage as my husband is self employed so my income is really important for our mortgage. We have such a good deposit too I'm just feeling defeated. Apparently the top bidders were a fair amount higher too and we were the 4th of 9 bids. Why are people throwing so much money at houses! I'm surprised anyone with that money aren't going for bigger properties as this one was decent but not substantial. Sorry for the rant.

Hopefully we'll have some new little arrivals here soon to lift the mood!

Minster2012 · 29/10/2021 20:34

@bez91 don't slap him!! It's ok for him to be excited but it's still ok for you to still be worried 😊

@2020mission oh god that's not good. 15% that's crazy crazy. Keep going, just keep going there's still time 🤞🏻🤞🏻 and thank you, only a dull ache today so I'm hoping it means the pain is there cos is something growing in there 😬

Justanothercyster · 29/10/2021 21:03

@Florence13 make the most of it :)

@Minster2012 aww some days are better than others with cramps, I remember freaking out when they were strong and then freaking out when I didn't have any, couldn't win! Just remember it's a good sign :)
No sign yet, but definitely getting there!

@becarefuloutthere much better today thanks :) I had a crappy week feeling sick and bad stomach etc, anxiety was through the roof and feeling very low, but it's like POOF and it's gone today. I feel so much better and ready to get the house sorted tomorrow 🤷🏼‍♀️ hormones! Hopefully I'll still feel that way in the morning 😂
How are you?

@bez91 awww glad everything went ok today! 💕

@2020mission Thats insane!! We were a bit naughty and just never told them we were expecting when we bought ours 🙈 but I wasn't showing then. Hope things start looking up for you soon 🤞🏼

@2020mission had someone round to fix the pump for our solar panels this morning and was chatting to him about buying houses. He said someone he did some work for had the house for sale for something like 300k and the first offer went in at 315 so above asking price and by the end of the day it sold for 390k. Absolutely ridiculous 😱

Florence13 · 29/10/2021 21:40

@bez91 aww so glad all went well with your scan hun.

@2020mission aww keep at it hun but yes house buying is crazy at the moment. Hope you get something soon!

@Justanothercyster glad your feeling better today hun.

@Minster2012 everything is so worrying at the start, but glad it has all settled today. When is your scan?

Minster2012 · 29/10/2021 23:01

@Florence13 thank you, my scan isn't until 11th Nov so 2 weeks yesterday 😔😬it feels like these weeks are going soooooo slow

@lucyrp def can't win either way, well I've just had a big Chinese tonight so if I get cramps I think it's from that now 😂that's really crazy on the house!!

@2020mission why is it naughty to not tell them when you were early? Surely you don't need to tell them for months!!

Minster2012 · 30/10/2021 08:36

@DKDK123 thinking of you today, good luck! 🤞🏻🌈

DKDK123 · 30/10/2021 09:21

@Minster2012 sorry just noticed your message here, I replied on the other one, scans not till next week a loooong week to wait 😣 My NHS one isn't till 13 weeks so having a private one at 11 to tide me over

Minster2012 · 30/10/2021 13:42

Allll my fault @DKDK123 I just didn't want to miss it!!

becarefuloutthere · 30/10/2021 15:45

@Florence13 good to hear! Yeah I'm good too thanks 😊 sat getting a pedicure at mo. Not had one since June so it's a nice treat!
@bez91 aw so glad all went well! What a relief! X
@2020mission aw so sorry to hear about the house! 😣 hope it just means the dream one is around the corner 🤞🏾
@Justanothercyster do you still feel good today? DH built the cot today, his little face once he'd done it, so cute ☺️ he also built a shoe rack but it doesn't fit in the cupboard so it's gone in my wardrobe now 😂 I'm ok thanks 😊 just enjoying a solo pedicure, was meant to be with my mum n sister but they didn't want to wait for space so went to the other one around the corner 😆
@Minster2012 i can imagine it feels yonks away, but it'll speed up from next week, promise 😘
@DKDK123 one more week to go, you can do it! 💪

2020mission · 30/10/2021 16:01

Thanks all for the encouraging house messages. I had a bit of a down day yesterday and had a cry... just feeling so guilty having the little guy and not having a home for him. The flat is so small 😞 I really thought this year I could have got one. I just don't believe I can get a mortgage next year when on maternity leave realistically I think I'm going to have to go back to work early if I want to be able to get out which is a shame as I would have liked at least 9 months with baby.

@becarefuloutthere glad to hear you've got the cot built! I haven't even bought a crib or cot as I was holding off hoping I could move before buying them. I'm so far behind on preparation for everything!

@Minster2012 @DKDK123 it will be so good when you've had your scans counting the days for you both!

Justanothercyster · 30/10/2021 18:00

@becarefuloutthere sort of lol, mood wise I'm a lot better but belly wise it's still bad 🤢💩
Oh well a pedicure sounds nice though! It's fun watching them get excited about building baby stuff 🥰

@2020mission there's never a right time, and just think that that little bub is going to be so loved! There's honestly people who don't have anywhere for them to live :( you're doing your best and I'm sure you'll make your flat all lovely and cosy and homely for little one 💕

Ok, how the FRIG did you guys have sex in the last week?? We're trying everything to get labour going and it's just a logistical nightmare, tried EVERY. DAMN. POSITION.

OP posts:
lucyrp · 30/10/2021 21:24

@Justanothercyster it's not comfortable at all il give you that, not for the first few minutes anyway. We always used to end up laughing and then it would get better. If you're tense it reallt doesn't work. Doggy was one of the best and actually normal missionary worked out okay just making sure OH wasn't actually on top of me 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

2020mission · 30/10/2021 23:55

@Justanothercyster thanks for the kind words 💕 hopefully I will snap out of this soon just feeling like I'm failing as a mum already with not being prepared for him! I think I just need to try and forget about houses and focus on getting everything sorted here. I'm not surprised you're struggling with sex at such a late stage... to be honest my husband and me used to do it at least weekly through pregnancy but I've realised we haven't in about 3 weeks now. I think he's probably been put off as I'm getting bigger. I'm not that fussed as my libido has dropped but having your husband show less interest in you when you're already going through tough body changes isn't easy.

Have you all had antenatal classes available to you? We've still not got any available in Glasgow & Clyde. Definitely feel like I'm missing out!

lucyrp · 31/10/2021 04:12

@2020mission I had none this time round either which was a bit rubbish as I was looking forward to OH coming along as he would have enjoyed doing them and meeting other dads. Don't feel bad about not having sex we definitely didn't do it much at all only every 3/4 weeks like you say and even then it was just because we felt like we should otherwise it would be too long. Then near the end I did get a bit of my libido back but it wasn't the best then we just did it so it would help labour Cole along 🤣

Minster2012 · 31/10/2021 07:13

@2020mission I'm sorry you are feeling down. My brother & his girlfriend had my nephew in lockdown last April, in a 3rd floor one bedroom flat in London. My nephew then, as he grew, had a cot in a cupboard! As in they took out a wardrobe to create an alcove which the cot fitted in & draped material from the ceiling to make a canopy. It wasn't ideal as my brother was trying to work from home but they managed fine. It only became an issue when he started to walk & they decided to move this year after he was one (they are actually emigrating) but honestly it's no failing at all, and you'll have more time to continue looking & find somewhere perfect. It may not be ideal on the mortgage front but honestly darling don't stress

@Justanothercyster that just made me really laugh the sex thing 😂

bez91 · 31/10/2021 07:36

@2020mission definitely not failing him, we did find our house before DD was born but by the time we got in I was 7.5 month pregnant and it needed a full renovation. We lived in one room for the first 6 months of her life, builders on site making noise everyday and everything turned out just fine as will you 😊

Fatigue has come back with a vengeance today after disappearing for a few weeks. So much to do today as we go on holiday tomorrow and not packed, also MIL coming down for the day 😫 still in bed drinking tea ☕️

bez91 · 31/10/2021 07:37

@Justanothercyster oh I was going to suggest standing or doggy. Probably not comfortable initially but if need must 😬

DKDK123 · 31/10/2021 08:26

@2020mission sorry to hear you were having a down day, the houses right now are crazy prices. We're in a tiny 2 bed with DS and really wanted to move to a 3 bed before we had another as it's going to be a major tight squeeze. It was getting me down that we couldn't move before baby came, we could at a push but it would mean cutting back on mat leave as we couldn't afford the drop in pay but bigger mortgage payments. Then I stopped to think about what the baby would actually want. A bigger house but me back at work earlier or to spend extra time bonding with their mum discovering the world, it was a no brainer. In years to come your baby won't even remember where they lived the first few years of their life, but they'll always having that feeling of time and love from you. The spacing might not be ideal but you've definitely not failed the baby, you'll make it work and if it's feeling too cramped just get out of the house, take them out to the park, go to groups, you'll find a way. Once you go back to work again you can start to look at buying a bigger house. It might not be the house you (or I) imagined bringing our babies into but I try to remember we have the option of moving in the future, for some people they have more bodies in half the space and won't ever be able to move but they somehow make it work. Chin up, it'll all come together......and the bonus of a smaller space is less mess to clean 😉

Justanothercyster · 31/10/2021 09:55

@lucyrp @bez91 doggy seems to work the best but I can't hold it for long with the bloody SPD! I can't win!

@Minster2012 it's a serious issue 😂😂😂

@2020mission honestly, don't worry, it's not him not being interested, if he's anything like mine it's more likely he's worried about making you uncomfortable/ hurting the baby. Men get a bit weird about it sometimes. Hope you're feeling a bit brighter today 😘

@bez91 did you tell mil like DH wanted? That's reassuring for me too as we face building works during the newborn phase (and maybe living with in laws) 😬😬😱

@Justanothercyster can you sit on a table /work too & have him pump you??
