@Justanothercyster not long! How are you filling your time. It's first day of mat leave today right? Meant to confirm yes S&D = sickness and diarrhoea

Glad it went ok @Minster2012 hope you can tie everyone together! It does seem soon😳, I think it's because they've measured me ahead twice so dates now seem more like my LMP than my actual ov date 🤷‍♀️

@Lexber exactly same dates as you 10+2 EDD 14th May. How strange! Yes I've already been to the royal 6 times for various bloods/scans/meds 🤦🏼‍♀️ had my booking app at QP last Tuesday. I'm bound to bump into you at some point 😆

Lexber · 18/10/2021 16:09

@bez91 I had a feeling you were! Wow! Imagine same hospital at the same time haha that'd be a story...

My scan is 6 days after yours, I'm starting to feel the anxiety as we haven't had any early peaks so praying all is well in there!
My midwife was lovely especially when I was in floods of tears with exhaustion and sick of being sick - janine I think she was called.

Justanothercyster · 18/10/2021 17:38

@Minster2012 wow that's a lot to take in! How are you feeling about it all?

@bez91 I actually did some Xmas shopping today 😂😂 but apart from that just sorting the house, seeing the odd friend and just relaxing before the hectic life of new parenthood!

@Lexber @bez91 lots of scans to look forward too, just try to stay calm, it will all be ok x

@2020mission yea that's what I keep saying to myself that even if we do lose this one now it'll be for a completely different reason from the other 8 and even tho I 100% dotn want to lose this one I think the fact its for a different reason would be slightly more comforting. Weird I know but at least it gives me hope as I didn't think any would ever make it passed that 6 week mark so had given up completely.

@bez91 glad they were able to change the scan date. You know we'll all be here holding your hand thru the scanxiety.

@Justanothercyster this is the torturous part of pregnancy when the finish line feels so near yet so far! Hoping the next 3 weeks fly in for you (or earlier if bubs is impatient)

@Minster2012 ouch on the blown vein 🙈 Hopefully if you're consultant led they will still order a few extra scans, the consultant will be wanting the most up to date info to work with. I've got my booing appointment tomorrow. Actually feeling nervous about it not due to this baby but knowing she's going to make me relive DSs pregnancy and all that kept going wrong there which will probably make me cry 🙈 need to put my big girl pants on tomorrow.
I know you asked on the other bus but thought I'd answer here so it's not too much baby chat when some of the girls are feeling a bit down. Yea officially told DS. If he wasn't already going on about his 'sister' I'd have held off till the 12 week scan but figured we might as well. Showed him the video and he was a bit 'eh?' at first till I told him it was the baby in my tummy then I really wish I'd been filming his reaction as it was just so sweet. He screamed with joy grabbed my phone and just kept replaying the video over and over saying "That's Emily, that's my wee sister!" 🥰 it was too sweet. Do you know when you want to tell your DS?

@Lexber EDD is 27th May but I won't be allowed to go that far as its too dangerous for me to go into labour due to the fibroid blocking my cervix with everything pushing downwards I'll hemorrhage. Plus with DS the fibroid was taking over too much room not giving him enough space to grow so he was out a month early.
How cool would it be if you and @bez91 were next to each other in the Labour ward when the time comes!
We'll get you thru the scanxiety too. Having no sneak peaks means the 12week one will be extra special as you finally get to see your baby and at 12 weeks it does look like a baby not a squidgy random shape like the early ones do. And hopefully by then your sickness will have eased up too so it'll be all good going forward from there into the 2nd trimester.

Minster2012 · 18/10/2021 21:24

@becarefuloutthere thank you so much!

@Lexber my EDD is 24th may based on the epu scan, but may change a little loving that you & @bez91 are at the same place, you could end up being really good mum mates! (Like I am with one of the ivf ladies from MN & we still live an hour away from each other!)your little bub is obviously thriving @bez91

@Justanothercyster I'm feeling pretty good about it, like I don't mind setting the wheels in motion now as I was holding off, 2 scans a couple of weeks apart with heartbeat has reassured me somewhat. I think I'm ok about all the stuff atm, maybe Cos I don't feel sick I'm not as worried about ME getting ill which is other people's concerns for me

@DKDK123 that sounds so lovely on your DS so sweet!! Hopefully I will get extra scans but we'll see, DH has already said he definitely wants the NIPT again as he's worried cos I have so many "random" things wrong with me. Understandable about your concerns on the previous birth, but you've got this. We aren't saying anything around DS atm as he will tell EVERYONE but my MIL has mentioned it around him so only a matter of time I guess!

bez91 · 18/10/2021 21:47

@Lexber that would be mega random 😆 think mine is called Victoria she's an older lady and was great!

@Justanothercyster Christmas shopping yayy, good to be prepared. Just chill otherwise and don't do a lot 🙌🏼

@DKDK123 thankyou and visa versa 🤗 ahh that's lovely your DS is so excited! Remind me how old he is? Definitely being careful too around DD @Minster2012 she'd tell everyone. I told my dad today, he's a medical man so easier to talk to than the average dad 😆 plus we'd need him for childcare maybe for scans etc. We might tell DD when we're on holiday at start of November, undecided yet; we'll see how the scan does next week.

DKDK123 · 19/10/2021 14:17

@bez91 he's 3 well 4 on Friday (don't know where the years went! 😢). He was already telling everyone I've got his baby sister in my tummy anyways way before the scan no matter how much I denied it to him so after the scan there was no point in not telling him. This everyone I denied it to that he told earlier will be so confused 😂

bez91 · 19/10/2021 18:35

@DKDK123 ahh there is 4 days between your DS and my DD. She's 4 on Tuesday 🥰 we'll aim to keep the rainbow babies 4 days apart too 😉
Weirdly I think kids sometimes have an intuition 😅

Minster2012 · 19/10/2021 19:20

@Justanothercyster god Xmas shopping, yeah need to get on that!

@DKDK123 yeah we are going to keep it quiet as long as possible but he's like a parrot 🙈we'll see! I love that so much, especially if it is his baby sister (who you'll have to call Emily right?)

Minster2012 · 19/10/2021 21:24

Well I've "treated" myself to a couple of non underwired bras today which DH says they are the ones that "my boobs are least disappearing into my armpits". Urgh not fun, can't quite bring myself to go maternity bra shopping yet 😬🤦🏼‍♀️

Justanothercyster · 20/10/2021 15:04

Love a bit of Xmas shopping, but thought I'd get it done before things get hectic!

@Minster2012 I bought some non underwired ones at about 20 weeks and it was bliss! Unfortunately I don't seem to have got the benefit of bigger boobs, so I've been wearing the same ones the whole way through 😐

OP posts:
becarefuloutthere · 20/10/2021 17:20

@Justanothercyster where'd you buy yours from? I'm finally succumbing at 22 weeks! I just love my old bras, I don't want to part from them but they just don't fit anymore n I'm getting that 4 boob look with how squashed they look 🙈 😂

lucyrp · 20/10/2021 18:09

@becarefuloutthere bloody hell you're lucky ! I've never loved any of my bras. Can't find any nice ones that fit and are comfortable 😓😭

2020mission · 20/10/2021 18:24

@Justanothercyster I've been in my usual bras the whole pregnancy so far (at 30 weeks now) because of no changes too. It's both good and bad... saved me the money/hassle of having to buy new ones but I admit I would have liked to go up a size or 2 for a change 😅

I'm still convinced given my breasts haven't leaked, hurt or changed at all (barring some blue veins visible), that I'm not going to be able to breast feed. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I haven't started Christmas shopping, I'm definitely going to regret it soon. Still trying to secure a house, it's taking up most of my time around work with all the viewings and research. Scotland has a single blind best offer bid only process for house buying so you don't get an opportunity to outbid anyone. You just have to guess and go for what you think it's worth and hope no one bids higher. It's a real pain!

becarefuloutthere · 20/10/2021 20:09

@lucyrp they're only from new look too, dread to think how many years I've had them 🙈
@2020mission I feel you with the house buying taking over! We moved into ours 3 weeks ago after months of Back n forth with solicitors messing us around and a late exchange but we got there! Now messing around with delivery companies, never ending fun 😆 hope you get the dream place! My friend went way over what her place was worth but she really wanted it so didn't mind in the end. You may remember I went to see her a few months bk, the one near crossmyloof station.

Justanothercyster · 20/10/2021 21:51

@becarefuloutthere I went for the M&S Rosie plunge ones as they're soooo soft and comfy.

@2020mission I also worry about that! I'm so small that I can't imagine being able to produce milk from them?? When I squeeze them colostrum is coming out a tiny bit, hoping my milk will "come in" after the birth like they say it does 🤞🏼

OP posts:
2020mission · 20/10/2021 21:59

@becarefuloutthere ohh yeah I remember that! I think that area is quite popular so can understand she had to splurge. I'm viewing another one tomorrow and will need to decide whether to bid higher this time quickly as we don't want to miss out again. Would love to have the extra space 🤞 did you have to pay higher than you'd have liked for yours? It's my own fault for wanting to live in an area that's in demand 😅

@Justanothercyster I think you're good if colostrum is coming out 👍 at how many weeks did you first manage to squeeze any out?

Minster2012 · 21/10/2021 07:41

Sorry didn't read yesterday, a question, does anyone know if sumatriptan is safe to take in pregnancy? I've got a horrendous migraine & stuck at home all day with the toddler

Pjs got my scan through, for 11th Nov which will be 12+2 🥳

becarefuloutthere · 21/10/2021 08:07

@Justanothercyster thank you 😊
@2020mission such a tough market up there! No, we paid asking first ours as it was a new build so got lots of incentives like stamp duty paid, turfed lawn for front n back etc. Let us know how you get on today.
@Minster2012 sorry my love no idea, can trusty google help or perhaps your midwife? Hope it doesn't last all day! 🙏🏾
Yay for scan date, how bloody exciting!! 😘

Justanothercyster · 21/10/2021 08:25

@2020mission around 25 weeks I'd say, but it hasn't increased or anything. Apparently some women do and some women don't until after birth 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Minster2012 yay for scan! Hope the migraine eases, I'd phone the midwife to check

OP posts:
DKDK123 · 21/10/2021 08:42

I hate bras, even pre pregnancy mine gets whipped off the min I get thru the door! I will say tho the comfiest bra I have (not that I find any bras 'that' comfy) was after measuring myself using the boob or bust calculator. I'd been wearing 36Bs and it measured me at 34GG I thought zero way is that my size but bought one to try and it was massively a better fit! Def give it a try if you haven't before (tho I don't know how accurate it is in pregnancy but definitely try it afterwards).

@Minster2012 no idea if it's safe to take or not but I'm sure a call to the gp/midwife or pop into your local pharmacy and they'll be able to tell you and recommend something else if not. Hooray for scan date. My '12 week' scan date is annoyingly for when I'm 13 weeks 😒 So have booked another private one at 10 weeks to break up the time as theres still part of me that still had niggling doubts that this is going the distance and if not I'd rather catch it sooner than later and another 4 weeks till being scanned feels like forever away 🙄

Minster2012 · 21/10/2021 08:46

@DKDK123 yeah I asked the gp & they say it's "inconclusive" so she's emailed the migraine clinic & we are waiting back, the midwife told me to ask the GP @Justanothercyster 😩

2020mission · 21/10/2021 10:26

Hope your migraine eases off soon @Minster2012 😣 can't recommend on the medication for it though I'm afraid. What symptoms do you get with your migraines? I usually would just take migraleve tablets (paracetamol, codeine and buclizine) outside of pregnancy. I had numerous migraines a week for a month or so in the first trimester although luckily the headache wasn't anywhere near as painful as it is normally so I got by taking nothing since my symptoms were mostly just the vision loss, pins/needles down one side and nausea. All of them passed within an hour too thankfully! Hope you can get something from the GP to help 🤞 Countdown to the 12 week scan now then 😃

bez91 · 21/10/2021 11:15

@Minster2012 not helpful when you have a migraine now is it 🤦🏼‍♀️ isn't there some kind of website you can check it out? I've heard ladies talk about it before but that's pretty useless because I can't remember what it's called! Yayyy to scan appointment, you too @DKDK123 🥳

@2020mission both is completely normal, I didn't leak and they didn't really change during pregnancy but my milk came in on day 5, your progesterone drops when your placenta separates from your uterus that kicks the milk production off 🙌🏼

I'm so bloody emotional this last few weeks, I'm not an emotional person at the worst of times. DH calls me the ice queen yet I'm crying about 3 times a day over nothing. I cried at the football last night 😂 I need to pull myself together

Haiyaa · 21/10/2021 14:54

Sorry I missed your migraine query @Minster2012! I find the BUMPS website best for a balanced view on current data for meds used in pregnancy. Sumatriptan is here www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/Medicine--pregnancy/sumatriptan/

Nothing jumping out but any data comes from super small studies/numbers so not the best quality. If asked by a patient I would be on the fence, technically every manufacturer would advise against it but this is due to lack of data rather than a known problem however as with any medication it is impossible to say that it definitely WON’T cause a problem so some will be dependent on patient weighing up the potential risk against how they are feeling and what they are able to cope with - severe migraine with toddlers are certainly no fun!

Hope it gets better soon, I suffered terribly just with headaches during early pregnancy so don’t envy you!
