@CherLW fantastic news!!! So happy for you! Early is always a bit of a worry but great that he came of his own accord! Thats reassuring about the weight too, theyve told me mine is on the bigger side so good to know they do get that wrong sometimes. Hope you enjoy every second with the little guy x

CherLW · 26/08/2021 18:41

I was so surprised when he was so tiny!! All his clothes are massive 😂 yeh I’m so glad he come off his own back!

I was told at scans he had a large head and things and none of it was even a thing!! Xxx

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 26/08/2021 21:20

What @CherLW??? That’s crazy!! Congratulations 🥳

Bubbles1st · 26/08/2021 21:58

Yay @CherLW congratulations on the birth of Jesse, enjoy him!

Go on tell us the first thing you ate?! 🤣

JackJack84 · 27/08/2021 06:18

Wow @CherLW congratulations!! 🥳 So happy for you!

This gives me so much hope, I had my first growth scan this week & baby was measuring 97th centile at 27+4 so I was a little freaked out 😁

bewitchingnight · 27/08/2021 07:41

A little update from me- 38 weeks and had my last (hurrah!) diabetes clinic and growth scan appointment yesterday. Still all good on the growth front, measuring just about 50th centile and approx 6.8lbs - although as @CherLW has proved its only an estimate!

But the exciting news is that despite them saying all along that they would book an induction for my due date they've actually now said I can go 5 days over to give me more of a chance to go into labour naturally. So I'm thrilled! Fingers crossed that's the way it goes.

bewitchingnight · 27/08/2021 07:42

Also I second what @Bubbles1st has said and @CherLW you need to tell us your post GD treat experience 🤣

AdventuresAwait · 27/08/2021 07:57

Great news @bewitchingnight! Really pleased for you xx

CherLW · 27/08/2021 08:17

@Bubbles1st this is the depressing part 😂 where it was so last minute I didn’t take anything to the hospital!! I’ve not had anything exciting yet!

Thank you ladies, I’m in love, he’s a beauty!! 💙

@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken it still feels so surreal! So unexpected!!

@bewitchingnight that’s great news!! Remind me are you diet controlled? Keep on going only two more weeks or so to go!!
@CherLW enjoy bonding with Jesse! Must be so amazing and get your GD treats in as soon as you can xxx

Moominmiss · 27/08/2021 09:26

Congratulations @CherLW!!! Love his name. He sounds a dream! And so dinky!!

Enjoy every second! And enjoy your food treat when you finally get the chance 🤣 I always found the toast they offer post birth on hospital to just be about one of the best things you’ll ever eat!

bewitchingnight · 27/08/2021 10:01

Thanks guys. Yes @Firevie diet controlled, and I would say as an extra bonus from about halfway through week 37 my tolerance and readings have improved massively, which is a big relief as I was really starting to struggle!

Firevie · 27/08/2021 10:15

@bewitchingnight ah that is great news! Bet you can’t wait to meet your baby and dig into post GD treats xxx

GWhiteley · 27/08/2021 17:58

Oh @CherLW I am so immensely pleased for you! Haven't been on here for a little bit & come on to such amazing news!

At least one of us can start eating normal food now!

Good to know about the sizing & weighing, as my readings have only been getting worse over the last week or so, with an unheard of high fasting reading.

Again, so incredibly pleased for you @CherLW

For those still going, what snacks have you thought about packing in your hospital bag? It's the thing I'm thinking about at the moment as being induced next weds...if she doesn't come early!

CherLW · 28/08/2021 16:22

Thank you @GWhiteley he just decided to leave the September due date clan!!

How ironic…. I didn’t want to harvest colostrum as I didn’t want to initiate early labour… I’m now on my bed with Jesse after having an early labour and I’m harvesting colostrum!! 😂

Hope all you ladies are getting on ok!! Not long to go now!
Everyone keeps asking me how’s the diabetes and my answer is ‘I didn’t even see the placenta to didn’t get to say good riddance to the pesky thing’ 😂

AdventuresAwait · 28/08/2021 18:02

@CherLW, were your and Jesse's blood sugars all fine after the birth?
Again, I am so happy for you. I can just hear your joy, it's so lovely xx

CherLW · 28/08/2021 18:07

@AdventuresAwait it was a bit weird as they were going to do mine every 2 hours in pregnancy but all got forgotten as it was all so quick and crazy at the same time. Then when Jesse was here he had two tests and both were absolutely fine so he was free from it too!

Thank you ❤️ It’s still so surreal but so so beautiful xx

Hi @CherLW all that worry for no reason! Are you OK? Did all go OK? I've just jumped back on this thread and page. Since I gave birth 2 weeks ago, I've not really tested sugars but told to book a hbac test with go after 6 weeks to see if I'm diabetic. Fingers crossed I'm not. I haven't gone mad on treats, too blimmin traumatised from the GD! How's BF going for those that have given birth? @Bubbles1st do we have a list of who has given birth so far? X

Bubbles1st · 28/08/2021 18:26

@Sillysocks998 sorry no list that I have made anyway!

Trying to keep up on the September thread, however they are waiting on a new list and you just reminded me. Lost track of if anyone is solely on here though who didn't originate there.

AdventuresAwait · 28/08/2021 19:34

That's great @CherLW!

I think I'll have to have that test 6 weeks after birth too @Sillysocks998. They said they'll also check my blood sugar after the placenta is delivered too to see if it returns to normal.
Did you have a natural birth? Xx

CherLW · 28/08/2021 23:57

Hey @Sillysocks998 how are you and your little one getting on? I wasn’t told I need to carry on testing mine, I just need to book an appointment through the GP to check like you do.

Me and baby are doing well! Milk is coming in 💪🏼. I had a strange birth! Up to 10cm I was on gas and air, even tho I wanted an epidural and pethadine I didn’t get them as the labour was going so quick! Then I was 10cm and I was pushing for what felt like eternity!! Then Jesse wasn’t playing ball and was in the wrong position, they kept loosing his heartbeat, the contractions were stopping and not regular enough for me to get to the end! Ended up in emergency theatre having an episiotomy, spinal tap and forceps delivery! Everyone was amazing tho, there was about 10-12 people in the room all ready for anything. I couldn’t thank them enough!!

I’m so excited for when the September births start (actually in September 😂)
