Hi all, does anyone know if cyclizine before your GTT would affect your blood sugars? I've been diagnosed following a high fasting reading and only had water since 10pm the night before as requested. But I have just remembered I had a cyclizine as soon as I woke up before going to the hospital, would that have affected it? Or am I just clutching to a false diagnosis and I just need to embrace this and get on with it?!

Bubbles1st · 29/08/2021 13:13

@CherLW no sorry I have only been keeping a specific update for the September group thread. Even that needs updating!
Less than 48 hours until my section so I'm some what distracted by everything at the minute!

bewitchingnight · 29/08/2021 13:40

@Bubbles1st exciting, didn't realise your section was so close, hope you are getting some rest in! @AdventuresAwait is yours this week as well?

AdventuresAwait · 29/08/2021 14:08

@Bubbles1st and @bewitchingnight, yes mine is on Thursday! Xx

CherLW · 29/08/2021 16:00

@Bubbles1st ahh sorry I think I copied and pasted that from someone else and forgot to delete from the message 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hope you’re feeling ok about your section! So exciting!! X

@CherLW I did think it was deja vu but couldn't really understand why 🤣🤣

bewitchingnight · 29/08/2021 19:21

@AdventuresAwait and @Bubbles1st ah the wait is nearly over for you both! ❤️

Moominmiss · 29/08/2021 21:19

Ooooh there are quite a few sections this week! Mine is on Friday!

Can’t wait to hear everyone’s news!

Also I had my first hypo today. Was horrible. I felt so off, really nauseous, shakey, light headed, and sooo tired. I’d had to lie down for a while and wasn’t feeling any better so eventually thought to test and my level was 3.1. Had a glucose tablet which brought it up to 3.9 after 15 minutes, so had another glucose tab, then tested again after another 15 minutes and it came up to 4.7.

Finally felt normal about half an hour after that last test.

Actually really worried about the steroid injections I have to have this week ahead of my section now. My diabetic consultant said that the steroids can really mess with your sugar levels so they’ve given me a new insulin plan for the few days from when I have my first injection, up until Friday.
But I have to test 2 hourly. Then if I get 2 or more readings of 10 or above I’ll be admitted and have to go on an insulin drip.
Just dreading this week really. I just want baby here safely and see that he’s ok.

AdventuresAwait · 29/08/2021 21:35

Ooh Friday @Moominmiss, exciting! And when is yours @Bubbles1st? (Sorry if I missed you saying).

@Moominmiss glad you're feeling better after your hypo. Sorry to hear you have to have steroid injections, hope they are OK and don't affect your sugar levels.

I'm starting to feel nervous about this week and then the section. My levels have been a little higher than usual. Just want to know baby is ok xx

AdventuresAwait · 29/08/2021 21:37

@Bubbles1st, just saw your section day on the other thread... exciting! Xx

Moominmiss · 29/08/2021 21:51

That’s at least 3 babies coming this week!

@AdventuresAwait I’m definitely feeling the nerves now. I won’t relax until I have a baby in my arms!

My levels have been the opposite, I’ve found they’ve been lower than ever. Like I’ve not needed to do my before meal insulin and I’ve had levels in the 5’s.
I’m wondering if I really need the amount of nighttime insulin I’m on as my morning levels have been low 4’s and even a 3.9.
I know some find that their levels start regulating again after 36 weeks and I’m wondering if that’s where I’m at.
But also hoping it doesn’t mean my placenta is failing or anything.

AdventuresAwait · 29/08/2021 23:37

@Moominmiss, that's good. I had the same from about 36 weeks for a couple of weeks with levels suddenly improving and then this week just seemed to change. Will try and be super good for the last 3 days!

Firevie · 30/08/2021 07:00

Oh wow that is so exciting - 3 babies this week! All the v best @Bubbles1st @AdventuresAwait and @Moominmiss can’t wait to hear that you’re holding your babies in your arms! You’ve all come so far - pat on your shoulders. The countdown is truly on for you guys now. 33+4today so still have just over 6weeks to go xxx

Bubbles1st · 30/08/2021 08:33

Thanks all, 24 hours from now I could be gowned up and waiting!

So excited and nervous all at once. I can't wait to see my darling boys face and features, see if his has hair, how long he is and what he finally weighs. Just want to drink it all in.

Good luck @AdventuresAwait and @Moominmiss for later in the week. I hope we all have swift and speedy recoveries and can all go home asap with our babies.

AdventuresAwait · 30/08/2021 08:36

Thank you @Firevie, I keep going from really excited to really nervous but I guess that's natural. Just want baby to be ok.

6 weeks left for you... do you find time is passing quickly? I feel like the weeks have flown by. How are you feeling/ doing? Xx

Bubbles1st · 30/08/2021 09:35

My online shopping just got delivered.... lots of post birth treats and meals! Yay.

Scotti84 · 30/08/2021 13:32

Hi all, so im at 40 weeks today, phoned the hospital this morning as advised due to the diabetes, and waiting for a call back to see how we proceed. Im kind of hoping i can go in, they can check me over and if everything is still ok send me home to wait it out a bit more. On one hand waiting around is doing my head in, but on the other hand i so want her to come on her own. Ive got essential oils for a bath, another curry for tea and hubby is on foot rubbing duty on pressure points. Ive had some twitches and lightening crotch so im kind of hoping theyll look and say oh your cervix is ready and youre already at 2cm, but I think thats just wishful thinking 😅

CherLW · 31/08/2021 07:59

@Scotti84 sending you labour vibes 💕 if that’s a thing!! Also I’ve heard massaging your nipples helps! X

Scotti84 · 31/08/2021 09:39

@CherLW haha thank you! I will accept them and think them into existence 😁

Scotti84 · 31/08/2021 10:39

Booked in tomorrow for induction! Very nervous but also excited and a bit in disbelief... its getting real!

AdventuresAwait · 31/08/2021 11:01

Oooh @Scotti84, not long now then! How exciting! You're going to meet your baby xx

bewitchingnight · 31/08/2021 12:41

@Scotti84 oh exciting! Hope it all goes well make sure you have a lovely chilled out day today!

Just had a midwife appointment (39 weeks tomorrow) and she's booked me for a sweep at bang on 40 weeks, induction already booked for 40+5.

Doesn't seem long since we were all diagnosed and trying to work it all out together ❤️

Scotti84 · 31/08/2021 12:49

@AdventuresAwait @bewitchingnight thanks ladies. Im half nervous as hell and half not worrying at all, have a few niggles it might be more painful or end in c section but if it does, it does. As long as she gets here safe and healthy, the rest doesn't matter. We're off for a coffee and cake, which i really shouldn't do but at this point i think one piece wont matter, and enjoy our last evening at home as a two!

I think this is a good week to have babies, I'm in good company with some others of you on here! Can't believe we're all almost there!

bewitchingnight · 31/08/2021 19:38

@Scotti84 yeah all you can do is go with the flow really, that's my attitude for induction anyway! Hope you enjoyed the coffee and cake!

GWhiteley · 31/08/2021 20:08

@Scotti84 I'm also booked in for induction tomorrow - so best of luck! I'm like you, half nervous, half ok. Not expecting much to happen tomorrow though. Just hope it doesn't take days & days to happen!
