@sociallydistained I am having the exact same thing today!! How weird. I haven't had any cramps or anything the whole first trimester, apart from maybe a little stretching nearer my pubic bone quite early on, but all of this morning so far I am getting a weird stretching/cramping sensation right across the middle of my bump, like belly button level and to either side of my waist.

I am now worrying of course Confused Naturally.

@Jonesy88 Glad to hear that everything was okay and scan went well!! You've got a little rascal there, mine was the same, kept turning away and putting their hands over their face haha! Glad to hear that measurements were normal x

@expectinglittlebear @sociallydistained thanks for the welcome! I've been having all sorts of cramping almost throughout so far. I think it's all normal as everything is stretching and expanding. It got quite bad around 14 weeks for me for a few days, felt like bad period pains but eased off and everything seems to still be okay. It can be worrying though!

EsseKey · 27/07/2021 13:03

I have called today and they told me that the 20 wk scan won't be until end of September (although I will be 20 wk at the beginning of Sept...), and I will receive the letter at some point.

Is any of you suffering from respiratory allergies/hay fever? I have just realised that I am going to live with pets for a month (at my parents'), and this is usually a bit tragic for me unless I take allergy pills...the midwife told me I should stay away from otc allergy medications and ask for a prescription (but she didn't say what drug I am supposed to get)... and my GP practice isn't really helpful today they keep saying they are busy and to call later... Angry

spttc · 27/07/2021 13:52

@EsseKey I have TERRIBLE hayfever 🙈😂 I feel your pain. My doctor said nasal sprays and eye drops only if you can. Iv just sort of struggled through. It's a pain. When you google some drugs are listed as ok, when you look at the box of those drugs in the pharmacy it says not to be used during pregnancy! Seems to vary country to country, doctor to doctor. My doctor just said as little as possible, sprays and drops only. Maybe they're being very cautious though.

EsseKey · 27/07/2021 13:58

@spttc you are not giving me good news 😂😂 I can't even think of living for a month with pets and expect to come out alive with just sprays and drops 😪
I think that as for many things there is a risk/benefit ratio to be evaluated case by case... Hopefully the gp can clarify that for me!

spttc · 27/07/2021 14:00

@EsseKey 😂😂😂 yeh like I said there's definitely certain drugs that are better than others! Fingers crossed 🤞 😂🙈

spttc · 27/07/2021 14:02

13+2 today......THE NAUSEA 🤮🤮🤮🙈🙈🙈 is anyone else still suffering. Mine has gotten worse. It's worse than it's ever been today. I'm on medication for it but it's not scratching the surface!

happysam · 27/07/2021 14:08

Hi guys! In case anyone's missed it we now have a FB group for this thread. It's called Jan Adventures, you need to search in 'groups' at the top to find it and you might need to scroll a bit.

@happysam Just joined!

@essekey I used to be really bad, but weirdly moving to the countryside helped. I've heard rave reviews about hayfever wipes? Could be worth a shot.

@spttc I feel your pain! I've managed to avoid meds so far but I have about 2 hours a day where I feel semi human. The rest of the time I just feel disgusting. 14 weeks now and no sign of improvement yet 😭. However I've heard different from different people some say it's like a switch and one day you'll wake up just fine. Others say it's more gradual. Hoping for an off switch soon!

EsseKey · 27/07/2021 14:37

@spttc gosh i am so sorry to hear that you are still struggling with nausea! mine has disappeared, I just get full quite easily when I eat, but then I am hungry again after a couple of hours!

I thought I had all my energies back but I am noticing big changes every day...one day I am full of energies and willing do go about and do stuff, the other day I just want to sleep!

EsseKey · 27/07/2021 14:41

@Tangfastic91 oh, sorry you are also still struggling with the sickness

my problem is mostly with pets, I love them but I can't be near them without suffering from bad respiratory allergy! I even changed my career (partly) because of that, I was a vet surgeon but couldn't be at work even with all the allergy medications!
Now normally I can cope for a couple of weeks when I visit my parents if I take the pills (and still it's not perfect, but it's manageable) - I am worried about a full month!
I will try and search these wipes you mentioned, thanks!

It shouldn't do as it's a private group. I can always rename it to something less obvious maybe?

I've just searched on DHs fb and you can't see the members if you haven't joined the group, only the mods and admins.

spttc · 27/07/2021 19:32

@happysam oh don't worry I used my old Facebook page & joined! 0 friends on it. I'm not a big Facebook user anyway! Thanks 🙏 😁

You’ve made me feel better at least by being in the same boat. If you look up week 14 it seems to be quite a prominent thing but yes scary. Got lots of scary new things to come but hopefully it’s all good signs 🤞🏼

tinydancingbean · 27/07/2021 19:45

Hello - can I join? Due 28 Jan, first baby, long fertility journey to get here. Been reading and getting lots of comfort from thread for a while. 13w 4d and still feeling pretty sick but today having some cramps for first time too - magical combo!

spttc · 27/07/2021 20:54

Welcome @tinydancingbean 🎉🎉 I'm 13+2 and still so sick! It's actually gotten worse 🙈😬😂 no cramps but Iv seen others mentioning that around the 13-14 week mark! I think it's ligaments etc stretching making room!

thecapitalsunited · 27/07/2021 21:49

I’ve also had some mild cramps in the last few days. It doesn’t seem to last for very long and it’s like a dull ache. No spotting so I’ve assumed it’s just things stretching in there to make more room.

Had anyone else noticed a bump developing? I’m quite fat so wasn’t expecting to see anything for a while but I can definitely feel a rounding in my belly and it’s gone all hard around the belly button.

expectinglittlebear · 28/07/2021 08:47

@spttc Sorry to hear you are still not feeling great with the nausea! Mine is very much still there, but thankfully seems to be predominantly the mornings and evenings, so I can at least get some relief in the daytime!

@tinydancingbean Welcome and congratulations lovely Flowers

@thecapitalsunited Yeah I definitely have a bump developing. To begin with I was more 'rounded' as I was so bloated, but now that seems to have gone and I look slimmer round the sides, with a little hard bump in the middle! I've been getting some cramps too, nothing like period pains, more like stretching across the middle, which I assume is round ligament pain

OP posts:
EsseKey · 28/07/2021 09:00

I have cramps sometimes, not every day though.

I have a little bump, although honestly I think that most of it is bloating! 😅 I can feel my uterus being really hard in my lower abdomen, but it's not really protruding or anything like that, and my weight hasn't gone up! 🙈 I have just compared pictures taken this morning and 2 weeks ago, not much difference tbh...

spttc · 28/07/2021 09:58

Yeh I don't have a bump. Realistically the baby is the size of a peach right now. Like so small. I was more bloated about a week ago, Iv slimmed down now. It depends on if it's your first or not. If it's your first your ab muscles are intact and your belly doesn't stick out as easy. I'm liking not having a bump though, I'm in no hurry for one! Means I can keep it secret longer! 😁

IDontDrinkTea · 28/07/2021 10:00

Definite bump here at 15+2, but I suppose they say you show quicker with your second? As I swear I wasn’t this big til much further on last time!
