Pregnant after third miscarriage...

Hey everyone! I've just found out I'm pregnant after 3 consecutive miscarriages. We recently found out as well that the 3rd miscarriage was actually a partial molar, so I'm quite nervous about that happening again....I guess I'm just looking for positive stories to try and keep me looking on the bright side! When I'm making plans for a few months, I keep thinking, it won't matter I probably won't be pregnant anymore anyway.

Praying this is the one! I'm also on progesterone pesseries this time around, despite knowing that it's unlikely they will do anything! I had the usual round of testing too which came back normal....which is good I guess, just wish there was a reason!

Anyway feel free to join and and chat and we can support each other! 🌈🌈🤞

Heyy @treesall! Weekend was pretty chilled, thanks. Distracting myself with garden work! How about you?

I think the chances of having two molar pregnancies in a row are so so low, but I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind too (especially how we both said we wondered if our previous pregnancies had been PM!). Some women just have no symptoms at all, my sister has had 2 days of feeling slightly nauseated and she is now 15 week. She was actually in so much pain throughout her first, and now second, she was convinced she would mc. My symptoms have definitely lessened, but come and go. I have been doing loads of searching online and it's hard to know anything with symptoms. As long as there's no bleeding, there's still hope for us! Your scan is Friday?

Hi @treesall sorry that you’re feeling worried. It’s awful isn’t it. The stress is unbearable! Sounds like you had a nice weekend @HeyyyItsMe! I’ve just been hiding inside avoiding the heat!

I’m 6 weeks today and my only symptom is sore boobs which come and go. That’s literally it! It worries me and I wish I could have more symptoms in a way because it would feel more reassuring. I’ve got another scan on Thursday which I’m already nervous about, but I haven’t had any more spotting which I really really really hope is a good sign. I’m still really worried and just getting through it day by day, but I’m feeling unbelievably lucky to have even got to 6 weeks after 3 MCs.

HeyyyItsMe · 19/07/2021 21:26

@DeadPapaToothwort It's so hard not to over analyse everything isn't it??? I just wish I could know rather than waiting so long! It's a great sign, I would think! Coupled with your scan which seems right on the correct dates 🤞🤞 my scan is on Thursday too, I feel optimistic about this one, but who knows. I'm such a mix of emotions!! I'll be 7 weeks on Thursday, hoping wee bean at least measures roughly on date. Every scan we had before has been like 2 weeks behind.

I think you're right, we should feel lucky and just keep positive as much as we can, as hard as it is! No amount of worrying will change a thing (easier said than done 🤣🤣).

@HeyyyItsMe that sounds like a nice weekend!

I know the chances of two molars is low...it's just that fear that I can't get rid of! Two of my miscarriages were missed so the lack of bleeding doesn't really reassure me, but at least it means I'm in with a chance!! Yes my scan is Friday. Eeeeeeeeeeeek!! I'm 6 weeks tomorrow.

I've got everything crossed for you @DeadPapaToothwort. I think the spotting having stopped is definitely a good sign! 3 days and you'll have your answer. (I say that, but actually I'm kinda dreading Friday because I just don't want the disappointment and would almost rather carry on in ignorant bliss for a while longer. I've got total fear they will say the scan is inconclusive (which I will 100% know will mean it's failed, because I'm sure of my dates) but then it's that horrible limbo while they wait and rescan etc. I have a good feeling for you though :-)

treesall · 19/07/2021 22:09

No I'm not, 6 weeks on wed not tomorrow. Time has def stopped!!!

treesall · 21/07/2021 21:24

@HeyyyItsMe and @DeadPapaToothwort best of luck tomorrow with your scans. I'll be thinking of you.

DeadPapaToothwort · 21/07/2021 22:27

Thank you @treesall, good luck to you for Friday Flowers

HeyyyItsMe · 22/07/2021 08:03

Thanks @treesall, good luck for tomorrow too 🤞

I have miscarried again sadly. No sign of an embryo and the sac is measuring smaller than last week. I am going to step away from Mumsnet now, as I don’t feel I should be here. I’m not a mum, and I don’t think I’ll ever be. My heart is breaking.

HeyyyItsMe · 22/07/2021 11:51

Scan went well! Wee peanut measuring 6w5d and we could see the flickering of a heartbeat 😭😭😭 I'm still in disbelief!! Burst out crying, the poor midwife didn't know what to do 🤣🤣 🤞🤞

@HeyyyItsMe that's wonderful news. I'm so so so pleased for you!!! Will you have any more scans or just waiting til the normal 12 week one now?

@DeadPapaToothwort oh no, I am so so so sorry to read that. That's so devastating. You don't have to give up on being a mum. Are you under a recurrent miscarriage specialist? Sending you so much love. I know how devastating repeated loss is. X

HeyyyItsMe · 22/07/2021 12:23

@DeadPapaToothwort I am so so sorry, I can't imagine how you are feeling big hugs. That was really awful timing on my behalf, I didn't mean to look insensitive. Have you had testing for RMC?

@treesall hope you're feeling okay for tomorrow 🤞🤞

Thank you @HeyyyItsMe . Absolutely petrified to be honest. Thank you for thinking of me... I'll let you know x

treesall · 23/07/2021 13:11

@HeyyyItsMe Embryo is measuring 6+1 (am 6+2) so ok size wise and we saw / heard the heartbeat. However; the consultant said it is slow (116bpm) and that that was "worrying". Just gotta wait and see what happens I guess.... x

HeyyyItsMe · 23/07/2021 13:18

@treesall Fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞 it's really positive that there was a heartbeat and your measuring on track 🤞🤞. We never had the heartbeat measured actually! I think the heart hasn't long started at 6 weeks hasn't it? Are you getting any follow up scans? Just realised I forgot to reply to your earlier post, I have a scan at 10 weeks then 12 weeks!

@HeyyyItsMe how are you doing?
I was surprised to find out I was pregnant again and immediately dove into researching everything I was ingesting and putting on my face! I had been taking a supplement called NAC (n-acetyl cysteine). It’s an amino acid that’s a precursor to glutathione, but I started taking it because I have an OCD spectrum disorder and some studies have shown it can help with that. I was really happy to learn that the only pregnancy info for NAC was that it was shown to be more effective at preventing miscarriage than folic acid alone. I asked doctor about it and she said it was fine to take. Could be worth chatting with your midwife about as well? It’s apparently just good for you in general.

HeyyyItsMe · 24/07/2021 08:31

Hey @ChaiTRex! Welcome, how far along are you? How have you been doing? I am a bit reluctant to start anything new at the moment since we had a positive 7 week scan 🙈 I'm on loads of multi vits, high dose folic acid and progesterone which hopefully has done the trick...or not and it was just a streak of bad luck (which I find hard to believe!).

Heyy how is everyone doing?

@treesall how are you keeping? I had my booking appointment today which was surreal, never made it this far without any complications! Second scan next Wednesday, hoping there is still a wee viable baby there...

OP posts:
treesall · 05/08/2021 13:52

@HeyyyItsMe I'm an absolute wreck today to be honest! My scan is tomorrow morning and I'm convinced it's going to be bad news. I just don't feel like there's a baby in there. I just don't want to hear the bad news and want to stay in ignorant bliss for a while longer! Equally though, I know I need to come off the meds if it's gone wrong so I have no choice but to find out.

That's good that you had your booking in appointment! My fingers will be crossed for you on Wednesday x

HeyyyItsMe · 06/08/2021 08:38

@treesall Aw I'm sorry you're feeling so awful. It's so hard to know, I hope your scan goes well today, let me know how you get on 🤞🤞🤞.
