Pregnant after third miscarriage...

Hey everyone! I've just found out I'm pregnant after 3 consecutive miscarriages. We recently found out as well that the 3rd miscarriage was actually a partial molar, so I'm quite nervous about that happening again....I guess I'm just looking for positive stories to try and keep me looking on the bright side! When I'm making plans for a few months, I keep thinking, it won't matter I probably won't be pregnant anymore anyway.

Praying this is the one! I'm also on progesterone pesseries this time around, despite knowing that it's unlikely they will do anything! I had the usual round of testing too which came back normal....which is good I guess, just wish there was a reason!

Anyway feel free to join and and chat and we can support each other! 🌈🌈🤞

Hey there, can I join you? I've just read through the thread and I feel like you are my people!

I'm 4+5 with my 6th pregnancy. I have one child from my first (perfect, straightforward!) pregnancy and have had 4 early miscarriages in the last 11 months. I'm now receiving treatment privately for over-active NK cells but my gut feeling is that this pregnancy is failing too. I feel sick with fear and worry, and I just want to sleep until it's all over! Two of my mcs have needed surgery to remove them and I just can't face the thought of that again. I don't have any symptoms whatsoever and that's always been a bad sign for me.

@Sunny56 I'm so sorry to read your update. Sending you lots of love. Its the worst feeling in the world :-(

PurplePansy05 · 12/07/2021 23:38

Also I've heard some people have a clotting issue only while pregnant so it never shows up on the tests.

Bang on, true. My tests showed no clotting issues (or any issues, for that matter). My consultant also supported aspirin and I'm taking 75mg daily until later this week (36 weeks). Do make sure you don't suffer from any conditions that might become adversely affected by aspirin, but otherwise it's a very low dose and if you're unlucky to suffer from blood clotting issues only in pregnancy, I can't really see any other way of preventing this as they don't get diagnosed early on or at all.

So sorry to hear more bad news. There's no consolation or silver lining, is there. It's utterly shit. But we all will go through it and get there. Remember you're not alone, just a part of an invisible, but a very supportive crowd. Xxx

DeadPapaToothwort · 13/07/2021 07:25

Hi @treesall welcome,

I feel exactly the same. No symptoms and I’m convinced it’s a bad sign. I too wish I could sleep until 40 weeks.

Mammyofasuperbaby · 13/07/2021 08:29

I'm so sorry @Sunny56, 4 losses is cruel.

Sy.ptoms are a funny thing as I've had horrendous symptoms for all 5 pregnancies with mixed results. The worst one was baby 3 (mc 2). Baby died at 10 weeks but we didn't find out till 12 weeks and I didn't deliver my perfect angel till 15 weeks. So for 5 weeks my body was putting me through hg even though for 3 of those weeks I knew my baby was gone. I know many a woman who have had no symptoms and had perfectly healthy, wonderful pregnancies. It really is a mixed bag.
Fingers crossed for all of you, if not for now, then the future

HeyyyItsMe · 13/07/2021 13:54

@PurplePansy05 Thanks, and yeh, I think I would quite like to know though, for my own sanity. But like you said, they can happen for different reasons, so I guess I have to take comfort in the fact that my lasy miscarriage had a very clear reason that couldn't have been helped. I also qorry about the clotting issue as you mentioned, but I've had such mixed opinions on the low dose asprin that I was just too scared to take it. If it happens again I might be brave enough!

@Sunny56 I'm so so sorry to hear. Be kind to yourself and take it easy. 4 losses is awful to go through.

@treesall welcome! Sorry to hear of your struggles. Try not to dwell on the symptoms, I've had horrendous sickness the past 3 times and they have all ended in miscarriage. I'm getting bad nausea again this time around, but I have no idea what it means, just have to wait until my scan next week!

@Sunny56 I'm sorry to hear your loss. x

@HeyyyItsMe I think we're in a similar position! I didn't take aspirin this time but I did last time, with my 3rd. The pg failed at the same time as the previous two.... I'm on a herbal medicine this time, the acupuncturist gave me it saying it "prevent miscarriage" ... the Internet has mixed reviews on it, same as the aspirin so figured I'd give it a go.

I just had 5 days of zero brown spotting/discharge just to find a faint brown streak back. I've myself convinced this one is going the same way, only two days to wait to find out... Confused

treesall · 13/07/2021 16:30

Thank you @DeadPapaToothwort - I hope we are both wrong and the no symptoms is irrelevant! How many weeks are you?

Thanks for your comment @Mammyofasuperbaby. It's funny isn't it, even if i had symptoms I know it would only reassure me for 5 minutes so I'm basically never going to feel relaxed I think, as I'm sure no one on this thread does.

@HeyyyItsMe I've got my fingers crossed for you. After my last one, I am paranoid my pregnancy will be another partial molar too. My first and last mc seem so similar and I can't help but wonder if the first one was a partial too. I'll never know!

DeadPapaToothwort · 13/07/2021 17:57

@TJ876 sorry to hear you’re spotting. It’s so scary isn’t it Flowers

@treesall 5 weeks and 3 days. What about you? Smile

DeadPapaToothwort · 13/07/2021 18:00

@Sunny56 silly question, but how are you lovely? I’m thinking of you Flowers

Sunny56 · 13/07/2021 18:03

@DeadPapaToothwort waiting for the bleed to start, but I have a feeling that body is not going to do it and I will need some intervention. 😢 Feeling really nauseous, can barley eat anything, all the pregnancy symptoms are just rubbing salt in the wound

DeadPapaToothwort · 13/07/2021 18:07

@Sunny56 oh it’s so rubbish isn’t it. It’s so hard on our poor bodies too. I hope you have some time off work and are just taking it as easy as you can x

treesall · 13/07/2021 18:14

@DeadPapaToothwort I'm only 4+6.

@Sunny56 sending you lots of love. That period between knowing the pregnancy isn't successful and it physically being over is the worst thing, such an awful, cruel limbo. I hope you are coping as ok as is possible x

Sunny56 · 13/07/2021 18:47

@DeadPapaToothwort I have taken this week off, but if I'm not going to miscarry naturally I'm gonna have to take next week off, I'm so worried. I work in a primary school - I can't book holiday days or anything like that, I've had so much time off already, I had nearly three weeks in September with my second miscarriage, I had to have two surgical managements. Then I had two weeks off for IVF and now this. I'm not sure where I stand. But I know I cannot physically be there.

decafforme · 13/07/2021 19:02

I had three Mc then had dc1. That was my first pregnancy on progesterone. I am
Now just coming to the end of 1st trimester with dc2 again on progesterone and so far all looking well so keeping fingers crossed. My losses were all early on. No issues from tests.

DeadPapaToothwort · 13/07/2021 19:10

I’m cramping now and so scared. It is so impossibly hard to remain positive. I can’t help but feel like miscarriage 4 is imminent Sad

Sunny56 · 13/07/2021 19:17

@DeadPapaToothwort are you on any medication?

Sunny56 · 13/07/2021 19:20

@DeadPapaToothwort just found your first comment. When is your scan? I hope everything will go well for you as you seem to be doing everything you can medication wise. Could it be progesterone side effects do you think?

DeadPapaToothwort · 13/07/2021 19:22

@Sunny56 scan at EPU is on Monday. I suppose it could possibly be a side effect of the progesterone, but I’ve been taking it over a week without cramps and it started before tonight’s pessary

TJ876 · 13/07/2021 19:30

@decafforme that’s positive!! Thank you!

@DeadPapaToothwort try and stay positive x

Mammyofasuperbaby · 14/07/2021 06:51

@Sunny56, don't worry about work. Miscarriage is classed as pregnancy related absence so they can't say or do anything about you not being there.
Take the time you need to recover.
I was off work for 3 weeks after mc2 due to trauma (the gynecologist put me through torture and was struck off for it) and I hemorrhaged. It took me about 2.5 weeks to feel strong enough to go out side never mind work.

Littlepaws18 · 14/07/2021 07:01

I had three miscarriages last year... am currently having contractions with this pregnancy. Hold strong see your gp get referred to the Miscarriage unit, they gave me hormone pessaries and early scans, monitored blood pressure and I had lie iron so helped me with that.

It can happen x it will happen x I have everything crossed for you x

HeyyyItsMe · 14/07/2021 14:56

I've just received a letter from my RM consultant with details of a conversation we had at the end of June. She added that my thryoid function was 4.11 which was slightly elevated...but looking online it seems that this is on the higher end of the spectrum for pregnancy!? Does anyone know anything else about this? I'm worried the same will just happen again now if my thyroid is elevated!!

DeadPapaToothwort · 14/07/2021 17:38

Still cramping and I’m now spotting. I’ve got an emergency scan tomorrow in gynaecology because EPU couldn’t fit me in. I’m 100% sure I’m miscarrying again. I’m so devastated, my heart just aches.

Sunny56 · 14/07/2021 20:22

@DeadPapaToothwort keeping everything crossed for you, stay strong.

No bleeding for me as of yet, going to EPU tomorrow for medical management. I just want it to be over.

DeadPapaToothwort · 14/07/2021 20:41

Thank you @Sunny56 I’m not hopeful. Pain and spotting has only had one outcome so far. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too
