@VixFromThe6ix treat yourself to another scan if it'll make you feel better. I think I will

Pamparam · 23/06/2021 20:02

Thanks all, I’m pragmatic about it and I really hope that I’m the only statistic on this thread!

Hope you ladies are ok, i generally feel absolutely fine during the day but struggling with evenings. I feel cold , tired and sooo sick, nothing helps , tried eating lighter and later on x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/06/2021 04:22

@Pamparam I understand, but it still must hurt. Hope you get pregnant again quickly x

@MgW1 I was thinking about you, hope you're doing well! Evenings and nights are worse for me too, I've been struggling to eat dinner. I'm sure it's the mega bloating making me feel sick

Shortmamashortcycles · 24/06/2021 08:56

Hi all, I'm hoping I can join you.

I'm 35, ttc #2 and this morning got a pretty strong bfp at I think 12DPO (was trying to be chill and didn't do OPKs). I'm 3+6, I think.

I've been lurking on your conception thread the last few days thinking I might hop in there but... maybe I'm lucky and can hang here?

I'm terrified posting this might jinx it - I've been cramping and spotting since Sunday, and tbh I'm close to giving myself thrush from (TMI) having a rummage every hour to check for blood.

When I conceived DD, I had a big bleed at 5+6 - thankfully the EPU scan found a heartbeat and she was fine, but no idea what caused it, and that plus my short cycles and tendency to spot for ages is really freaking me out.

I am currently picking at some breakfast, feeling pretty 🤢 so I'm hoping it's a good sign.

Did anyone here book a private reassurance scan and if so, how and when? Do you just google it?

M4v3r1ck · 24/06/2021 11:12

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 awesome, glad you had a great scan! 😍😍😍 I also have days where symptoms come and go, so I think/hope that's normal! 😃🤞🏻

@VixFromThe6ix how far along are you now? Hope you hear soon re: 12-week scan! 😃

@MgW1 I'm sorry to hear that! Are you able to just get to bed earlier and try to sleep it off? Or even a bath! I'm much better now, but a few weeks ago I was practically sound asleep at 8pm! 🙈

@Shortmamashortcycles welcome and congratulations! 😍😍😍 Here's to healthy pregnancies all round! From what I've read from others, It sounds like some women are prone to spotting - so stressful, but the baby is perfectly healthy! I opted for a private scan the other weekend and I was around 10 weeks. I used ultrasound direct as someone else mentioned and used them on here, and one was nearby for me! 😃

@M4v3r1ck
Yes I am hoping it passes, it sounds like your over the worst of it x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/06/2021 14:01

@M4v3r1ck how're you getting along? Feeling a lot better?

@Shortmamashortcycles welcome. I've spotted a bit and it is disconcerting. I had an early scan with Ultrasound Direct also, it was a good experience. The sonographer seemed good, nice environment, the jelly was even heated! They start the scans at six weeks, but I think I read elsewhere that you can call them if you've had spotting and see if they'll scan you earlier.

Pamparam · 24/06/2021 14:41

@Shortmamashortcycles congrats. I have nothing but good things to say about Window to the Womb if they have any branches near you. I would recommend going around 9ish weeks.

VixFromThe6ix · 24/06/2021 15:20

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I might just take the paid test which would let me get an ultrasound at 10 weeks. I just need the hospital to call me so we can book something lol I feel like for us that have had a tough time getting pregnant we need that extra and more frequent reassurance! Wishful thinking 😁

@MgW1 I definitely get worse later in the day. I don't feel nausea lately but the bloating gets extreme and uncomfortable. Along with being hungry and extra tired, I just feel blah. I hope these are all good signs that we are having healthy sticky beans.

@M4v3r1ck I am 8 weeks plus a day now. Finally got a call from the hospital and have my first appointment on July 12 with the ob and ultrasound will be week of July 19. 🤞🤞🤞

@Shortmamashortcycles congratulations!!!!

Noodella18 · 24/06/2021 16:02

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @MgW1 @VixFromThe6ix @M4v3r1ck @ImpatientTTCer it's crazy how the morning sickness affects everyone in different ways. I am feeling so rough and sorry for myself :( I feel terrible from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep, with maybe a 30 minute respite in the morning and again in the afternoon where I don't feel horrendous. I haven't been sick yet which kind of makes it worse because at least there would be a point to all this feeling rubbish, and it used to make me feel better for a little while after in my last pregnancy. I'm starting to feel worried though because it feels like it's worse than last time and I'm only at 7 weeks and reading through texts to my friend mine got worse and worse up to 14 weeks and then tailed off and got a lot better at 16 weeks. I don't know how I will hack another 9 weeks of this, I can barely work, walking round makes me feel hideous and I have to look after my toddler two days a week. Would I be totally pathetic to ask for some medication to help with this? I'm not even throwing up though, it just permanently feels like I'm on the brink of it.

VixFromThe6ix · 24/06/2021 16:30

Hi @Noodella18 omg mama go get some medicine!!! If you're feeling extra crappy, ask for help.
My issue is not nausea as much as bloating, so medication won't help me but for nausea there is pregnancy safe medication.
I was also telling my partner I dunno how I would do this had I had a small child to take care of as well as I mostly just wanna be left alone in fetal position.
My fertility doctor said week 7&8 are the worst and it should tailor off by week 10. I sure hope that's the case for me and especially for you.
You're a champ doing this with a toddler. I really can't imagine being able to take care of anyone right now...
Ask for help!!! Xo

Shortmamashortcycles · 24/06/2021 16:52

Thanks everyone! I'll look into both places - definitely keen for a peace-of-mind scan. And thanks for the reassurance - so far, no more cramps or spotting today. Am working a volunteer covid vaccination shift so not much time to think or worry!

Oh @Noodella18, get some medication! There's no point suffering through it - there are no medals on offer! I hated the nausea first time round, and it took til 14 weeks to start feeling better. Hopefully your GP can sort you out.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/06/2021 17:29

@VixFromThe6ix ah you're so close to an ultrasound appointment now anyway! I know what you mean, I had a scan yesterday and was saying to my boyfriend 'oh a follow up scan is only £45, maybe I should go next week' I don't want it to become an unhealthy obsession!

@Noodella18 yes take the medicine!! Honestly I wouldn't hesitate, it sounds pretty debilitating. Can your husband prescribe for you, or do you have to speak to the GP?

@VixFromThe6ix I think I'm similar to you, sometimes nauseous, mostly I think it's caused by bloating and constipation as opposed to proper morning sickness. Like today I had to go to the dentist and the office, plus walk an hour and it made me feel so sick. Chilling at home with my laptop, not bad at all 😂

Noodella18 · 24/06/2021 18:12

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 @Shortmamashortcycles @VixFromThe6ix thanks guys. Is it lame that i feel a bit emosh that you're so encouraging?! I actually have some cyclizine upstairs from pregnancy number one. In the end I didn't take it then because it made me feel so sleepy and I needed to drive a lot, but now I'm wfh I think I will try it. Although my partner is a gp it's a huge no-no to prescribe to people you know. Even when I left my anxiety meds at home when we went on holiday I had to spend an hour on the phone to the surgery to get them to send the prescription to the local pharmacy!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/06/2021 18:21

@Noodella18 I'd have hoped prescriptions would have been a perk of being with a GP 😂 oh well. I've had cyclizine before (not pregnancy related) and found it rubbish for nausea. Actually made me feel sleepy and worse. Needed the ones a couple of rungs up to make a difference for me. So don't be afraid to go back and get better meds if it doesn't work well for you!

Noodella18 · 24/06/2021 18:46

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 aha ok good knowledge thanks! My father in law is coming to help with my daughter tomorrow so as soon as he's here I will pop one and see if it helps!

MgW1 · 24/06/2021 19:13

I cant tolerare cyclizine either , was given it after anaesthetic once and and I felt worse than ever ! Room was spinning for about 2 hours!! X

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 24/06/2021 19:25

My favourite one is Zofran, but it's expensive and they don't prescribe it much/easily

Noodella18 · 24/06/2021 20:07

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 did you try metoclopramide? I have a stash which I bought for hangovers when I was abroad. Was thinking I could try them and if they work then beg the doctor for some. Even if I could get a few hours break a day it would be such a relief.

Maddie020 · 24/06/2021 23:47

Thank you ladies Smile

So, I went to acupuncture today and lady has made me little worried as she was saying that there are chances that some woman may have empty sac... and now I don't know what to think... I have no symptoms at all apart from positive pregnancy tests and some cramps but they come and go ... helppp plssss HmmConfused

Shortmamashortcycles · 25/06/2021 04:54

@Maddie020, what a scary thing to hear! Why would she freak you out like that?! 😡

Try to ignore that - there's no reason to think that's you. Feeling normal except from a few cramps at this stage is... normal! It's pretty much how I feel (apart from my body deciding to wake up at 4.30am every day ugh).

You have positive pg tests and in a week or two could you book a reassurance scan? That will hopefully show a nice little bean growing away!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/06/2021 06:50

@Noodella18 I haven't tried that one! I used to use motillium for hangovers, but it's not remotely pregnancy safe.
Is your one pregnancy safe? Might have to look into it

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 25/06/2021 06:55

@Maddie020 that's crazy! Can't believe she's say that, she must know that'd worry anybody. Right now it will be a sac, at almost six weeks it should get a fetal pole with a heart beat, and then you should start getting more symptoms. It's normal to feel totally okay before then because hcg isn't super high. Ignore her.

Shortmamashortcycles · 25/06/2021 07:01

Ok so the bloating has arrived... don't remember this from the first time round - maybe my abs were better at holding it in before DD stretched them beyond all repair... 🙈
