I’ve just had an early scan….Baby is still there and seems to be doing well! Little heart beating away like a scared fieldmouse but I was assured that was normal! Date fits exactly with my OPK/BBT tracking, so 8w3d (LMP puts it at 9w today)

Early scans are nerve-wracking things, though, aren’t they! Arggghh

Off to work I go, feeling nauseous AF but at least reassured.

Baby’s father is still asleep and not replying to texts 🙄

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/06/2021 11:56

@ImpatientTTCer that's great news! Must be a relief.

Maddie020 · 26/06/2021 13:34
@Maddie020, what a scary thing to hear! Why would she freak you out like that?! 😡

Try to ignore that - there's no reason to think that's you. Feeling normal except from a few cramps at this stage is... normal! It's pretty much how I feel (apart from my body deciding to wake up at 4.30am every day ugh).

You have positive pg tests and in a week or two could you book a reassurance scan? That will hopefully show a nice little bean growing away!
Hey hun ... thanks a lot ... yes waiting for midwife's call now ... fingers crossed for everything xx

Maddie020 · 26/06/2021 13:34
@Maddie020 that's crazy! Can't believe she's say that, she must know that'd worry anybody. Right now it will be a sac, at almost six weeks it should get a fetal pole with a heart beat, and then you should start getting more symptoms. It's normal to feel totally okay before then because hcg isn't super high. Ignore her.
Thanks lot hun xx

ImpatientTTCer · 26/06/2021 17:47

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 it’s a relief for now…but I wonder how long I’ll last before wanting another scan to reassure myself again!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/06/2021 20:46

@ImpatientTTCer I had my scan a few days ago and already want another 🙈 think I'm supposed to wait two weeks between them or something, in which case I may as well wait for my 10 week nipt and scan

ImpatientTTCer · 27/06/2021 11:52

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 oh nooooo 😂 well at least I’m not alone then!

I suppose waiting two weeks between makes sense, it’s a lot of money….but still, anything could happen in those two weeks! Two of my best friends had miscarriages at 9w and 10w, so I’m completely on edge but trying to talk myself out of constant scans. If I can wait for the 12w, I will…but….probably not 🙄

Did they give you an estimated date/timing at the last scan? Was it 8weeks ish?

MissL85 · 27/06/2021 13:20

I’m 36 and pregnant for the third time. The first two ended in miscarriages at 5+2 and 4+1 back in 2017 and 2018 respectively. I’m not sure I believe it right now and convinced that I won’t see past 5 weeks. Currently 4 weeks and 4 days.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/06/2021 15:02

@ImpatientTTCer they did! I'm eight weeks tomorrow, they gave me the measurement and the heartbeat rate. I don't care about the money, happy to pay it for peace of mind, it's more that although ultrasounds are safe you're not meant to have too many close together or something in the 1st trimester? I had two at about five weeks, so the sonographer suggested I come again at just over ten weeks and have another scan and nipt

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/06/2021 15:05

@ImpatientTTCer I also measured a couple days further along than I thought, even though I temped so thought my dates were perfect

@MissL85 sorry about the losses, it's very stressful being pregnant again afterwards isn't it. Hope you're coping okay

CurlyNo2 · 27/06/2021 16:47

Hi everyone

You may (or may not) remember me from the Conception thread! I'm 37 and already have a 5 year old.

Anyway, today I finally got my BFP after 15 months of TTC baby number 2. I was on the verge on giving up hope and this little delight happened this morning.

It works out I'm only about 4 weeks. I can see some familiar names and I'm absolutely made up you all got your BFP also. I went offline around Xmas time as it was really affecting me and my husband so unsure where everyone is up too.

Curly x

Congratulations @CurlyNo2 what nice positive lines 😍

VixFromThe6ix · 27/06/2021 17:06

@MissL85 congratulations!! hang in there!!! Hope this one is a sticky bean! I've been in your shoes as well. Two miscarriages both at around 6 weeks and both empty sac. I was freaking out as 6 weeks approached for this one. But I went for ultrasound at 7 weeks and was told there is a fetus and a heartbeat there. For the first time !! It can happen, hope this is it for you 🤞💕

VixFromThe6ix · 27/06/2021 17:24

So when I was in for my 7 week scan, I had extreme bloating, burps, nausea and even puked a couple times. The doctor said it will get worse before it gets better and by 10 weeks it should get better.
I'm probably 8.5 weeks now and I have no nausea, still got bloating but it got more manageable.
I know symptoms fluctuate but is it normal that it got better this early?
Trying not to overthink...
My fertility doctor referred me to the ob at the hospital and my first appointment with him is all the way on July 12. And it's just a talking appointment where I tell him my history. They want me to do ultrasound following week (July 12) for my 12 week.
It feels like it's so far away... If I keep getting these mild symptoms all the way to then I'm having little confidence going in...
I'm just wondering why at 7 weeks I felt horrible and then at 8 weeks it got better... 😩

VixFromThe6ix · 27/06/2021 17:25

**I meant July 19 for my 12 week.

I hate that you cannot delete or edit messages here lol

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/06/2021 19:35

@CurlyNo2 congrats!!!

@VixFromThe6ix I looked up fluctuating symptoms because mine do also. It said that some women start to feel better when the placenta starts to take over, and this is between week 8 and week 11 and varies woman to woman. My symptoms are manageable also, I'll feel better for a couple days, then it comes back. Especially if I'm tired. Speak to your ob gym though, maybe you can get an earlier scan to put your mind at rest

VixFromThe6ix · 27/06/2021 19:52

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 that sort of gives me a bit of comfort ... Thank you. Maybe that's what it is. I did come off my progesterone at 8 weeks as well. Ugh just so nerve-racking isn't it... Not knowing. And this 5 week wait between ultrasounds is too damn long. I have not met the ob yet so I dunno if I should be asking for another ultrasound. At 11 weeks (July 11) I will meet him and he is supposed to listen to see if hears the heartbeat with one of those machines but the receptionist also said sometimes they don't hear the heartbeat and that it's ok. I dunno how I would feel walking away without hearing the heartbeat, so I pray he does hear it... Even if for my peace of mind

lennyunexpected · 27/06/2021 19:53

Hi @VixFromThe6ix, if it makes you feel any better, I completely convinced myself that I'd had a silent miscarriage as all my symptoms disappeared just before week 8 (nausea, bloating, swollen/sore boobs etc). I started a thread on here about it and even tried to book in for a private D&C because I was so sure it was over and didn't want to have to wait for extra confirmation scans when I already "knew" what had happened 🤦‍♀️ Had my 12 week scan last Wednesday and everything was fine - I'm even a few days further along than I thought. Honestly, you can get yourself in knots thinking the worst - I'm googling nothing from now on 😂

VixFromThe6ix · 27/06/2021 20:10

@lennyunexpected oh that's amazing!!! I hoping and praying that everything is ok with my bean. I think it's the fact that my doctor said it will get worse before it gets better and it didn't is what's making me think something is wrong.
I think those of us waiting for the rainbow baby are scarred from previous experiences and we get bent out of shape if it's not a by the book pregnancy.
I'm so so happy for you, though. Can't imagine how happy you were to learn all is well after you mentally convinced yourself it wasn't. Do you have your appointment to learn the sex of the baby? That's at 14 weeks, right?

lennyunexpected · 27/06/2021 20:16

@VixFromThe6ix I genuinely thought it was going to get worse too. That's what everyone says - it usually peaks at 9-11 weeks so I couldn't understand why mine wasn't. It's enough to drive you crazy but I'm proof it doesn't mean anything x

I don't want to know the sex. Years ago saw a lovely moment in One Born Every Minute where the mum said she wanted her partner to be the one that finds out first and tells her as she'll have experienced all the other firsts and I thought it was pretty sweet. If I'm lucky enough to make it to term, I'd like my partner to tell me x

VixFromThe6ix · 27/06/2021 20:25

@lennyunexpected that's really sweet :)
if we get there were haven't decided what to do yet. It's been such a hard road that maybe we should leave it to be a surprise for both of us.
I say this now though lol who knows how I would feel at 14 weeks 😂

Noodella18 · 28/06/2021 21:22

Just checking in. Congrats to the newcomers! Glad to hear your scan went well @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7

@VixFromThe6ix yeah I'd push for an earlier scan if you're worried. It could be totally fine, all women are different, but I totally understand the anxiety. What's the 14 week scan? I thought there was a 12 week and a 20 week and you found out the sex at the 20 week? Or earlier if you do NIPT.

I have been taking the cyclizine I had leftover from my last pregnancy and it's definitely taken the edge off the nausea. I still feel like shit and have to be careful not to get hungry, but I don't permanently feel on the edge of throwing up. I have uncomfortable reflux too, feels like a lump of bread stuck behind my sternum. Been taking omeprazole (again leftover from last pregnancy) but isn't helping!! I really hope I don't feel as fucking shit in the pregnancy as I did for the whole last one. Whinge whinge whinge sorry, I'm just struggling with the lack of control, I hate that I am trapped feeling shit for the foreseeable future :(

MgW1 · 28/06/2021 22:11

Hi
My symptoms have gone apart from sore boobs so I had a scan and everything was fine 😊 so pleased. Got another scan in 2 weeks. Got love island to take my mind off things now for a bit anyway 🤣

Shiftima · 29/06/2021 00:47

Mind if I join you?
I’m 40 soon and found out today that I’m pregnant. I’ve been on the pill for years with no issues but found myself pregnant a couple of months ago too. That ended in a chemical/early MC. No idea why my body suddenly hates the pill?
I already have DC and this pregnancy most definitely wasn’t planned. My OH is 13 years younger than me and not ready for DC yet.
I on the other hand, am I teeny bit excited at the idea of being a mum again. I think he will faint when I tell him!

M4v3r1ck · 29/06/2021 17:45

Hey ladies, sorry been awol for a few days!

Welcome and congratulations @MissL85 @CurlyNo2 @Shiftima 😍😍😍 got so much 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 for healthy happy pregnancies all round!!!

@ImpatientTTCer yay re: scan!!! 😍😍😍 how have you been feeling?

@MgW1 yay so glad to hear your scan went well too! 😍😍😍 what date are you now?

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 overall much better here, thanks! 😃 Still have the big sore boobs and my skin generally seems sensitive! How are you feeling and did you cave and book another appointment? 😃

@VixFromThe6ix amazing glad you got your appointments through! So much 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 My symptoms definitely fluctuated, and I believe this is very normal!

@Noodella18 omg you poor soul! 😳 I know I'm late to the party, but deffo contact your GP about this and get some more meds! It sounds like you have that extreme pregnancy sickness - there's a fancy name but I can never remember it, but I've definitely seen support groups on here about it! Maybe they could help/give advice?

Omg @Maddie020 I hope you're ok! I cannot believe they would say something like that! Did you speak to the midwife?

@lennyunexpected amazing! So happy to hear the 12-week scan went well! 😍😍😍

Hope I caught everyone there! 🙃🙃🙃 I've got my 12-week scan on Thursday so hoping and praying everything is ok! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Much love to you all! 😘😘😘
