Thanks @Gummybear17 scan went great. Baby was in an awkward position but the picture we got is so cool with Halloween coming up…

Catconfusion · 08/10/2021 18:59

@Gummybear17 glad your two are nearly out of isolation and you’re still negative.

We were shown between the legs but I couldn’t work it out. I read a girl looks like a hamburger and a boy like a turtle. Ours looked like an uncut burger bun so just a bulge. I guess it could be either. We booked a gender scan for two weeks time. Again the skull on this baby looks so much more dainty than ds so still wondering if a girl. Xx

Gummybear17 · 08/10/2021 20:13

@Catconfusion glad all went well! That picture is awesome! X

Catconfusion · 08/10/2021 21:34

Thanks @Gummybear17 we got a similar one with our son at the same gestation. That was just before Halloween too…

The skull shapes look so different. I’m even more convinced this one is a girl. We will see! Xx

Happy Sunday ladies! Hope you've had good weekends! 😃

@Pamparam I agree that the home birthing option sounds perfect for you! Everyone is different and you know best what will make you as comfortable and as relaxed as possible! 😃

@Catconfusion yay to scan!!! 😍😍😍 so glad it went well! yup I'm probably going against all sorts of old wives tales, although my bump is showing definitely like an "old wives tale boy"! 🤣 latest sweet craving for me has been ribena? I'm not even a ribena fan! Have you managed to get a physio appointment for your pain?

@Gummybear17 how are you and your family getting on? Hope it's not too much longer for isolation!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 how have you been keeping?

Hope everyone else is doing well! 😃

@M4v3r1ck Thank you, we’re so pleased. I hope you had a good Sunday. It’s interesting how different each pregnancy is. My bump with my son was such a stereotypical boy bump. His skull though looked like a little girl on ultrasound. Even the sonographer thought it was a girl before she looked between his legs. He just has a very round head.

I had a physio appointment on Friday. She’s given me an amazing bump support band that goes around the hips and under the bump. It’s made such a big difference. I can’t believe how big it is already. Xx

Hi, can I join this thread please? I'm a bit late to that party as I'm already 23 weeks - due early feb. I'm 39 and, overweight and full of weird symptoms that I didn't have with previous (younger and lighter) pregnancies.

Catconfusion · 12/10/2021 07:46

@zonedoutallnight welcome. I’m heavier than my last pregnancy. I’m finding it a lot more exhausting. What symptoms are you noticing? Xx

Gummybear17 · 12/10/2021 09:25

Welcome to the group @zonedoutallnight x

Gummybear17 · 12/10/2021 14:10

@Catconfusion I went to my midwife today and heard my little girls heartbeat. So reassuring to hear all is well. Got my 20/40 scan in 2 weeks so will be nice to hopefully see all is well too! X

zonedoutallnight · 12/10/2021 15:52

Thanks 😊 @Catconfusion I'm having some swelling in unusual places shall we say. My legs are fine but after being stood up all day yesterday I ended up walking like John Wayne!

I've got an extra scan this week too as I've had small babies in the past they are concerned that I may have restricted blood flow to my uterus so bit worried about that. Hopefully it will all be fine.

TillyDevon · 12/10/2021 17:27

Hello, I hope everyone is well and please may I join ? I am 42 and had first scan today (13 weeks).they said they weren’t meant to say so early but that were very clear a boy and all hopefully looked well

zonedoutallnight · 12/10/2021 18:58

@Gummybear17 and @TillyDevon good to hear things are going well for you both.

M4v3r1ck · 14/10/2021 16:49

Hey all, nearly the weekend! 🤪🤣

@TillyDevon welcome and congratulations! 😃 Glad your scan was good! How have you been keeping?

@Catconfusion fab re: physio! 😍 I've heard they're really good for support so tempted to phone them up as I get sore when out walking!

@zonedoutallnight welcome and congratulations! 😃 glad you're getting everything checked out as a precaution - when's your scan?

@Gummybear17 so lovely to hear heartbeat! 😍

I had my 28-week check in today - all good so 🤞🏻 it stays that way! Hearing the heartbeat is so amazing! Wish I could listen all day every day!

It was today. I have a "notch" in the scan of my right uterine artery, which basically means that the artery is allowing blood flow but that it's slightly restricted. The left artery is fine so it could be worse but it's enough of a concern that they're giving me growth scans every 3 weeks from 28 weeks.

On the bright side I got another look at the little one. Baby currently very happy and normal size but I think the concern is that as it grows and needs more from me that the blood supply might not be as good as they would like so might have to come out early.
It's a bit of a worry but as previous babies are now very healthy children (and it seems like this is a problem that would have been there the whole time) I'm staying positive at the moment.

TillyDevon · 14/10/2021 18:32

M4v3r1ck 28 weeks sounds an amazing stage to reach and how exciting about your heartbeat listen!

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 15/10/2021 10:03

@M4v3r1ck lovely your 28 week scan went well! That must have been lovely to see.

All okay here thanks, nothing much to report. On my trust we don't see any midwifes between 10 weeks and 29 weeks, so I've got another 4-5 weeks til my next appointment.... I might get a private scan too in another 2-3 weeks

zonedoutallnight · 22/10/2021 20:17

How is everyone doing? Glucose tolerance test for me this week. I get all the fun... hopefully it'll be an all clear though.

TillyDevon · 22/10/2021 20:56

I just had a letter which sounded reassuring on screening and feel we should tell our (much older) DC tomorrow but for some reason so terrified! It’s taken me so long to get my head round our surprise pregnancy myself and re our older two I hope I’m worrying about nothing as don’t even know how to approach it!! Eldest is 14. I think our youngest will be fine (hes 10 ) as he did say he wished we had a baby not that long ago but who knows if he meant it Grin
I’ll be excited when it’s in the open though as so thrilled and getting self conscious I’m looking bigger so it will be lovely as I’m normally so open about anything but I’ve been so nervous this time

It’s lovely to have other

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 22/10/2021 21:04

@zonedoutallnight hope it goes okay! Had mine today and made me feel pretty ill and wiped out. To extent had to cancel my dinner tonight and am currently in bed.

@TillyDevon good you've had positive screening and good luck telling the children.

Hope everyone's doing okay!

zonedoutallnight · 22/10/2021 21:07

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 sorry you felt ill after. Hopefully it wears off soon. Can I ask do you find out the results straight away or is it a wait for a letter/phone call? And what did they make you drink? I can't stand lucozade so hoping it's not that!

zonedoutallnight · 22/10/2021 21:08

@TillyDevon I've got older kids too and they reacted completely differently to how I predicted - happy though. Hope it goes well for you.

TillyDevon · 22/10/2021 21:21

Thanks zonedoutallnight. I’m glad they were ok and yes I just don’t know what to expect nor how excited to sound in case our eldest isn’t !! I do hope I’m worrying about nothing and she’s incredibly kind and close to us so it’s more that she might feel her world is being a bit rocked espec as so unexpected

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 22/10/2021 23:17

@zonedoutallnight no I'd have managed lucozade pretty well I think! It was a very very sweet oily syrupy drink, made me feel v sick trying to get it down, but also felt like a had a big sugar crash at work later - nausea, headache, dizzy, sweats etc. They said they'd only contact me if I had GD - a call next week
