@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’ve only had my first one now. I’m giving everyone distance now and trying to get people to stop hugging me.

I’ve terrified myself watching One Born Every Minute looking at CS! I’m pretty sure I’m going end up having one since my fibroid has gotten bigger and is in the worst position.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 26/08/2021 17:09

@Katiekattty honestly of the people I know that've had a c section, the scars are really small and neat, and they recovered a lot lot quicker than they expected

Catconfusion · 26/08/2021 18:14

@Katiekattty don’t worry about having a c section. I had my ds by elective due to being a big baby. It was a lovely experience. I wouldn’t say I ever experienced pain. It was uncomfortable at times but nothing major. I recovered really quickly and was home the next day. I will hopefully be having another elective this time. Xx

Catconfusion · 26/08/2021 18:17

Plus most of my external scar has disappeared in the middle. There’s only a tiny line on each side. The internal scar is tiny as well. When I had my scan, the sonographer commented on how neat it is Xx

Katiekattty · 27/08/2021 08:47

@Catconfusion @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’m hoping I relax about it by the time comes. Everyone I know has had good experiences.

Catconfusion · 27/08/2021 19:07

@Katiekattty it’s difficult. I mean having your stomach cut open shouldn’t be taken lightly. It is however a very controlled way of having a baby. Usually very straightforward. Obviously there are risks and some of those risks are scary but quite unlikely to happen. Obviously natural childbirth has some scary risks too but those are even rarer. It’s more things like tears and swelling etc that are can happen. I must say I liked being able to sit down ok afterwards and having my lady bits in tact. Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/08/2021 15:13

How is everyone?

@Catconfusion are you still really sick or is it easing at all?

Catconfusion · 28/08/2021 17:30

Hey @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 still sickly but thanks for asking. I’ve had a slightly better day today so I’m hoping it might be easing a bit. I think once the placenta takes over it can start to improve so fingers crossed no I’m at the 9 week mark it won’t be long.

I have a 10 week scan at the EPAU a week on Tuesday and then a week after that my 12 week scan at 11 weeks. So pleased I’m having it early so I can get the screening tests done early. At 42 it’s a bit of a worry.

How are you feeling? Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/08/2021 08:34

@Catconfusion good you've started to feel a bit better, and yes hopefully placenta attaches soon so you can feel even better!

I'm okay thanks, now getting awful constipation and acid reflux. The Gavin's on and tennis's aren't doing too much, but I wore my sickness wrist bands last night and think they helped a lot. That it it was a one off fluke 😅

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/08/2021 08:34

Sorry that was meant to read Gaviscon and rennies- autocorrect.....

Catconfusion · 29/08/2021 09:19

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I hope so because it’s been so debilitating.

I think the placenta takes over between weeks 8 and 10 by producing the hormones so less gets in the blood stream.

Definitely vomiting less but then I am on medication to help this. I have however had an awful nights sleep with stomach cramps. I think it’s bowel related to be honest. Also round ligament paint.

Sorry to hear you’re having tummy issues too. It’s really horrible. I’ve even tried omeprazole to help with the acid and it’s done nothing. I’m just putting up with it now. Xx

Katiekattty · 29/08/2021 10:44

Sorry you’re feeling bad @Catconfusion Omeprazole doesn’t do that much for me either. I’ve spent most of this pregnancy feeling rubbish. Yesterday is the first in so long where I had good day, all day. My digestion is so bad, I have really small meals that I have to time so I don’t spend days with indigestion. Counting down until I get to week 40.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I need shares in gaviscon at this point.

Catconfusion · 29/08/2021 11:00

It’s horrible isn’t it @Katiekattty I was really ill with ds but this pregnancy is whole new level. Started vomiting at 5 weeks. I did my first hpt at 8 dpo because I’d felt sick in the night. It was a bfp so this little baby burrowed straight in there and has been causing havoc ever since.

I hope your good day was a sign of things to come. I had a reasonably good day too. Today is not so great but hey ho, it’ll pass eventually. Xx

M4v3r1ck · 30/08/2021 10:41

Hey ladies, long time no chat! Sorry, I've been completely AWOL! Combination of things, but I am pleased to report that I'm currently 21+6 weeks at the moment. 😍 Still battling with general worrying about it all and trying to just breathe, be positive, and take each day as it comes! 😃 Symptoms have definitely eased off for me, and starting to feel wee reassuring flutters every day (😍), but hip pain is my main gripe just now.

Got my first vaccine dose and a midwife appointment this week, so hopefully those things will help ease my mind a bit! 😃🤞🏻

Hope you're all doing well and healthy and safe! 😘 I remember some of you having bad nausea/sickness!

@Catconfusion how are you doing today? I wasn’t so good yesterday. I went to strangest family Bbq and was starving had to stop McDonald’s before I went home and miracle of miracles I didn’t have indigestion.

@M4v3r1ck are you due 4th Jan too? I’m 21+6 as well.

Catconfusion · 30/08/2021 13:29

@M4v3r1ck congratulations on your symptoms fading and getting past 20 weeks. I hope the midwife appointment goes well. In my area there’s a midwife shortage so I won’t get a face to face until 28 weeks. Xx

Catconfusion · 30/08/2021 13:33

@Katiekattty I don’t know why McDonald’s goes down so well but it does. Sorry to hear you weren’t great yesterday. I had an awful day overall yesterday too. Today I’ve not been sick so I’ve had a bit more energy. It’s nice to feel a bit better but it makes me feel sad when I know tomorrow I’ll probably be back to square one. Xx

M4v3r1ck · 30/08/2021 14:09

@Katiekattty YES! We're pregnancy twins! 😍 How have you been keeping - did you have covid or did I misread that??? Also, were you in the process of moving last time I checked in? 🤔

@Catconfusion thank you! How far along are you? 😃 oh no, that's a bummer re: shortage. Do you have any numbers/contacts (for a central service) if you need to speak with anyone?

McDonald's is a universal cure all, isn't it! Want one now... 🤣

@M4v3r1ck I’m 9 weeks so a long way to go. I have a phone consultation at 16 weeks with the midwife and we’re under the EPAU so I might be able to get a scan at a similar time. I can also call as and when I need to. I’m just really going to miss the listening in to baby. I’m sure if I was really anxious I could get seen. I’m quite proactive with ringing up but I can imagine lots of ladies wouldn’t. It’s just worrying women are going so long without physical checks in our area. Xx

Katiekattty · 31/08/2021 12:39

@M4v3r1ck I did have covid and don’t recommend 😂😂😂. I’m finally feeling better, even had a friend commenting that I sound much better today. I lost all my first trimester weight gain and haven’t put on more than a pound since but also realised that I’m not eating enough. My digestion got even worse since covid. We’re still waiting on conveyancing to go through. Our buyers solicitor is completely useless, fingers x we should be exchanging next week.

Catconfusion · 03/09/2021 08:49

@Katiekattty so sorry to hear you’ve had Covid. It sounds like it upset your tummy more. I’m not sure whether to isolate as I have hyperemesis so I’m not sure what it would be like if I had Covid on top of it. I am double jabbed but I do worry. I’m supposed to go to a friends house for a gathering tonight of 4 people. All the others work in hospitals or are in and out of peoples’ homes. Not sure whether to go.

Is anyone else isolating or being extra careful regarding Covid? I saw a picture of a baby who’s had be ventilated because they were so poorly with Covid. It made me really worry about ds getting it. It seems to be in the community and still a threat yet people seem to be back to normal I.e. mixing socially. Xx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 03/09/2021 10:17

@Katiekattty sorry you've been so ill, glad you're feeling a bit better now.

@Catconfusion I'm not really, I'm back at work, and also at my sisters wedding today which is a big wedding. People are coughing but still coming, I'm staying in a big house with the wedding party, and no one has taken a lateral flow that I've seen. Feeling pretty uncomfortable, but too late to do anything about it, and I've only had one vaccine so far

Katiekattty · 03/09/2021 10:27

I’m waiting to do my second jab. I’ve said to everyone that I’ll be pretty much isolating when it gets colder and I need to be indoors more. Based on my experience I know I couldn’t have coped with covid in the 3rd trimester. I went to midwife after for my 16 week check and she used the Doppler and couldn’t find the baby heartbeat. She didn’t tell me that they aren’t that reliable so I ended up rushing off to the maternity unit. The baby was fine and I was going to be sent for a scan anyway because of covid and being so dehydrated even two weeks after. A friend of mine is double jabbed and she’s diabetic, she caught covid the week before me and still isn’t feeling 100% like me. I know it’s going to be a long winter but I’d rather not take the risk.
