Waters breaking stories

Currently 31 weeks pregnant with DC2 and I'm wanting to hear stories about how your waters broke🙈

I was started off with DD1 so never got to experience my waters going naturally as they were broken in the Labour ward. I'm excited for everything to go as natural as possible this time but I keep thinking about how and when my waters will go 🤣

Somone told me they mostly go at night time so if this is true I'll be home when it happens but does anyone else have any stories about how and when theirs went?

Thanks all 😁

I was trying to get to sleep when I felt mildly damp. I went to the loo had a wee but water just continued to poor out after I had finished weeing. Every time I stood up more poured out.
It was about midnight and my partner was asleep with ear plugs in as he is a light sleeper. It took a bit of shouting to get him to wake up and come to me... I didn't want to leak on the new carpet in the landing (priorities!)
All the maternity sanitary towels were packed and the only suitable thing I could find in the bathroom to put on was a flimsy freebie panty liner. Needless to say it was insufficient!!
I called the triage number and went in to be checked. If it does happen at home don't wear good shoes to go to the hospital! Every time I stood up or moved more it started leaking again.
They were going to examine me to see if it was my waters had gone but apparently the huge puddle I left on the bed when I stood to remove my underwear for the exam was good enough evidence!
I was 38+6 so the midwife got permission from the Dr to give me a sweep to get things moving and put me on the monitoring whilst she did this. The ctg monitor showed contractions by the time (I couldn't feel them) she returned so they didn't bother due to infection risk.
They booked me in for induction at 10pm that night (it was about 2 am at this point) and arranged to phone me at about 6pm for a progress report. Neither was needed in the end, by 3 am I could feel contractions. They were 3 in 10 and lasting over a minute each by 7am then I went to be examined and was 2cm. I was sent home with some cocodamol this was probably about 9.30. By 11 I couldn't cope at home and begged to go back in. Thankfully there was room in the mlu as I arrived fully dilated and gave birth within an hour of the call.

In hindsight I think the waters were broken earlier in the day as I had a brief sharp pain in my stomach and after that my stomach stopped being hard and tight but was soft and made a squelchy noise when pushed!

Mine went at 35 weeks. Totally unprepared and obviously wasn't expecting it. Just got out of bed in the middle of the night for a wee and felt a pop and a trickle.
