Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@spttc I don't know yet if we are going to share the sex with family and friends, but definitely I don't want to reveal the name until he or she is born. As you say it's nice to have a little secret just for us, in a time when everyone wants to know literally everything about this baby. Plus we might change our minds until the very end (even though we have quite a clear idea on names already) so I want to keep that door open ahaha

I am doing pelvic floor excercises, not in a structured way though just every time it comes to my mind, and with the pregnancy I think about it way more often than I used to! not sure if I need to do a bit more!

spttc · 13/07/2021 16:33

@EsseKey AGREED we are definitely not telling anyone about names! Mainly because I don't want opinions. People always have to stick their oar in 🙄🙄🙄 Until the baby is here nobody will know the name (we don't know ourselves yet and won't until she's here I'd say!)

Ok you're all motivating me re pelvic floor! I'm going to look into this! 💪🧐

I already had the NHS Squeezy app installed and finding out I was pregnant gave me the drive to start again. I was very good for a few weeks but have fallen off the wagon. I should start again!

expectinglittlebear · 13/07/2021 16:38

I agree with the name thing!! We are going to reveal gender once we have found out during our 20wk scan, but will definitely be waiting to tell the name until the LO is here!!

We have chosen quite unusual names, which I LOVE and I just KNOW we are going to get some comments one way or another haha! Also, I would be so so gutted if we told someone our name choices before the baby was here, and someone else pregnant and due before me decided to use it or something! We have had our names picked from like the first 6 months we were together, and have not told a soul ever since!! Grin

expectinglittlebear · 13/07/2021 16:39

I am definitely going to have to look into the keegel thing! Didn't even think of that yet !!

Loll84 · 13/07/2021 16:43

Hi all, is it ok to join? Just found this thread, due 14 Jan and had 1st scan today ❤ 37 so have been a bit worried but all good so far thankfully.

Has anyone had AstraZeneca jab whilst pregnant? I got pregnant in between 1st and 2nd jab, so delayed 2nd for now as not sure what to do with them generally not giving AZ when pregnant.

Also have a lot of people had NIPT? X

expectinglittlebear · 13/07/2021 16:50

@Loll84 Welcome and congratulations Flowers

Glad to hear your scan went well!

I personally haven't had any jabs yet, I am still on the fence but am erring on the side of waiting until baby is here to get my jabs.

I am 11+2 today, so my dating scan and screening tests are next friday 23rd at 12+6, so I will know after that whether I will be having a NIPT or not, so haven't had one yet x

spttc · 13/07/2021 17:07

@expectinglittlebear exactly! I really don't want anyone's comments about my child's name! I feel people are less likely to tell you they don't like it when you've already named the child & they're an actual live baby!

Welcome @Loll84 💕 I had my NIPT you probably read. I'm 35. So that was part of my reasoning like yourself I was worrying a bit! Congrats on your scan!!

I haven't had any jabs yet. I'm in Ireland. Here they don't give them to pregnant women before 14 weeks. And it's only Pfizer or Moderna. I know the advice Iv seen is if you've had 1 AstraZeneca you are ok getting the 2nd even whilst pregnant. I don't know what I'd do in your situation. As the day draws closer to getting my own vaccines I'm getting more nervous about it. The restrictions are much tighter here in Ireland than in the uk and infection rates are far lower so it's tempting to wait until baby comes. At the same time the thought of having to vaccinate the baby when it arrives with Covid jab isn't great. If I get it while pregnant the baby gets some immunity apparently. So I'm heavily leaning towards getting it.

Thank you @expectinglittlebear - congratulations to you too (and everyone else). Not long until your scan now 😍

I found it really surreal seeing baby actually there on the screen but moment was interrupted as sonographer sent me off for a wee as I'd gone overboard on the full bladder instruction 😂

A few people seem to have paid for private NIPTs I've seen x

sociallydistained · 13/07/2021 17:28

I’m telling a close friend tomorrow because she’s invited me out for dinner and I don’t see another chance of telling her… she never invites me out for evenings (she rarely gets a chance as has a pre schooler) so I’m a bit worried as to why she is and just hoping she has all good news (she is pregnant too) so I can share my news cause I know she’ll be absolutely over the moon. So I’m very nervous and excited!!

EsseKey · 13/07/2021 17:52

@expectinglittlebear ah I know how other people choosing the same name can be awful! I always had one name in mind for a girl, I think since I was in high school! It wasn't that common back then, and now it's like on top of the most popular girls name list! ughhh
I kind of changed my mind about that name just because of that, and it's sad because if I like one name I don't want to change it because of others.... but let's see! We have a few other strong name candidates anyway :D

@Loll84 welcome and congratulations! great that your first scan went well, how are you feeling? I bet you are over the moon! 😍
I haven't had a AZ jab, I was offered pfizer (not because of pregnancy, at the time I had just found out) but before even being offered that, I had decided that whatever jab I was going to get, I would have taken it!
The advice is to get the second AZ jab if you already got your first and then got pregnant...and in my opinion it's definitely worth it because COVID could be much worse, especially in 3rd trimester.
They are giving Pfizer/Moderna because of the existing evidence on safety, but there is no evidence to show that AZ would be more dangerous - it's just basically less data collected on AZ for pregnant women.
But in the end is always down to personal decision so it depends on what makes you feel better!

With regards to NIPT, I am going to do all screenings offered by NHS, and then decide if I want to investigate more depending on the results.

Tangfastic91 · 13/07/2021 18:41

Welcome @Loll84!

DH just got a negative LTF so we are go for 12 week scan tomorrow! Now that hurdle is over I can just worry about all not being well. The anxiety is unreal! Work (the project managers, only the owner knows and I asked her to keep quiet) just approached me about projects for Q1 and Q2 next year so I want to tell them NO! But waiting for the scan.

I'm really hoping I start to enjoy food again soon, I don't 'fancy' anything other than lemon mousse and I'm down to my last haha. Eating purely for stopping nausea sake and it's not fun. I sooo used to love my food!

thecapitalsunited · 13/07/2021 19:00

@Loll84 Congrats and welcome! I also fell pregnant between my first and second AZ jab and went ahead and had my second jab at 5 weeks. The recommendation is that you just have the second one. I had no side effects with my second even though I had chills and fatigue with the first. My midwife was pleased that I’d gone ahead with it.

Loll84 · 13/07/2021 19:42

Thanks for the welcome everyone and thoughts on vaccines - so nice just to chat through with others especially as we havent told anyone yet.

@thecapitalsunited others good to know. @Tangfastic91 oh no, you need more lemon mousse 😂 x

Ralala · 13/07/2021 22:30

Hi! I had Phizer at 8 weeks and due my second dose next week when I will be 16 weeks. No concerns for me with getting Phizer xx

expectinglittlebear · 14/07/2021 10:39

@Tangfastic91 Yaay glad you can still go as planned! Hope all goes well today Flowers

EsseKey · 14/07/2021 10:59

@Tangfastic91 please update us after your scan!! I am gutted that I am at home instead of looking at my baby in this exact moment 😭
I hope I can at least enjoy a bit of your excitement XXX

EsseKey · 14/07/2021 11:05

on another note, has anyone grandparents-to-be gone over the top already with baby stuff???

I just found out that my parents sent my partner's parents a box full of wine and a card with the picture of a stork carrying a baby, and a message saying something like "dear co-grandparents, we have something to celebrate!"
they never met each other and live 1000+ km apart!!!

I can't decide if it's cringe or sweet, probably both ahahah 🥰
and I am here still wondering whether there is actually a living baby inside me... 🤔

spttc · 14/07/2021 11:18

@EsseKey my parents don't know yet so no 😂 we havnt told anyone yet. I think that's why we havnt, it's almost like I'm clinging to the last few weeks of not being pregnant or a mother. Just being ME. I don't want every conversation to be about babies and then you know how people are quite condescending to pregnant women.....u eat anything and it's a craving, have an opinion or get annoyed/upset and you're hormonal 🙄 do anything to your home and you're "nesting". That kinda thing kills me 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

That was nice of your parents though bless them ❤️

Got called today for a scan tomorrow morning! Can’t believe it and my pure luck I don’t start work tomorrow until the afternoon! (Any other morning would of sent me into a blind panic). Very nervous now but excited and glad it’s so soon! (I’m 11+5)

EsseKey · 14/07/2021 11:34

@sociallydistained that's great! The wait that for us has been weeks long, for you it's just hours! So nice ❤️

@spttc honestly I am now regretting a bit telling them so early... I don't know why I thought it would not cause THIS MUCH excitement...maybe it's because I am effectively pregnant since January, with a MC in between so I think of this news as kind of "normal stuff" - my partner warned me, but I just wanted to get it out of my chest at least with my mum!

Luckily I don't feel any different treatment from the few people I have told it to...including my parents tbh, we haven't talked about the pregnancy much after I told them! Which is weird, given what they did ahahah
and also I don't expect a lot of different treatment from other friends, when they told me they were pregnant I don't recall talking only about pregnancy and babies for the entire time...or maybe I didn't notice? we'll see 😄

I think I will fully enjoy everyone's excitement after the 12 wk scan!

sociallydistained · 14/07/2021 11:38

I’d been checking the post daily for a letter and being disappointed so I was a bit shocked with the phone call!

spttc · 14/07/2021 11:48

@EsseKey my mum is a NIGHTMARE for it 🤣 I vividly remember her carry on throughout my sister in laws pregnancies. I even said to her at the time..... if u go on like that to me I will hit the roof....and it won't be because I'm hormonal 😂 So maybe I'm just basing it on that.

I was going to tell a few later this week but as the time draws near I'm changing my mind. For my best friend it's Friday or august/September as I won't see her until then (she lives abroad) it's a toughy
