Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

Very jealous of the 11 week easing people. I think my nausea has been worst in the 11th week, really hoping it gets better soon. Struggling to focus on work at times!

EsseKey · 13/07/2021 09:47

@Tangfastic91 so sorry to hear about your nausea! I really hope it will get better very very soon !!!

I am no longer having the scan tomorrow Sad Sad Sad due to the contact with my partner who is COVID positive...even though we are isolated from each other now and I have a negative PCR and LFT and no symptoms, I still have to self isolate until the 20th
So I had to re-book my scan for next wednesday 21st.... so frustrating!!!

Tangfastic91 · 13/07/2021 10:36

@EsseKey oh nooooo!! So sorry you had to rebook. Hoping you stay covid free and get release from house arrest for next week.

I have everything crossed that my DH gets a negative LTF tonight. No reason to expect he won't, but it would certainly be a spanner in the works!

EsseKey · 13/07/2021 10:47

@Tangfastic91 thanks! I am isolating within my own house (thank god we have enough space) so that at least we don't share bedroom and bathroom and we don't sit too close during meals...the house is super cold because we have windows open all the time ahahah
it's weird but I hope it will help me to remain covid free/symptom free!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow, let us know how it goes!

Alle1991 · 13/07/2021 10:52

I started showing COVID symptoms on Saturday. Done 3 lateral flow tests all negative but went for a PCR test yesterday as I’ve got my scan on Thursday. I’m praying it comes back clear and it’s just a general cold

spttc · 13/07/2021 11:05

Oh no @EsseKey 🙈🙈🙈 how frustrating! At least it's just a week although I know it feels like an eternity 😣 Hopefully you stay Covid free and he recovers quickly. You aswell @Alle1991 🙈 This Covid thing is so insane isn't it. I think it will be years until we see the back of jt. Are you all vaccinated & your partners? or no? Im not yet.

In good news.... i got my NIPT Panorama Test Results back!! All clear, healthy baby, low risk all round ❤️❤️❤️ And we know the gender, we are over the moon so excited 😍😍😍😍

....its a girl 💞🌸🎀💖💕

@spttc amazing news!! Did you go private for that?

EsseKey · 13/07/2021 11:15

@Alle1991 ah so sorry to hear that! Fingers crossed it's not COVID!

Both my partner and I got the first dose of vaccine...I was booked in for a 2nd dose this Friday, but I have rearranged it for next week. So far I am negative and no symptoms, he is positive with just some fever, but the other person involved in the same outbreak (not vaccinated at all) is feeling very poorly...

@spttc oh my god how exciting!! congratulations for your happy healthy baby girl!!!

spttc · 13/07/2021 11:21

@Tangfastic91 yes I paid for that test. I was in 2 minds about it, but they offer it as standard at my clinic & my consultant said she had it for her pregnancies and got great comfort from it so I decided to do it. You don't have to learn the gender, you tick a box yes or no on the form when they draw the blood. We wanted to know though. I can start dreaming now 😂💕💞💖🎀They phoned me this morning to let me know the baby was healthy & low risk...then sent me the report my email so my husband and I could open it together to see the gender....which we did 💕💖 or some people like to give it to a cake maker or whatever for gender reveal parties etc! This is a cropped summary of the report I got. So there's a less than 1 in 10,000 chance of any of the abnormalities. It's reassuring definitely. It's so weird finding out the gender. My husband was 100% convinced it was a boy. I was until about week 8 and then changed my mind.

@EsseKey god that is rotten luck. At least you are both on the way to being fully vaccinated. And thankfully your partner isn't too unwell.

Thank you it's very exciting, and surreal! 😊

Wow @spttc that is so cool to find out this early. I think I'll stick with NHS screening for now but if anything looks suspect then I may well go for this!

spttc · 13/07/2021 11:40

@Tangfastic91 yeh I might be wrong but I think the NHS offers this test free or does it? I'm in Ireland, the HSE (our version of NHS) doesn't offer it free. Unless you are deemed to be really high risk I think.

@spttc That's amazing news, congratulations!!! xxx

EsseKey · 13/07/2021 11:47

@spttc it's fun how you randomly convince yourself about the sex of the baby... I have spent most of my life thinking of myself as a mum of a girl, for no reason really it was just in my mind. Then all my friends had boys and now it's kind of weird to imagine that mine could be a girl!

Now we gave the baby a stupid nickname which is a twist on my partner's dad name (which won't be the baby's real name!), so we keep picturing him as a boy 😂

spttc · 13/07/2021 11:59

@EsseKey same!! My husbands name is Matt. This child has been "Matt Junior" since before it was conceived 😂😂 we occasionally say Matilda for a girl. 🤣 we never intended to call it either name obviously. But like you said a funny placeholder name. My whole life I have always wanted a girl. I have 4 nieces though and no nephews, there's no boys in the family so in a way I think we fancied having the first boy. But deep down....I'm delighted it's a little daughter 💞 you start thinking of wedding dresses and the likes 😂 getting a bit ahead of ourselves. I'm glad we did find out as I think we had sort of assumed it was a boy so it would have been a shock & this way I think my husband in particular can start picturing a little daughter & liking the idea. It's definitely a weird feeling as there's pros to both genders and we genuinely would have been happy with either so in one way I feel we are mourning our son who never existed while celebrating our daughter 😂🙈

@expectinglittlebear thank you 💖💕

The funniest story that my partner's parents love to tell is that they didn't find out his sex until he was born, and for some reason they were 100% convinced he was a girl! They bought everything in pink.... and he spent the first few days of his life in pink dresses and nappies 😂
honestly I don't care for gender specific colors but this story kind of makes me feel even more that I want to know the sex, just to avoid making wrong assumptions on the little person I am going to meet when I give birth :)

Tangfastic91 · 13/07/2021 12:50

@EsseKey that's hilarious! I guess even some people who do find out buy all the stuff to realise there was a mistake ha.

I'm so undecided about finding out! I think I'm gonna flop back and forth until the 20 week scan.

expectinglittlebear · 13/07/2021 13:12

Just got a call from the midwife to say that my booking bloods have been lost in transit Hmm So looking like I have got to have them done again! So annoying, especially as I am not great with needles!!

spttc · 13/07/2021 13:56

@EsseKey my parents were the same. Determined their first child was a girl. My brother! Totally determined. Had him named my name and all 😂 they had to put that on hold obviously til I came along. They hadn't really bought anything gender specific I don't think but they were fully prepared for their baby girl until the day itself 🙈🙈

@expectinglittlebear oh no! I'm not a fan of needles either. That's so annoying!!

@Tangfastic91 yeh its a personal thing. Some want to some dont. My thoughts are..... when people say "I want it to be a surprise"....i don't get it! Because it was a surprise this morning! We're elated & delighted. We can prepare, we know it's a little girl, we can think of names etc etc. I feel after pushing a baby out on the day I won't be feeling....you know what this occasion needs....a bit of excitement & surprise, it's all a bit dull 🙄😂 I just feel on the day itself we won't be lacking in excitement. I'd prefer the excitement before and then the excitement on the day of actually having a real life baby will be quite enough 😂 But I know others don't feel that. To each their own!

I really hope I get my scan date soon! I just want to know how far away it might be and when I can tell some people 🙈

Keep finding myself in situations where people say comments about having kids or not and as my stance has always been I’m not planning to I have to keep it up lol. Literally a situation today where someone asked me (conversation was related) and my friend who knows my precious stance on kids said “haha shes not having any” and I’m sat there pregnant 😂 I just sort of laughed it off. Would love to of said in that moment “well actually!!” For the shock value lol.

sociallydistained · 13/07/2021 14:59

PS. Is anyone keeping up with their keegals. I got over paranoid looking into it and ended up ordering some weights 😳 I want to give myself every fighting chance down there 🙈

spttc · 13/07/2021 15:11

@sociallydistained lol about the keegals 😂😂😂 I'm not that organized. I'm just trying not vomit at people. I work with my dad so I think he knows 🙄 very loud vomiting at times....oh well. He hasn't said a word about it.

Yeh I know what you mean about the comments.....and people keep trying to make plans.....my friends were on about Las Vegas for New Year's Eve yesterday 😂 trying to get me to book! I'll be 8 months pregnant! 🙈😂 I think I might tell a few this week. I feel more secure after my test results. And I'll be 11+5. So close! My friend is here visiting from the uk and after Friday I won't see her until august/September depending on Covid etc. But I can't tell her without telling my parents so it's all or nothing! I won't tell them the gender....that's mine & my husband's little secret 🤫 💕

OP posts:
Tangfastic91 · 13/07/2021 15:46

@spttc a very valid point about the surprise haha. So at the moment I am swayed towards finding out and keeping it a secret from all the people who chose not to find out the sex of their kiddos and made be buy grey. Petty payback Grin.

I've promised myself that tomorrow if this baby is healthy/viable that I'll pay for the pelvic floor exercises app and will really give it a good go haha!

spttc · 13/07/2021 16:08

@Tangfastic91 LOVE IT 😂😂😂 Love a bit of petty! There's something nice about having a secret though isn't there. yeh we aren't telling anybody the gender for a bit. Maybe closer to 20 weeks. Will be hard as we are so excited! It's like suddenly she's a little person 🎀 We're going to keep it just for us right now though. Then we think we will have a really small gathering of just parents & siblings, nieces and very close friends. We might do the popping balloon reveal just because I know my little nieces will LOVE it. Will make it more exciting for them 💖🎉

I need to look into pelvic floor stuff too & just get back into exercise in general. I can't wait to feel better & have my energy back. Apparently you're more likely to have sickness with girls and for longer. I'm not sure how based on science that is but I'm feeling foul! 😂🙈
