@expectinglittlebear hope the drugs work for you.

The nausea is really getting me down now, I stupidly thought it would be tapering off (I think I'm 11+3) but actually it's been the worst this week. Have avoided actually being sick though so far. But yesterday was the first time I had to go have a lie down and couldn't work through it (I WFH luckily). Hoping that was just a blip after a poor night sleep and that things improve from here Confused. It's just exhausting being constantly aware that you don't feel quite right, no reprieve other than sleep even if it's mild.

EsseKey · 09/07/2021 09:23

@expectinglittlebear so sorry to hear about your symptoms, I really hope the drugs work for you!

@Tangfastic91 I hope things improve for you too!

I am 11+1 and my nausea has improved significantly, although it's not gone completely, and it's worse in the afternoon/evening.
and I am sleeping so much!!!

sociallydistained · 09/07/2021 11:10

I’m 11 weeks exactly today and my nausea has died down although seems to get me just before dinner time when I don’t fancy eating at all… I still manage though lol.

My diet has been really shocking and I am feeling so yucky in general. My stomach feels massive and it’s not the baby!! Lol. Mostly. I’m pretty sure there is something forming there but otherwise it’s bloat and weight gain! But still craving mostly carbs.

My work meeting never happened! There was no official date or time for it but my anxiety around it got really bad yesterday when I realised it wasn’t happening then. I got completely overwhelmed about everything I need to do before baby arrives and not knowing about my job and broke out in a big neck rash!! Blush. I have calmed down a lot since as I know it’s no good to be stressed!

Dolly0706 · 09/07/2021 12:19

@sociallydistained I’m just gone 12 weeks and my nausea is the exact same! It’s nowhere near as bad as it was but just hits before dinner.

As for the diet I could have written that myself. I feel gross, have put on weight everywhere! I definitely have a little bump but it’s covered in bloat too. I normally would be a gym goer but haven’t had the energy since week 6, have barely managed a walk. My diet also has consisted of chips, crisps and bread!

Really hoping second trimester the food aversions and nausea disappear and I can start eating a lot better and doing some gentle exercise, because if I carry on the way I am for 9 whole months I’ll not be able to move lol.

That’s awful you’re feeling so stressed about the job, sometimes you just can’t control it even if you know it’s not good for baby. Hope you get the situation sorted asap

Tangfastic91 · 09/07/2021 12:47

Solidarity with the beige diet crew. Im honestly about to turn into a loaf of bread. Buttered toast has saved me on far too many occasions to be healthy! That said, I've been eating satsumas like they're about to go extinct.

sociallydistained · 09/07/2021 13:32

Just had tomato and lettuce in my white cheese sandwich … progress!!

EsseKey · 09/07/2021 13:57

I have for some reason turned to raw carrots and pickles! I used to love pickles as a kid but I hadn't eaten one in so many years! Now I am at the second jar in a week....so so so weird!!!
I just think that at least there's something else other than bread and cookies....

spttc · 09/07/2021 17:34

@expectinglittlebear I'm on Cariban tablets. 4 a day. I'd spell out the drug name but there's multiple and all are very long 😂 I'm sure it's similar to yours. without them I was essentially vomiting all day every day. Maybe 20-30 times daily so at one point there was blood as my stomach/throat was so irritated from all the gagging. Since week 8 I'm on those & I maybe get sick once a day now especially if it's close to the time I need to take a tablet. Without them I 100% would be off work sick!

Finally had my booking appointment finally at 11 weeks this morning. All seems fine and will get scan date hopefully this week… the scans are currently being done miles away which is a pain though.

So was there well over an hour and then midwife went to get something and her computer logged her out and everything was deleted Blush no way I was sitting through all of that again 😂 wrote down some key details for her to key in. Luckily most my answers were no so hopefully shes got everything 🤦🏻‍♀️

thecapitalsunited · 11/07/2021 17:32

@sociallydistained My midwife text me the next day with some follow up questions so if yours has your number that might be why she was comfortable just making a few notes. I was a bit Confused about the midwife ending the text with a ‘x’ though 😂

sociallydistained · 11/07/2021 17:49

Mine is going to ring tomorrow to book in my 16 week and she said would ask anything that was missed lol

SouthwestSis · 11/07/2021 19:19

I made it to 12 weeks and the second trimester is in sight! 4 days until my dating scan and so excited for my husband to see little one on screen :D

Tangfastic91 · 11/07/2021 19:30

@sociallydistained glad you're finally booked in after all that faff!

@SouthwestSis I cannot wait for this nausea filled trimester to be over. As they say, sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Really feeling for those of you with vomiting! The nausea has been bad enough. Wishing everyone a reprieve by week 14!!

Have my scan on Wednesday this week, can't remember who was my scan day buddy but sending best wishes to all those with scans this week xx

expectinglittlebear · 12/07/2021 15:16

I finally kept down a cup of tea, and it feels amazing haha!!

I haven't been able to drink tea (or anything with milk in for that matter) for weeks now. Since finding out I was pregnant I only limited myself to two cups a day (well within caffeine limit) but haven't been able to keep any down for weeks so just gave up!

Its the little things Smile

Not sure if it is the anti-sickness tablets doing their thing, or the fact my symptoms are easing, as 11+2 today so slowly but surely getting to the end of the 1st tri!!

expectinglittlebear · 12/07/2021 15:17

Also, my dating scan is next Friday 23rd when I will be 12+6 and it can't come quick enough!!! Luckily the past few weeks have flown by!

Can't wait to see little one again, but actually looking baby-like this time!

spttc · 12/07/2021 15:36

@expectinglittlebear my hospital scan is fri 23rd aswell! I'm 11+1 today. I just can't wait to see the back of the first trimester! So over the tiredness & sickness!

@Tangfastic91 it's me! I am your 12wk scan buddy!! :) :) :)

I am actually a bit concerned because my partner tested positive for covid during the weekend, he has been isolating and I have been isolating from him because I don't want to miss that appointment! So far I have all tests negative and no symptoms, but I am so stressed about it! I was also going to have the 2nd jab on Friday, honestly I don't mind postponing that but I really want to go to the scan!

I am pleased to hear that your sickness is getting better @expectinglittlebear , hang in there I am sure it will be even better in a few weeks or even earlier! X

Tangfastic91 · 12/07/2021 17:04

Oh hiii @EsseKey I should have remembered. That's awful news about your partner, I really hope you don't end up with a positive LTF or symptoms. Going to test my DH on Tuesday Eve in the hopes it's negative and he can come with. We work from home and generally socialise outdoors so hope it will be fine, but it seems like everyone is catching it at the minute!!

EsseKey · 12/07/2021 17:10

@Tangfastic91 yes it would be a real joke for me, i work from home too and I have limited social interactions to a minimum... But he works with clients and despite all precautions, it can happen!
Really keeping my fingers crossed that I wasn't exposed long enough to get a positive, I want to see my baby! 😭

Kayl23 · 12/07/2021 19:42

Hey everyone,

Is anyone else finding that their symptoms are easing up? I'm 11+1 today and for the last four days I've had no physical symptoms whatsoever. My boobs are still much bigger and I can see more blue veins but they feel fine. I've got my energy back and haven't had any nausea either. I don't know whether I should feel relieved or concerned though, I liked having the symptoms as it meant things were going well so now that I don't seem to have any I'm getting worried xx

EsseKey · 12/07/2021 19:55

@Kayl23 I am 11+4 and very similar to you!

spttc · 12/07/2021 20:13

@Kayl23 I'm 11+1 too. I still feel rotten!! 🤮 I'm jealous. No I wouldn't be concerned. My consultant said that usually (not always of course) symptoms peak week 9-10 & then start to taper off. They can also cons and go so enjoy the break from feeling crap. I'm sure everything is fine! 💯

I’m the same as you started feeling better in general about a week ago. Midwife told me yesterday that’s expected now when the placenta takes over and was encouraging me to get back to my old exercise regime Shock lol. I would if I wasn’t still tired all the time. Not quite as much as I was but I still need to go to bed early lol.
EsseKey · 12/07/2021 20:46

@spttc yes I am feeling better, I haven't experienced nausea over the weekend and also energy levels are improving!
I hope it stays this way...
Definitely don't lose hope, this is a phase and it will end soon! 💪
