Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@Jonesy88 great news :)

ShaSha13 · 26/06/2021 14:57

@1sttimemumn where have your cramps/pain been? I have had some aching where I think my kidney is, left hand side! It’s too high up to be the baby itself and the doctor thought the same. Had a urine sample and blood sample but both came back fine. I’m about 9weeks today and had a scan on Monday just there (NHS reassurance one due to mmc in March this year). Scan was all fine and baby is okay too. The doctor had mentioned that hormones can do strange things to your body and thinks the aches have been due to constipation and gas, or changes to the digestive system. Weirdly enough, I think that’s exactly what it is! I would just be interested to see if the area of soreness is the same as mine as I feel like nobody else has experienced what I have 🙉

@Jonesy88 so glad to hear that your scan went well 💖

I had actually joined this group last month but hadn’t even noticed the email notifications 🙉

sociallydistained · 26/06/2021 15:40

@ShaSha13 I have pain/twinges in my right kidney. It was one of the first things for me and I actually went for a blood test at the doctors for it before I found out I was pregnant. It it still flares up from time to time now and this morning weirdly my left has started which has worried me as not had it there yet.

I just hope all is well at my early scan tomorrow. I have many worries!

ShaSha13 · 26/06/2021 16:01

@sociallydistained yours sounds like mine! It’s the strangest thing and I thought I was the only one! I was so worried about it but since the clear urine and blood tests, I do think it’s when I’m gassy/constipated and once that clears, it seems to be fine. Also seems to worsen when I have spicy food. My fingers are crossed for you for your scan tomorrow 💖 How far along are you? I get worried at any slight pain or twinge which is why I was worried when my side started but as soon as the doctor said it’s too high up for so early on, it made me slightly less worried as I hadn’t thought about it that way x

sociallydistained · 26/06/2021 16:04

Thank you! I will let you know how it goes! Yes I’ve had constipation and all sorts going on and all this before I found out, I thought I was falling apart! According to LMP I am 9 weeks today so we are literally the same :)

GoldenSun1 · 26/06/2021 16:08

Great to hear that your scan went well @Jonesy88

Yorkiemum89 · 26/06/2021 18:56

I still haven't heard anything about a booking appointment after a self referral at 5 weeks (am about 9 weeks now)... feel like I need to chase it up but don't wanna be a hindrance! Just worried I filled it in wrong or didn't press send properly on the form as the website was a bit buggy! Have most people heard now? x

ShaSha13 · 26/06/2021 19:15

@Yorkiemum89 I contacted the midwives using a number my GP gave me. I phoned them at week 4 and they phoned me back at week 5, said someone would be in touch at week 8. My now allocated community midwife phoned me on Wednesday there and my booking appointment isn’t until week 12! Hmm I’m currently 9 weeks today too. I would maybe give them a phone if you’ve heard nothing at all, just in case the website hasn’t worked x

sociallydistained · 27/06/2021 11:34

Back from my early scan this morning and pleased to report baby is measuring exactly as planned at 9 weeks 2 days and saw a flickering heartbeat and was all very emotional! They have my due date at 28th Jan.

Tangfastic91 · 27/06/2021 13:47

Really pleased for you @sociallydistained :)

Alle1991 · 27/06/2021 14:07

@sociallydistained wonderful news! I think we might share the same due date. I decided not to get an early scan in the end, got a date for my 12 week scan yesterday. 18 days and counting

ShaSha13 · 27/06/2021 14:07

Fab news @sociallydistained Smile

thecapitalsunited · 27/06/2021 14:23

Great news @sociallydistained! It really is a wonderful moment to see that tiny flickering heartbeat isn’t it?

sociallydistained · 27/06/2021 15:05

Thank you everyone! Yes it was really incredible to see the heartbeat feels very much real now.

@Alle1991 that’ll be exciting if we share a due date.

Yorkiemum89 · 27/06/2021 15:54

@ShaSha13 thank you! Will contact them tomorrow then 😊

@sociallydistained congratulations!! Lovely news x

sociallydistained · 27/06/2021 19:40

Now I’ve had the scan and feel relieved about that I am suddenly panicking about our living situation. So much to think about and do. Trying not to stress because that is not helping the baby but it’s hard not to 😩

Jonesy88 · 27/06/2021 19:52

Congrats @sociallydistained! It’s so much easier said than done to be stress free! I swear the hormones are making me anxious, I’m normally a glass half full person.

sociallydistained · 27/06/2021 19:59

Wish I had a set up ready for the little one but it was a shock and so I’ll have to do the best I can before he or she arrives. I do know id do anything for that little thing and hopefully that’ll power me through. I have a masters to complete too so it’s all very daunting but I do have faith it’ll be okay 😬

Not sure if any of you have told anyone yet but I’ve had to tell two close people to me today as I’ll need help with the upcoming appointments and I have cried everytime even with my friend who I didn’t think I’d cry with at all! I am now worried about telling work and crying and making a scene 😩🤦🏻‍♀️ Hopefully I’ll get all of the crying out in the next few weeks. I hate that feeling of not being able to control my emotions lol

1sttimemumn · 28/06/2021 08:53

Hi @ShaSha13 I’m glad your scan was all fine!! My cramps were really low down. I also think mine were dilute to the same cramps and contipation but it was honestly excruciating! How are you feeling now? Mine have eased so much the last few days touch wood. I’ll be ten weeks Thursday. I have been taking lactulose every night and I think that’s helped , only a small amount about 10ml. And was using windeze and rennies too. I feel your pain though it’s absolutely horrendous! Xx

1sttimemumn · 28/06/2021 08:54

@Jonesy88 so pleased to hear everything was well on your scan x

expectinglittlebear · 28/06/2021 09:53

Morning girls!

Sorry I have been a little quiet, went away on holiday last week. Just catching up on all the thread.

I had my booking appointment last week with the midwife over the phone, all went well and they are actually dating me a day more than I thought I was. So I am 9+2 today rather than the 9+1 on my original dates, so updated due date of 29th January! Got my first hospital appointment this Thursday for the booking bloods etc, and had a letter through the post confirming my dating scan as Friday 23rd July when I will be 12+6, and booked in for the NT screening tests on the same day.

Symptom wise, the tiredness is very much still there, but the nausea, oh the nausea.... its relentless. At first it helped it subside if I ate something, but now its just 24/7 whether I am hungry or full. Ginger biscuits no longer really helping, so I have ordered some of those sickness wristbands which should arrive today, hoping that will help!!

How have all of you been? How did all your early scans go? xx

ChelleV · 28/06/2021 15:03

@sociallydistained I'm busy doing my PhD and about to have my review, so I know how you feel.

Look up local groups in your area and other stuff on FB marketplace. You'll find decent stuff going cheap. Just not advised to get stuff like car seat secondhand. For the first few months they're not very aware and you'll have time to get a lot of the stuff too, you don't need all the toys and gadgets before they arrive. You've got months yet, you'll be fine!

ChelleV · 28/06/2021 15:04

@expectinglittlebear it sounds like a busy time for you, all happening at once! I'm having bloods etc done when I go to the scan and my booking over the phone tonight, so much simpler.

My nausea has subsided quite a lot but it just surprises me randomly through the day. If it's any consolation, bad morning sickness is usually a positive indicator!

Wow a PHD! Gulp! I have to remind myself I would of found it stressful now matter what so just to crack on. Not sure where to start on my dissertation full stop!

I am quite confident about the babies stuff I’m not worried about that. I’ll be happy to trawl fb marketplace for most things. I’m going to get a sling and a new car seat. I’m mostly financially worried about our living situation and I will need to try and get a new mortgage immediately really as they won’t let me on maternity pay or if they know im pregnant. I live in a tiny one bedroom flat which I own but my partner rents and I really want to get a bigger place and not have to rent. I’m going to meet with a mortgage advisor as one of my first jobs.

EsseKey · 28/06/2021 15:31

Hello everyone! Weirdly enough I didn't get any notification in the last few days, I was surprised by the thread being so quiet!
I am so pleased that those who had an early scan saw a nice happy baby, that's just wonderful 🥰
I had the result from my blood and urine tests, all clear, so now just waiting for the 12 wk scan in a couple of weeks!

I read that someone was experiencing bad cramps but they were most likely due to intestinal bloating or similar - just curious, was it not clear to you whether the pain was from your uterus (similar to period cramps) or your intestine? Just asking because for me it is very clear when it is one or the other, but maybe you were experiencing something completely different that might happen to us in the future? (i think it was @1sttimemumn
And @ShaSha13?)

About my symptoms, I am still constantly tired but my nausea is not as bad as before at the moment, after the peak from last week. Hopefully it won't come back because it was horrible!
