Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

Hi all, just caught up on all new messages on the thread! I’ve been a little quiet as the sickness has just been awful! I’ve called the doctor but they wont speak or see me until 30th June which is just too long! Today I feel better! Have our early scan Thursday!

Also I’ve finally booked my jab for 30th June so hoping it is all okay but just worried about it all as there is a lot of scaremongering posts and it’s all new but hopefully will be fine! I’m glad others have said that they are worried makes me feel a bit more at ease that I’m not worrying for nothing

EsseKey · 15/06/2021 17:43

@OttilieKnackered that's such a good news I am pleased to hear that the pcr was negative! :)

OttilieKnackered · 15/06/2021 17:56

@spttc @EsseKey thanks both, it’s a huge relief. @Fraanne it’s very natural to worry, but to reassure you I had my first Pfizer at 4 weeks and had nothing but a slightly swollen arm. 2nd go I will be 16 weeks

Fraanne · 15/06/2021 18:33

@OttilieKnackered that’s really good to hear! Hoping that’s all I get with it 🤣 I’m not sure it can make me feel much worse than I have been this week!

Jonesy88 · 15/06/2021 18:46

@OttilieKnackered I hope everything works out for you.

I scared myself a bit today as I picked up a hibiscus iced tea from Starbucks because it looked really refreshing. Had one sip and googled it as I’m not really sure what hibiscus is - turns out it’s not recommended to be drank in pregnancy (although the nhs isn’t that detailed). £3 down the drain! I don’t feel too anxious as google also said you’d need large quantities to do damage and even then it could be fine. What a minefield!

Jonesy88 · 15/06/2021 18:53

Just double posting to say I had the vaccine at 3 days pregnant, I just didn’t know it at the time obviously. My 2nd is booked for the beginning August when I’ll be 14ish weeks fingers crossed. I think I’m going to have it but I reserve the right to change my mind - I think I’m going to trust the midwife recommendation.

Yorkiemum89 · 15/06/2021 20:00

I had my first AZ dose before I fell pregnant and was due to have my second one on Sunday just gone (I'm currently 7+2 like a lot of us here!).

Well, the site I went to said it wasn't their policy to vaccinate pregnant women under 12 weeks at the moment due to the lack of research. Luckily they had a midwife on site to speak to and she just encouraged me to rebook my second dose after the first trimester. There is no right or wrong at all (and she was very adamant that there is no evidence to prove that the vaccination is dangerous in the slightest) but that was just my experience of what was said to me. This is probably due to it being AZ rather than Pfizer or Moderna which is the preferred vaccine for pregnant women.

SemiFeralDalek · 15/06/2021 20:53

I had my first phizer today and then in a completely unrelated series of events I ended up in EPU.

Found out I'm measuring at about 5.5 weeks rather than the 7 or so from my dates and I'm not feeling particularly positive about it as you can imagine.

So I'm probably going to bow out and wish you all all the best for healthy happy pregnancies and lovely squishy babies at the end of it all.

Good luck everyone xx

Hi there loved reading through all your messsges, there is so many of us due around the same time. Going by my last period I will be 8 weeks tomorrow, Ive had some spotting today so have a scan tomorrow. Trying to stay positive, Googling it seems to say it is pretty common and not to think the worst. Apart from that I’m doing good! Hope you all are well xx

EsseKey · 15/06/2021 22:00

Gosh SemiFeralDalek I am so sorry to hear that, I am not tagging you in case you don't want to be dragged back in here, but if you read please know that I am thinking of you and I wish you all the best XX

@SemiFeralDalek I really hope it’s better news than you anticipate.

Girls I have woken up today in the worst mood! Already cried once this morning on the way to work because I forgot to get meat for tonights dinner out out of the freezer to defrost...!

I am quite an anxious person anyway, but this morning I just feel so anxious and jittery and just low.. I can't shake it Hmm

Also, is anyone else's DH just not 'getting it' when it comes to the extra emotions and stuff. He's not that empathetic anyway, never has been, but he just doesn't get it. I keep saying to him I need his emotional support now more than ever and will do for at least the next 9-12 months, but he kind of just brushes it off.

Sorry to vent, it is probably just me overthinking it, but I am an anxious mess today! Sad

EsseKey · 16/06/2021 10:02

@expectinglittlebear so sorry to hear you are not in the mood today :(
It happened to me before, just waking up and crying for the most silly reason!

I hope you can get a better communication with your partner...their support is definitely needed from now on (not just pregnancy I guess!), we don't need more frustration!

try to keep yourself busy today and if possible to do something you enjoy - hopefully the weather will help XX

thecapitalsunited · 16/06/2021 10:44

I’m also thinking of you SemiFeralDalek

spttc · 16/06/2021 11:49

@expectinglittlebear oh no that's no fun. I luckily Havnt experienced that yet but I remember being smug at 6weeks 4 days that I hadn't had morning sickness and now I'm a mess with it 🙄 so I'm sure it's coming! Just be kind to yourself. Have you told anyone apart from your OH about your pregnancy yet? I feel like sometimes other women are the only people who truly understand that type of hormonal emotion as they've been through it themselves!

SouthwestSis · 16/06/2021 17:12

@expectinglittlebear my husband is similar and I think the pregnancy still hasn't necessarily hit home yet because there is not much external evidence and there is still a risk of miscarriage in first trimester so I think he doesn't want to form an attachement so to speak.
I found getting mine a book helped as it laid out all the symptoms and made clear that the spouse has a significant role in supporting the pregnant partner. I do think some men need it spelt out for them!
We got a copy of "pregnancy for men, the whole 9 months"

Alle1991 · 17/06/2021 09:02

Morning, I’ve woken up with awful anxiety, it’s been building up the past couple of days. Just can’t shifted it :( what hasn’t helped is normally every morning I wake up with really sore boobs, today nothing!

Sorry for the whinge. Just needed a place to get it off my chest and hoping it makes me feel slightly better.

How’s everyone else feeling?

EsseKey · 17/06/2021 09:12

@expectinglittlebear I was just thinking about the whole partner & emotional support thing...

In my first pregnancy, my partner was definitely not as involved as he is now. He was avoiding any pregnancy talk, he kept saying that it was too early to get excited etc. A total mood breaker tbh! BUT, I had noticed that at moments he was talking about random baby stuff out of the blue, for example one night he presented me a list of baby names, another time he wanted to organise a pregnancy friendly vacation for the summer, etc... so I noticed that he was actually excited but was just not showing it externally! It was kind of sweet...
I know this is not the same as the practical emotional support that we probably need in this moment, but at that time noticing these small things really helped me understanding his reaction to the situation and not feeling frustrated by the apparent lack of excitement

I don't know if this helps!

Now the situation with my partner is very different, losing our first pregnancy changed the dynamics I think, but I am also planning to feed him some books on the topic to read eheheh

EsseKey · 17/06/2021 09:16

another question for the sick ladies: has anyone tried the pressotheraphy wrist bands? I have just ordered a pair from amazon after reading from the NHS website that there is some evidence that they could work against sickness/nausea (including pregnancy sickness) - not sure if this will actually work, but it was cheap so worth a try!

Jonesy88 · 17/06/2021 09:16

Hi @Alle1991. I’m still pretty anxious as my symptoms are so mild. I think I’m starting to feel a bit nauseous occasionally but really it could just be my brain trying to convince my body to act pregnant. I did have an early scan at the weekend and saw the heartbeat which was so reassuring so my blueberry is tucked up growing away. I think it’s such a fine line isn’t it between having symptoms that make you feel naff but also having the reassurance of having them at the same time.

Pingupp · 17/06/2021 09:19

Hi ladies
Can I join? We had a donor egg ivf and am really happy that we are now 5 weeks pregnant. Baby due in Feb 🥰
Any advice, hints, tips. This is all new to me.
I feel fine just mega bloated!!

Tangfastic91 · 17/06/2021 10:11

Morning ladies, hope everyone is well. Nausea really ramping up, woke me up a 4am, would have looked a right sight eating rich teas on the bathroom floor 🙈. Really hoping it doesn't get any worse, but I heard 9 weeks is the peak for most people. Excited to see the midwife for booking next week, makes it more real! Have a great day all.
P.s totally relating to all with anxiety, keep trying to say to myself 'more likely to have a sticky normal pregnancy than to not' sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.

happysam · 17/06/2021 10:16

Hi everyone! Can I join? I'm 8 weeks pregnant today with my second. I have a little girl who turned 3 in May. So excited but of course anxious too!
