Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

@Kayl23 same with me, some days I feel grim and have waves of nausea and the odd days I’ve felt fine. I have found the days I haven’t had any I’ve been really busy so maybe just not thought about it. Maybe mention it at your booking on appointment? I’ve got 101 questions for mine haha

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 08:56

@Alle1991 @SukiHenny Thanks ladies ☺️ I think you're both right. I've been pretty nauseous this morning so I feel much better now (a sentence I never thought I would say!)
Now that you've mentioned it, I was busy yesterday and spent most of the day out and about so perhaps your right that being busy just takes your mind off it. I'll definitely speak to the midwife about it at my booking in appointment though! I have an early scan on Thursday this week so I'm hoping that will relieve some of the anxiety, isn't it difficult not to worry when something changes!

GoldenSun1 · 14/06/2021 09:24

I had a scare this weekend - brown spotting in my knickers and when I wiped on Saturday. I rang the Early Pregnancy Unit and they said this is common and could be old implantation bleeding coming out or a bleed from the sensitive cervix. They said to wait and see.

It was a horrid Saturday but it did stop and I didn't feel any cramps. I decided to book a private scan to see what was going on Sunday evening. Luckily all seems to be well, the heartbeat is looking strong and baby is measuring exactly the right size for my dates going off ovulation. They couldn't see any signs of bleeding so thing it is old blood coming out.

As it was an internal scan some more discoloured discharge has come down and there is still a little bit when I wipe this morning. My anxiety is still there but I think a lot is burnout from the stress of the weekend.

One thing the scan has done is calmed my fears about lack of nausea. My hormones have been strong enough for the first 8 weeks they just haven't made me sick.

expectinglittlebear · 14/06/2021 10:26

Anyone else's hayfever literally THE WORST this year?!

My symptoms are also changing on the daily!

Had a couple of nosebleeds the past few days, with headaches. I know they are both symptoms of pregnancy, but also not sure whether it is a mixture of the intense heat weather atm, or hayfever irritating my nostrils!

Also the nausea is still not subsiding.. got the ginger biscuits to hand at all times!

How is everyone else getting on? xx

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 11:00

@expectinglittlebear Yes! I never usually get hay fever but it's hit me like a truck this year! I've also started with headaches the last couple of days which I don't usually get. Have your nosebleeds been bad?

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 11:01

@GoldenSun1 I'm pleased to hear it all turned out okay! But yeah, I can imagine that wait to find out things were ok must have been horrific. How many weeks are you now?

GoldenSun1 · 14/06/2021 11:07

@Kayl23 I am 8 wks + 1

GoldenSun1 · 14/06/2021 11:08

Actually make that +2. Haha I'm so tired I forgot it is a new day!

ChelleV · 14/06/2021 14:28

I have been so fatigued it's been hard to manage being at work.

They've offered me the first aid room when nobody else needs it "for half hour naps or to have privacy in morning sickness".

I could've cried with relief!

EsseKey · 14/06/2021 14:40

Hi ladies... I am not having a great time, when I am not nauseous I am extremely tired, I don't feel like doing anything other than spending time on the sofa, and I try to do some work in between naps! I usually love the hot weather but this time it's killing me, I feel dizzy and constantly sleepy! :(

I used to be quite active and exercising at moderate/high intensity 3-4 times a week, but I can't do anything at the moment because every time I try I start feeling nausea and belly cramps...maybe it's normal, maybe it's not but I really don't like to feel like that! At the same time I hate feeling this 'lazy' and not getting almost any exercise in.. :(
I tried with all sorts of workout modifications, at lower intensity and stopping as soon as I feel something, but every time I get cramps afterwards and it's not nice! anyone having similar experience or useful advice? I was happy with my fitness before pregnancy, I feel I am losing everything now :(

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 16:15

Hello @EsseKey sorry to hear that you're struggling 😔 I'm in a very similar boat, was previously powerlifting four times a week but I haven't trained at all in two weeks and have just been sitting around due to nausea/tiredness but equally I absolutely hate feeling lazy and was really worrying about my fitness levels/strength reducing. Unfortunately I do not have any advice that can fix it, but I have found that accepting the fact I'm probably not going to be exercising much until I feel better rather than constantly feeling frustrated with it is helping me feel more okay about it. I think what's worth remembering is that all of the energy we would have used up in exercise has already been spent before we even get our trainers on, because it's being used to grow an actual human body from scratch! Are you eating small and regular? That seems to slightly help with the nausea. If I remember correctly, you're around the same dates as me so we're already past halfway through the first trimester and the nausea etc will hopefully subside as we go into the second! Then we can start exercising again!

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 16:17

Also forgot to add that I also started getting cramps/shooting pains when I was still training, so maybe it's a good idea to have a rest anyway just while our bodies figure out what they're doing and everything is moving into place inside us xx

spttc · 14/06/2021 16:26

@EsseKey I'm feeling the same. I felt so unwell today I had to call into work sick. Havnt moved from the bed all day. Can't eat anything & totally exhausted. I know now the gym is off the table for me until I start feeling better 😞

Hey @Kayl23 thanks for your words

EsseKey · 14/06/2021 16:30

@spttc oh I am so sorry that you are so unwell today!!

As @Kayl23 said, small and frequent (almost constant for me) eating might help with the nausea, but I know how hard it is to put food in your mouth when your stomach is upset! hang in there, it won't last forever! X

Jonesy88 · 14/06/2021 17:10

@Kayl23 I love the thinking that we’re already more than halfway through the 1st trimester!

Sorry for the people feeling pants, it’s so annoying when you can really say much about what’s going on either.

spttc · 14/06/2021 17:51

@EsseKey Thank you! I got my husband to bring me home some plain unsalted crackers. I had a few of them there and I think they may help the nausea to just very regularly eat those 👌👌

I'm finding it hard to know when to take my supplements aswell, maybe evenings might be the only way as otherwise I just vomit them back up 🙈🙄😂

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 17:56

@EsseKey Exactly ☺️ my partner is obviously still training and whenever he comes home telling me how hard his session was, I am actually quite enjoying responding with something along the lines of "cool, I made someone else's heart start beating this week" whilst shovelling an unnecessary amount of carbs into my mouth. Try it, I'm almost certain it will make you feel better 😉 hahaha

I am also 7+1 today 🥰 do you feel better about it after having some reassurance from the midwife? Oh I know what you mean, going too long without eating definitely worsens the nausea but then you feel too sick to eat anything and have gone off all food! I'm exactly the same!

@Jonesy88 Ooooh I know it's so exciting isn't it! I don't know why, but I'm really looking forward to hitting 8 weeks. I think it's possibly because that's when it starts looking more like a baby on my app haha

Jonesy88 · 14/06/2021 18:07

@Kayl23 I’m looking forward to the 8 week mark too - it feels so much longer than saying 6 weeks and is two thirds of the way to the 12 week mark! (That’s my weird logic anyway).

EsseKey · 14/06/2021 18:11

@Kayl23 well having the midwife telling me to take it easy makes it a bit easier to accept because it gives some validation to my 'laziness' ahahah
I am glad to hear I am not alone in this, please keep me posted on your training progression when you will eventually go back to that :)

I am also looking forward to the 8wk mark, it feels like a milestone!

Kayl23 · 14/06/2021 18:44

@Jonesy88 @EsseKey Looks like we're all excited for 8 weeks then haha... not long to go!

thecapitalsunited · 14/06/2021 20:18

Another one who has dropped exercise levels recently. I was doing an average of 60 mins a day moderate exercise and above between cardio/strength and dog walks. I’ve not even been out with the dog so much because it’s been so hot. Hopefully I can pick it up again when I’m not feeling so tired.

Alle1991 · 14/06/2021 20:58

Hi girls, I feel your pain with not being able to workout as much as before. I’ve accepted that if I manage one workout a week then it’s better than nothing. Just tried to up my walks when I can.

Like it’s already been said, we are growing a small human so rest is 100% ok. Hopefully when we reach the 12 week mark some of our energy will return.

But for now enjoy the extra rest and as much carbs as you need!

OttilieKnackered · 15/06/2021 06:41

Morning all. I agree on the lack of exercise. I was working out 7 times a week before this. Now virtually nothing. Not experiencing terrible nausea but I am breathless and exhausted and now have had a virus on top for several days and my flat is absolutely sweltering so no chance of exercise.

I feel like the virus is masking any small amounts of nausea I did have so I don’t even feel very pregnant which is worrying me as I am really paranoid about symptoms subsiding. Currently anxiously waiting on a PCR test.

Pretty miserable right now. 😞

Kayl23 · 15/06/2021 09:01

Aww no @OttilieKnackered that sounds rubbish! I always worry when my symptoms aren't as strong too but try not to, you're probably right that the virus is masking your pregnancy symptoms and plus your body will be focussing on getting rid of the virus instead of giving you nausea etc. Our bodies are very strange things sometimes! When is your test?
