@EsseKey my mild nausea is much the same, don’t really fancy food but feel much better once it’s in!

ChelleV · 09/06/2021 10:12

Good morning everyone.

I had a referral to the EPU and they did a scan.

Seeing that heart beating away has just made me feel so many emotions I don't even have words for. The relief that nothing appears to be wrong at this stage is like exhaling after holding your breath in for a very very long time.

I'm struggling to focus on anything at work now though, because the nausea and thinking of that teeny tiny little thing, thumping away.

EsseKey · 09/06/2021 10:39

@ChelleV this is a great news, I know it's such an emotion to see the little blob and its heartbeat, there are no words to describe it... I am so happy for you that everything is looking good xx

expectinglittlebear · 09/06/2021 12:59

Hey everyone! Been off of here for a few days, as I got married at the weekend! I am 6+3 today and all of my symptoms apart from tiredness seem to have eased up, which worries me a little, but I have an early private scan booked in for next week when I will be 7+4 which I am beyond excited for and will hopefully rest my worries.

How is everyone doing?

EsseKey · 09/06/2021 13:15

Congratulations @expectinglittlebear - exciting times! I am the same as you, and can't wait for the 'official' early scan on the 20th!
I would say do not worry about the symptoms (easier said than done I know), everyone has different symptoms and many times they come and go! xx

OttilieKnackered · 09/06/2021 13:17

@ChelleV brilliant news! I have been wondering how you’ve been getting on since you last posted

Alle1991 · 09/06/2021 13:27

@expectinglittlebear congratulations!

Try not to worry about the symptoms, mine come and go, some days are worse than others.

I’m going to book an early scan for 2 weeks which will make me about 8 weeks by then.

Have any of you told close family and friends? I’m dying to tell my mum but just want to wait for the scan to check everything is ok.

EsseKey · 09/06/2021 14:36

@Alle1991 I haven't told anyone yet except one close friend...
I think I will tell my parents only if everything is ok at the 8 wk scan...
then wait for after the 12wk one to tell everyone else.
this is what I would like to do, my partner has slightly different opinions on this - he would like to wait a bit more as his mum can become a bit apprehensive.... we 'll see

thecapitalsunited · 09/06/2021 14:51

@Alle1991 I’ve told both sets of parents and siblings but cautioned that it’s early day and anything could happen so not to spread the news further.

Others have mentioned private early scans. I wasn’t going to do one but I’ve cracked and booked one for next Friday. Fingers crossed everything is going ok. Certainly my hormone levels seem to be high because I’ve had horrendous constipation the last few days. Could barely get to sleep because of the pressure last night. My boobs are still very sore too. No nausea yet though.

ChelleV · 09/06/2021 15:12

@Alle1991 I've told a few close people. I know you shouldn't in case the worst happens... but if that does, I'll want some support, so those people who would both be excited now but supportive if it goes wrong, those the ones I told. My sisters, my closest friend, and a friend who has had two kids (I pretty much told her so I could ask her EVERYTHING because I don't understand how people hide feeling this awful!)

@EsseKey I've been having a cracker every half an hour or so (sometimes more than one!) and it's really helping. My other meals are a little lighter, but largely because the smell of food is making my stomach do weird things, even though I know I'd enjoy eating pretty much anything!

@thecapitalsunited 1 in 10 ladies apparently don't get any sickness, maybe you're one of the lucky ones!

ChelleV · 09/06/2021 15:15

@expectinglittlebear CONGRATS!!!

That scan will do things to you. I've not stopped thinking about mine since I had the EPU one and your little bean will be MUCH bigger than my little lentil was

Littlemiss40andfabulous · 09/06/2021 20:33

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking a while here but joining today as I'm 6 weeks and 4 days and made it official with the midwife today!

Not too many symptoms here- a little bit more tired than normal and weeing a bit more than usual but that's about it.

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy pregnancy xxx

OttilieKnackered · 10/06/2021 12:13

@Littlemiss40andfabulous welcome! And welcome to the very specific group of us due on 30th Jan!

SukiHenny · 10/06/2021 12:33

Has anyone else experienced more than usual quantities of PURE RAGE? I can't tell whether it's just the intermittent low-level nausea getting me down, or whether it's hormones, but my fuse is super-short. I sense I will not be one of those beaming women looking all serene in pregnancy... we're 9 weeks as of today though, that's encouraging. My app informs me I'm carrying a green olive!

expectinglittlebear · 10/06/2021 12:39

Thank you!! @EsseKey @Alle1991 @ChelleV

In regards to telling people, I told my boss last week but we was going to wait until after the early scan next week to tell parents etc.. but we caved at the wedding and felt like I couldn't keep it from them. Also, I think as the day went on people were starting to wonder why I wasn't drinking at my own wedding haha! So we ended up telling parents, grandparents and our closest friends.

I am with you on the rage @SukiHenny. I am not an argumentative person at all but things have been really getting to me lately, a lot more than usual!

Kayl23 · 10/06/2021 14:52

@SukiHenny YES to the rage! I think it's due to hormones. My poor partner is having to really bite his tongue recently to prevent arguments 😂

SukiHenny · 10/06/2021 15:24

Thanks @Kayl23 and @expectinglittlebear - that makes me feel a bit better.Smile

Alle1991 · 11/06/2021 09:42

Morning, how’s everyone feeling?

I don’t want to jinx it but my anxiety has been much better the past few days. Feeling a bit bloated but I’ve had such a massive appetite this week so eaten loads!

7 weeks today so hoping I get my first appointment from the doctors soon. I had to do a self referral so should hear back in the next 7 days.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend

EsseKey · 11/06/2021 09:59

morning @Alle1991 and all...
I am doing ok-ish today, I feel very tired and the nausea that comes and goes..fortunately seems to be still manageable by constantly snacking, even if I am not hungry.
I am also very bloated especially in the afternoon/evening, if I relax completely my stomach it looks like I am 6 months pregnant already ahah

SouthwestSis · 11/06/2021 10:16

Morning all. I'm 7+5 today, nausea has subsided but struggling with some crazy intense shifts at work at none of my colleagues knowing so they just must think I am rubbish and slow! Did have to tell 1 boss when I was too sick to come I'm on time earlier in the week.
Haven't told any family or friends yet but want to wait until we are closer to 10/11 weeks as I know the MC risk is lower by then.
Not getting much sympathy from husband with pregnancy symptoms, he is convinced I am "milking it" !Angry

OttilieKnackered · 11/06/2021 10:20

I have woken with a cough (tickly and annoying rather than continuous but I’ve sent for a test just in case), which is now another thing to add to the list of things keeping me awake all night.

Like others I’m now mildly nauseous whenever I’m not topped up with food.

Thankfully it’s my quiet period at work so as long as I’m available and keep up with basic tasks I can take it fairly easy.

Jonesy88 · 11/06/2021 10:29

Hi Everyone,

Great to hear people are doing well. I’m still bumbling along with zero pregnancy symptoms so we’ve booked a test for this weekend just to check there is actually something there! The only vaguely symptom like thing I have is my digestion being all over the place - everything was really slow last week and now it seems to be catching up.

I know I’m silly for wanting symptoms but is it too much to ask for one little nauseous moment?!

expectinglittlebear · 11/06/2021 10:34

Hey everyone!

I thought I had gotten away with no sickness or nausea, but woke up this morning (6+5) and BAM.. all morning and nothing is helping. Oh fun times!

@Jonesy88 how far along are you? My first symptoms was digestive issues and they seemed to start on week 4 until nearly week 6! xx

Ya91 · 11/06/2021 10:37

@Jonesy88 I’m 8+4 and constantly worrying because I have barely any symptoms!
I’ve got an early scan next week where I’ll be 9+3 so hopefully that will give me some reassurance.

Jonesy88 · 11/06/2021 10:40

@expectinglittlebear I’m 6+6 but I think I’ll probably be a little bit behind that as I have slightly longer cycles. I got bloated around week 5 so it sort’ve tallies.

@Ya91 I’ll be 7+1 for my scan but in reality maybe 6+4ish so I’m just hoping to be able to see a heartbeat. I think if I can see that I’ll feel so much better. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway!
