Hi ladies, I’m 7 weeks today so looking to be due around 23rd Jan 22. This will be my first baby, and will be 36 by then. I’d love to join this group and keep up with you all throughout xx

Alle1991 · 06/06/2021 22:09

@Ooohlalaura congratulations and welcome!

I’ve been super tired today, spent most of the day in bed catching up on tv. My anxiety is still terrible, constantly thinking the worst is going to happen. Any tips on how to control it? I’m hoping it will get better with time

Fraanne · 07/06/2021 07:18

@SemiFeralDalek that’s so funny, yes one of mine loves my dad and refuses to leave when he is there 😂 I’m hoping they will be okay as we have had niece and nephews round since they were tiny and they had a sniff and thought they were boring so went back to sleep! Not sure what will happened when the baby doesn’t leave but I’m sure they will be okay!

SouthwestSis · 07/06/2021 08:19

@Ooohlalaura hello and welcome! How have you been feeling through your pregnancy so far? Is it long since you found out?

I'm really wanting to get into a regular exercise habit in the next couple of weeks as I know it will be harder when I'm bigger but my goodness the tiredness has got me glued to the sofa!

Ooohlalaura · 07/06/2021 08:35

Thank you @SouthwestSis and @Alle1991!

I found out just over 2 weeks ago. Feels like a lifetime! Literally counting down the days.

I had some spotting and after last loss was very worried, so the early pregnancy unit saw me for a scan last Friday. Saw the little bean and a heartbeat so I was hugely relieved.

Not had many symptoms (another source of anxiety) except disturbed sleep and this really weird feeling of empty stomach which makes me feel nauseous, even when I’ve eaten recently. Like being on a diet lol! But I can’t complain as I know a lot of you are having it rough at the moment x

Yorkiemum89 · 07/06/2021 09:27

@EsseKey that is so amazing you got to see your little one 💕 that is such a relief!

I'm now 6+1 but still haven't really felt any kind of sickness yet. Am I alone in that? I feel a bit bloated and have mild heartburn but that's about it. Boobs are an absolute killer still though!

Fraanne · 07/06/2021 10:21

I’m getting a little worried, this morning I went to the loo and when I wiped there was pink discharge. Now I’m panicking that something is really wrong but I feel like if I call the doctor I will just be overreacting or something - has anyone else had this? I’m hoping it’s nothing and it’s only happened once but it’s really worried me

Yorkiemum89 · 07/06/2021 10:55

@Fraanne I've read lots of about different types of discharge as I'm feeling super anxious about every little change (I had some brown spotting last week). Pink spotting could be that your cervix is slightly irritated and I've also read that pregnancy hormones have a big part to play too. Hopefully it won't last long at all - mine stopped after a day x

thecapitalsunited · 07/06/2021 13:21

@Yorkiemum89 I haven’t had any significant nausea either. I’m so constipated though - my weight was almost 2lb lighter today than yesterday simply because I’d managed to actually go. I felt so relieved afterwards that I nearly did a dance. My boobs are also very sore still.

RowanMumsnet · 07/06/2021 13:58

OttilieKnackered · 07/06/2021 14:15

@Yorkiemum89 @thecapitalsunited I’ve not had much nausea. Slight nausea first thing in the morning but as soon as I’m upright it goes away, pretty much. My digestion in general has been all over the place - bloating, wind, constipation, diarrhoea. The full glamorous works!

Yorkiemum89 · 07/06/2021 20:55

@Fraanne how are you getting on this evening? Hope you're ok!

Fraanne · 07/06/2021 21:12

@Yorkiemum89 it’s stopped thank god! It was just something I panicked about but the more I googled the more it’s fairly normal! Although this morning (all day!) sickness is getting to me! I can’t bare food at all today 😂 oh the joys it’s so glamorous! How are you?

Yorkiemum89 · 07/06/2021 21:15

@Fraanne yeah exactly - think it's all fairly normal but I'm exactly the same as you and go straight into panic mode! Hard not to isn't it!! I'm doing ok thanks - I'm still not feeling nauseous which is making me feel a little bit anxious (I never thought I'd say that!) but I'm just trying to take it day by day... easier said than done 😂 glad you're ok!!

Fraanne · 08/06/2021 07:36

@Yorkiemum89 don’t say that, I wanted morning sickness for it to feel more real?! But now I have it - it’s awful 😂 I wake up hungry but super sick and my partner is basically being my slave as I can’t bare going in the kitchen so yesterday I had pasta at 9.30am as it’s the only thing I fancied! I’m hoping it will ease sooner rather than later as I just want to eat food without feeling or being sick

Kayl23 · 08/06/2021 09:23

I second what @Fraanne has said haha, I was so desperate to start feeling nauseous so that I would feel more pregnant but now that it's started it's awful! I had to run out of Asda yesterday whilst attempting the food shop because looking at the raw meat set me off! My poor mum had to go scan and pay for the stuff that was already in my trolley while I sat in the car heavy breathing 😂

bailey1802 · 08/06/2021 09:42

@Kayl23 Oh no you really did jinx yourself didn't you 🙈 I've had this since about week 4! I'm 8+1 now and hoping it starts to slow down soon! Only lost 2lb, thank god, it's not a great deal but I'm basically bed bound most days! Awful 😩 Just praying it isn't the whole way through as I really won't enjoy this pregnancy at all lol xx

Kayl23 · 08/06/2021 10:11

@bailey1802 I really did haha I could kick myself!! Yours does sound bad though but at least you haven't lost much weight, have you been physically sick a lot or just feeling like you might be? Hopefully not long left of feeling like it for you, I have read a lot of things saying it tends to peak between 7-12 weeks xx

GoldenSun1 · 08/06/2021 10:16

Hello! I've been lurking a bit on this thread as I'm so scared of jinxing it but I'm struggling with my emotions this week and could do with a safe supportive space.

I'm 7wks 4 days and no nausea. I still have the sore breasts and tiredness and my main symptom of gas/bloating but it doesn't seem to be increasing. I know some women don't feel sick at all during pregnancy but I'm just so surprised as all my pregnant relatives did. I'm driving myself mad with worry and had a long crying session to my husband yesterday. I stupidly read through the study on no nausea and miscarriage and have really upset myself. I'm probably being daft and the crying and anxiety are symptoms themselves.

BennyB22 · 08/06/2021 10:34

@GoldenSun1 I'm about 8+1 (maybe a couple of days less) and I've really not had much in the way of nausea. Same as you, it's definitely tricky not to worry, particularly when everyone always thinks of it as the number one pregnancy symptom!

The way I see it at the moment, I've got no evidence to prove anything is not going to plan. I am also telling myself that worrying doesn't affect the outcome too. I get that it's easier said than done, but that's the mindset I'm trying to work with.

I'm fairly easy going by nature and not a worrier- and I've cried about it too! So like you, might very well be symptom!

SemiFeralDalek · 08/06/2021 10:35

Honestly, nausea /sickness or lack of in pregnancy doesn't indicate either way. I have friends who had dreadful HG from basically the moment of conception. Healthy pregnancies, miscarriages and MMC. My healthiest pregnancy withy DS1, I wouldn't have known I was pregnant until I started getting a bump. But my hands went numb up to my elbows from 26 weeks till he was about 7 weeks old. It's such a lottery.

But if you are struggling, don't be fobbed off with "have you tried ginger biscuits /ice lollies /deep breathing /flat coke?" etc. Get in touch with your GP, there are medicones available to stop sickness in pregnancy. Don't feel like you have to suffer.

Fraanne · 08/06/2021 11:07

@Kayl23 did yours come on suddenly? Literally I think I started dead on 6week mark! I’m probably going to call the doctors and say as I can eat anything and constantly sick, I know it’s all part of it but it’s getting to the point where I’m hungry but just can’t eat!

Oh the raw meat thing, I’m with you! My partner can not cook to save his life he is the worlds most awful cook but he is having to learn quickly as he now cooks the meat for dinner 😂 once it’s cooked I’m fine!

GoldenSun1 · 08/06/2021 11:25

Thank you @BennyB22 and @SemiFeralDalek (great username btw). I think the crying about it is definitely hormones and hopefully I'll go back to calmly taking it day by day soon

bailey1802 · 08/06/2021 11:33

@Kayl23 I've only been sick 3 times in the past 3/4 weeks.. but from the min I wake up I have constant nausea, unless I'm sitting dead still or asleep it's bad. And yeah I have gone off most foods, it's hard. I told the doctor on my first appointment & she suggested anti nausea tablets but they made me worse, I haven't took one since. I think I'll just ride it out next few weeks but if it doesn't improve then I'll push it with the doc. Xx

EsseKey · 08/06/2021 16:05

How is everyone doing today? I hope all the nauseated ladies are feeling a bit better?
@GoldenSun1 I was the same as you before joining MN, but definitely worth for the support, especially at these early stages!

My symptoms have shifted in these early weeks...at the beginning just mild cramps in my belly (similar to menstrual cramps), then the cramps slowly decreases and I got an awful metallic taste in my mouth for 3-4- days, then my nipples started to be a bit sensitive/sore but not my boobs, and now I have sore/sensitive nipple and boobs (but they are not harder or bigger!), and some nausea

The funny thing is that my nausea seems to disappear as soon as I put some food in my mouth, even if I don't fancy any in that moment. Since it also comes back pretty soon, I am practically constantly eating... so I am doing experiments to see what is the minimum amount of food I can use to calm down the nausea, otherwise I will gain 10x the pregnancy weight before I can even see the bump ahahah
