Hi ladies, I just found out I'm pregnant 4 weeks 1 day just seeing if there's any other newly pregnant who are as excited, terrified, elated, and shocked as I am 😂🤰🏻💕 Due Jan 30th 2022 🤞🤞🤞

Hi everyone! Hoping it's okay to join. I'm 31 and by my (very rough) calculations I think I'm 7+3. Feeling pretty good at the moment, aside from heartburn and indigestion.

Wondered if anyone else is getting breathless doing the smallest of tasks? I sound like a chain smoking octogenarian just climbing the stairs or speaking loudly! Grin

Yes! I've found myself puffed out a few times - climbing stairs, putting away laundry and wallpapering. Feels very strange!

Morning ladies! I know there's a few of you around the same dates as me and will be six weeks tomorrow. I've been reading this morning that the risk of miscarriage does decrease quite significantly at 6 weeks (if you google it there's loads of stuff). I know there's quite a few of us on here struggling with anxiety but learning this has really helped to make me feel better and thought it might help some of you. Obviously the risk doesn't decrease as much as what it does at 12 weeks, but it's still a positive statistic in my opinion ☺️

EsseKey · 05/06/2021 08:22

Morning @Kayl23
I think we all need positive thoughts, it's nice from you to share yours :)

I am doing quite poorly this morning, not physically but I am in a super sad mood, I can't stop crying. I think it's a combination of hormones and my general feeling of loneliness in this period - all these nice sunny days and not very much to do or someone to share with - all my friends moved abroad in the last year, my partner works away from home most of the time, no family around... I am usually ok with that and quite creative in finding things to do and keep myself busy, but I am really not feeling it today! Sorry I know it's not exactly pregnancy stuff, maybe I can just add crazy emotional hormonal reaction to my symptoms ahahah

OttilieKnackered · 05/06/2021 09:11

Morning @Kayl23 and @EsseKey I’m pretty good this morning. Also very mindful of tomorrow’s 6 week deadline for the same reasons! Still fighting to stay positive. I think the thing is I want to start organising and planning stuff for the baby (especially as this pregnancy is a ‘surprise’) as keeping busy is the best way I know how to take my mind off things.

But of course for most things it’s far too early and I don’t want to jinx anything!

Kayl23 · 05/06/2021 09:29

@EsseKey Oh bless you that does sound really hard! What area of the U.K. do you live in? How often does your partner get back home?

@OttilieKnackered I'm the same, even before being pregnant, I need to be busy otherwise my mind starts overthinking everything and before I know it I feel rubbish! I know what you mean about being worried to jinx things, when do you think you will start buying things? I'm so excited to get started on the baby's bedroom but it's far too early yet. Still doesn't stop me looking on Pinterest though haha

OttilieKnackered · 05/06/2021 09:40

@kayl23

Definitely nothing until after 12 week scan, but probably the 20 week one. Firstly because of the jinxing thing and secondly as we’re in a one bed flat and want to minimise clutter. I am certainly researching and making lists though. Have already had a pretty significant clear out which feels good at any time!

EsseKey · 05/06/2021 09:55

@Kayl23 I live in Northamptonshire...my partner comes back home at weekends, but 1 every 3 weekends he works and this is one of those! This should be the last year he is doing this, so hopefully when baby is here we will be more like a normal family, I really need it!

@OttilieKnackered
I am sooo tempted to look at baby stuff but as you said I don't want to jinx it! Lat time (when I had a MC), by 7 wk I had done so much research already it was crazy! This time I am trying to stay away from that for at least the first trimester... even though I have to go to IKEA for something else and I am sure I will spend at least an hour in the crib section ahahah
I have only bought a baby t-shirt (so cute, 0-3 months) and put it in an amazon box when I told my partner we were pregnant... it was exciting buying that little baby item! I think it can become addictive ahah

BennyB22 · 05/06/2021 10:04

@sukiHenny glad to hear it's not just me! My general fitness has plummeted.

It's been lovely reading through everyone's stories. I can definitely concur with the over thinking- the sitting tight bit is the tricky part!

I've been working towards small milestones and ticking them off, first was getting my jag. Next up is end of term and booking appointment Smile

SukiHenny · 05/06/2021 12:58

@EsseKey I'm sorry to hear it was a tricky morning. Perhaps it's a good day for a comforting, familiar book or film with snack of choice? Brighter days to come. xxx

EsseKey · 05/06/2021 15:52

@SukiHenny thanks for your advice

SukiHenny · 05/06/2021 17:02

@EsseKey That sounds lovely. I'm so glad things righted themselves!

thecapitalsunited · 06/06/2021 09:32

How are we all doing today? I’ve still been feeling very tired - half an hour after getting up I was ready to go back to bed for a nap!

I think there are a few of us on the same dates and turn 6 weeks today. Almost can’t wait to refer myself to the hospital as it feels like I’ve been doing nothing and I hate sitting around waiting for things. I like to know what’s happening and when.

OttilieKnackered · 06/06/2021 09:54

Morning @thecapitalsunited. I am one of those six weeks today!

I’m finding my appetite is pretty flat at the moment and normally I’m an absolute glutton. Feel very vaguely nauseous but it’s almost more like just a nothingness, hence the appetite tailing off.

EsseKey · 06/06/2021 10:48

Goodmorning everyone! After a rough start yesterday, my saturday took an unexpected positive turn! For reasons I won't say, I was able to get a VERY unofficial scan...I am very aware of the limitations and that it doesn't mean necessarily that everything will be ok, but we were able to see the little embryo in my uterus (so no ectopic, yay!) and a beautiful little heartbeat, I can't describe the emotion!
I hope everyone else is doing well especially those who had intense symptoms and/or anxiety XX

Fraanne · 06/06/2021 12:34

Morning all! I’m feeling okay other than the sickness, it seems to be set off by smells!

I have 3 dogs (yes I am that idiot) and the smell of the poo (I know it’s an awful smell lol) is enough to send me running to the loo for a good half an hour (yay!) anyway this morning the dog decided to leave me a present when my partner went out! I had to get him to come back and sort it 😂

I’m really nervous but only 11 days to go until an early scan - it seems to be dragging though so trying to keep busy

spttc · 06/06/2021 13:16

@OttilieKnackered @thecapitalsunited I'm 6 weeks today aswell. The tiredness has hit me like a truck today. Going to have to have a nap. No nausea yet. Thank god! I know 6 weeks is the most usual time for that to start tho 🙈

OP posts:
Kayl23 · 06/06/2021 17:37

Afternoon ladies, I'm also 6 weeks today and have also been hit with the tiredness truck! I've had some nausea the last few days but nothing too bad, so I'm hoping it stays that way!

I am a massive dog lover too @Fraanne haha although we only have the one! Have you thought about how to manage the dogs with baby yet? We actually have a behaviourist coming in a couple of weeks. My dog is a staffy/jack russel cross so absolutely full of beans and constantly throwing his full body at us/jumping all over everything and generally acting like a hurricane hahaha. He would never hurt a baby on purpose but I'm worried about him getting too excited and accidentally hurting him/her!!

Ahhh @EsseKey that's great I'm so happy for you, I bet that was amazing 🥰 did your partner get to go with you too?

EsseKey · 06/06/2021 17:56

@Kayl23 yes he was with me, actually he performed the scan ahahah funny story that involves connections in the veterinary hospital business and some brand new ultrasound equipment to try... Grin

Today I am also feeling sooo tired! and mild nausea... I have spent most of the afternoon on the sofa and I really don't feel like doing anything else at the moment!

SouthwestSis · 06/06/2021 18:24

Afternoon all. I've hit 7 weeks today and feeling very proud of myself managing 2 11 hour shifts at work this weekend in a very active job despite my nausea and tiredness. About to walk home and crash out on the sofa. Thank goodness tomorrow is a working from home day!

EsseKey · 06/06/2021 18:35

@SouthwestSis well done, now get some well deserved rest!!! xx

Kayl23 · 06/06/2021 18:35

@EsseKey Well that does certainly sound interesting 😂 but how amazing that he got to perform the scan! I'm pretty much doing the same, my partner has gone out for a meal with work so tonight's plans are to stay snuggled on the sofa and order lots of food. Just hoping I don't feel sick after it hah

EsseKey · 06/06/2021 18:42

@Kayl23 yeah well we are both trained in ultrasound diagnostics, but not for human pregnancies so we never thought of doing that before! but now we have realised how lucky we are and I think we will be doing it again as pregnancy progresses...I guess it can become addictive having a little peek at the baby every now and then ahahah

I have noticed that I get nausea when I am not eating, and it goes away almost as soon as I put food in my mouth... if it's the same for you, I guess that ordering lots of food is the only sensible thing to do :D enjoy your dinner xx

Fraanne · 06/06/2021 20:33

@Kayl23 our 3 are tiny chihuahua crosses, and to be honest sleep 22 hours a day, I don’t even know if they ever wake up 😂 I’m a little worried with one of them but I’m sure it will be fine as they are really fairly chilled and gentle little dogs! Good idea to get someone round, I think if I find it too much I will get someone round to help us if there is issues!

SemiFeralDalek · 06/06/2021 21:29

What a lovely moment @essekey!

We've got chihuahuas, my girl chihuahua was very terratorial about my DS1 (and pregnant ladies in general!) but my boy chihuahua found him crying incredibly stressful and went to live at my parents for a bit of respite, and the basically refused to come home Grin him and my dad are bff's!

We used to have a staffy and she adored DS1, but you couldn't burp him or jiggle him about in front of her or you'd get told off for messing with her baby Grin
