What travel systems have you all gone for? I'm still dithering I really like the look of the jane trider with the matrix 2 car seat as then I wouldn't need a bassinet for the pram, but its so expensive

Good luck @Lullabymummy17 wishing you a safe and speedy labour!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 07/06/2021 09:40

We needed something that could be single or double so we have the icandy orange with cybex aton 5 carseat

Luckyelephant1 · 07/06/2021 09:54

We were so, so close to going with the icandy orange but opted for the Ocarro in the end with the maxi cosi pebble car seat. Got a really good deal on the system too however the isofix base had to be bought separately and I'm panicking a bit now as the place I've ordered it from emailed me saying it will take 2-3 weeks due to stock issues. I'll be between 37 and 38 weeks then so I am hoping baby doesn't come early! Worst case I can use the seat with a seat belt but I wanted some time to get used to the base and slotting the seat in etc.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 07/06/2021 11:03

We went for the egg2 as it’s meant to be good for off road walking and we have a dog and do lots of off road walking - although we have got a sling too so can mix and match! I’m starting to get the feeling that it’s real now and starting to panic that next month I will be responsible for a baby!!! Its surreal!

Fartymcfart · 07/06/2021 13:41

I like the egg @TiredAlreadyOhDear but it's even more expensive and this is definitely my last baby, so apparently from resale value won't get anymore use out of it.

There is loads I like but I am having real trouble making any decisions thus time round

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 07/06/2021 13:48

@Fartymcfart i can recommend cosattos prams, they resale at about 50% of what you paid and can often get a good deal on them

There’s so much choice! It’s crazy!

I've gone for a cybex but my friend raves about Cosatto too.

Sweetpea12 · 07/06/2021 18:34

I think this has been asked but so I’m not scrolling back through the comments roughly how many sleepsuits and vests would I need for hospital bag? I ended up having a high heart rate today and had to be checked at hospital and it dawned on me I’m not prepared Hmm so sorting hospital bag this week

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 07/06/2021 18:37

Ive got 3 sleepsuits and vests in 0-1 month and the same in 0-3 months

32+3 today and I’m absolutely shattered already 🤦🏼‍♀️ Sickness has ramped up again, saying that it never really stopped.

Sweetpea12 · 07/06/2021 21:03

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I was thinking around 6 thank you. I know currently they try and have people out of hospital the next day so I don’t want too much but not too little. And weight wise I’ve been told possibly 8lb baby but I’ll believe it when I see it lol. So wasn’t sure of 0-3 being big if it goes up to 12lb or 14lb

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 07/06/2021 21:05

Im expecting over 9lb, the upto one month stuff is up to 10lb which is why im taking those sizes!

I have been out with 6 hours for all of mine except dc1 so fingers crossed i wont be staying in at all 🤞

OP posts:
Sweetpea12 · 07/06/2021 21:29

Oh it sounds amazing getting to go home so soon after! I know what you mean about the size of clothes over 9lb baby wow 😄 I should have waited until I was given a rough weight as I have a few wee things that only go up to 7lb 5oz and don’t think he will get into those they were just bought out of sheer excitement Smile

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 07/06/2021 22:18

It is nice to go home straight from delivery, if i end up staying in i will probably be cross lol

Anyone else having lots of BH in evenings?

OP posts:
Jellybean81 · 07/06/2021 23:08

Found the new thread! Sorry for the silence it's been a worrying time - I've had two 4/5 day stints in hospital with threatened pre term labour starting from 27 weeks with two steroid injections etc. Today I'm 34 weeks! Feels like a miracle as every dr I saw was sure I'd have the baby before 32 weeks - had a growth scan today and baby girl is 5lbs Smile
The drs are still sure I'll deliver early but I'm praying I can keep things calm until 37 weeks.
Because of all the worry we hadn't really started to prep apart from a couple of premature baby outfits. The drs are so relaxed about her arriving now I've hit the 34 week milestone that I'm hopeful I can have a baby that comes straight home with us so have started to shop - still pretty much on bedrest so I think we'll soon be on first name terms with the delivery driver!
For those of you likely to have your babies a couple of weeks early, what size clothes are you planning to take in?

PeanutButterFalcon · 07/06/2021 23:39

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I’ve been getting them for a while now. I don’t think I’m too far behind you date wise. Had to go in on the monitor again after some bleeding and finally after ages of saying I’ve been getting them, the midwife said oh you really are getting them aren’t you. Don’t think they’ve been believing me! Everything’s ok and cervix is well and truly shut.

@Jellybean81 37 weeks isn’t far off. Fingers crossed for you and baby xx

PurpleCurtain · 08/06/2021 11:14

Anyone else a hayfever sufferer? I asked my midwife about hayfever medication and she said "they arent all safe so contact the GP" - but GP surgery say I need to buy from the chemists like everyone else and have booked me a phone appointment to discuss in two weeks time, which isnt going to be any help as my hayfever will be in full swing by then?!

Flittingaboutagain · 08/06/2021 11:34

I have had BH on and off for hours from 5-10 the past few evenings. It's so uncomfortable I feel like I need to pop!

I spoke to a pharmacist who said it was safe to take loratadine but not other anti histamines and only take on a high pollen day not every day.

Pinkroseuk · 08/06/2021 11:51

@PurpleCurtain yes I get hay fever really badly. Usually to the point of me passing out a few times over the summer. Doctors have never found anything that works and the only thing I have found is Sudafed decongestant max strength which is definitely off the cards this year. Is there any possibility you can see the pharmacist/doctor any earlier? I find the longer I leave it the worse it gets!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 08/06/2021 11:53

@Flittingaboutagain thats what i am like but for me it starts about 8pm and continues when i go to bed, how many weeks are you?

OP posts:
THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 08/06/2021 16:49

@Lullabymummy17 hope things are going ok x

OP posts:
Mummy2O · 08/06/2021 19:22

No BH here as yet. However, my baby does seem to be regularly trying to escape by headbutting the top of my bump - I keep seeing a giant protruding lump. He also keeps kicking me in the bladder. Hmm

notactuallylolling · 08/06/2021 19:44

I haven’t been on here forever Thankyou for setting up a new thread!!!
I’m 34+4 and just thoroughly fed up. My pelvis feels like it has cracked right down the middle, I’m getting ocular migraines and the worst of it all is the horrendous restless leg syndrome which makes it impossible for me to rest of sleep….please tell me I’m not alone! X
